And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan; - Matthew 19:1

I would say that 27 days before Easter Christ was on this day making his way towards Jerusalem. As he would pass through Jericho I would imagine along the Jordan river.

T-26 days

And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.- Luke 9: 51, 52, 53

Working his way out of Galilee and heading for Jericho. Samaria is between Galilee and Judea. He would have went through Samaria but as the scripture has it, they would not receive him.

Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. - Luke 10:13

Has some departing words for Galilee for not responding to his message as liked.

And as soon as he knew that he belonged unto Herod's jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who himself also was at Jerusalem at that time - Luke 23:7

And Herod with his men of war set him at nought, and mocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate. - Luke 23:11



We simply do not have enough info to develop a good time-line. But I will place Jesus in making the trek towards Jerusalem. He should be making his was through the land of Herod Antipas (Herod) on his way to Jericho. Herod Antipas (referred to as Herod the Tertrarch) was the guy who beheaded John the Baptist and who participated in the crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ. Herod was desirous to see Jesus but that never happened until Pilot sent him to Herod on Good Friday. Here is a video in which we have Herod pelting the Lord with dinner rolls...

Thanks for the u tubes. I have never seen either one before, but both were enjoyable in a different way.

(originally I thought this was about the big thing going around of Jesus returning in the next 30 days, I think, like, May 21 or something like that. Just another day many will have to bite their tongues and eat their words, or find some great reasoning (excuses) as to why Jesus had not seem to have yet come.

It should be interesting, but I think we have all been here before. LOL)

To my knowledge this is the only Jesus film filmed in Israel. Most of the scenes were from Advat, Israel. After reading the book the movie never does the book justice, including the life of Jesus. John Bunyan cried out "Oh friends! Cry unto God to reveal unto you Jesus Christ! For there is none that teaches like he!" The Holy Spirit is the best teacher in all things Jesus and his instructions are in all things paramount... all other sources are subordinate.

Well the Lord had his time with religious people of his days...

Pharisees - Confess both resurrection and spirits - Acts 23:8
Sadducees- Deny resurrection and spirits - Luke 20:27 - Note - Sad-you-see
Scribes - Teachers of the Old testament law.

These people would try to trip Jesus up in his time.

And the chief priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them. And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor. - Luke 20:19, 20

This video is of the high priest Annas and Caiaphas (Luke 3:2) who recommended Jesus be put to death (John 11:50). As these guys had no power to put to death they had Jesus sent to Pilot the Roman governor. But I am getting ahead of myself... Its only T-22 days! Here they are scheming together as Jesus enters Judea.

T - 21 days Jericho

My time line has Jesus passing through Jericho...

And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho - Mark 10:46

Now that's a fast trip! Very little happening in between! But thank God we have a certain blind man by the name of Bartimaeus who sat by the highway begging. Who heard it was Jesus passing away began to persistently call out for Jesus. Jesus asked what did he want knowing the man was blind. "Ye have not because you ask not" - James 5:3. Many times we simply have got to ask Jesus!

And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.[sup] [/sup]And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.[sup] [/sup]And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.[sup] [/sup]And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. Then we have the Lord lodging at Zacchaeus house for the night.


And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way. And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house. And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully. And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner. And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord: Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.[sup] [/sup]For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.- Luke 19: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10

So we have both a very poor and a very rich man who received something from the Lord in Jericho. In which I have also uploaded a video called "The Outcome." Signifying blessings for those who put their trust in the Lord.

T - 19 Days... The retreats...

And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat. - Mark 6:31

And the apostles, when they were returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them, and went aside privately into a desert place - Luke 9:10

The ministry of Jesus was a very popular one! I can imagine great crowds of people thronging him wherever he went. Below is a video of one of the many caves in the mountains of Israel. I would imagine that they would escape out to these caves from time to time for a little R&R.


A word on the Jesus videos. I believe that there is absolutely no way of capturing the persona of Jesus on film. I have a stair-master and an elliptical in my basement where I listen to Jesus Christ Superstar while working out. It is my favorite movie of Jesus. But there are some misses here in that they overly did the 70's thing in a Jesus movie.

Jesus relationship with woman...

Well we know that Jesus did no sin or do evil on the earth... Including any kind of relationships with women. He wouldn't tell his followers to avoid even looking at women with an evil eye and end up doing the same himself. So any kind of sexual relationship is totally out of the question here... But he did have woman follow in his entourage...

And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him, And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils, And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance. - Luke 8: 1,2,3

It looks like these woman were with Jesus early on ministering to him as he traveled. I would imagine that they washed clothes, cooked, cleaned, and basically waited on the men folk in the entourage. However I cannot say that Jesus totally avoided 'touchy feely' with woman...

And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,[sup] [/sup]And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.- Luke 7:37, 38

Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.- Luke 7:45


Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.- John 12:3

But I would think that there were limits put on how close Jesus would 'suffer' 'touchy feely' as the scripture says...

Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. - John 20:17

In which Mary gave Jesus an honorable...

Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master.- John 20:16




In the movie Jesus Christ superstar they had one top hit called "I don't know how to love him" in which was sung to Jesus why he slept by Mary Magdalene. Now I think they over-did that one a tad... But its a pretty good song. Here is the song performed by none other than Susan Boyle.

Bethany

I would place Jesus running into old friends at Bethany. These would be Mary, Martha, and Lazarus who are brothers and sisters and whose parents must have passed away leaving them three with the house.


Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again. - John 11:7


So Jesus, in context with the chapter, apparently leaves Judea for a about a week and will return to find Lazarus dead a good time. This must have been hard on the Lord as this was turning his back on his friends.

Jesus went about doing good…

Acts 10:39 …How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good…

Jesus on leaving Bethany, and his friend Lazarus to die, went outside of Judea to minister for a while. While out in the field he was basically out doing good.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater [works] than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. – John 14: 12,13

So we who have been discipled by the Lord Jesus Christ ought to do his works, which is basically out in the field doing good.

Objection - I am not qualified

Lazarus is sick and will die in 2 days. Jesus will wait until Lazarus is dead four days (John 11:17) before raising him from the dead. I will place the raising of Lazarous approximately a week before the crucifixion (T-9 days). With the raising of Lazarus the Pharisees will quickly realize that for the good of the nation they must act quick to kill Jesus. So we must wait 6 days before this gets exciting! Here we have Jesus basically annoying the Pharisees during this time period...

Zealotry (Zealotry) was originally a political movement in 1st century who sought to incite people in the first century against the Roman empire.


So we arrive at the notion that this guy was looking for the kingdom of God to overthrow the Roman rule of Israel.

T-13 days The Death of Lazarus

Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead. - John 11:14


It will take 4 days for Jesus to get to Bethany to raise Lazarus from the dead. In that he lay in the grave so long ought prove to many that this is indeed the messiah.

T-12 Days - Jesus making his way back to Bethany! Pilate's wife troubled with dreams about Jesus. Pilate was not a home boy like Herod and wasn't that interested in the politics of the area.
