Yes, I think this persuasive. I am not so cynical as to think repentance is a sham, having been through the process personally, and with some still to go. But what, precisely, do you mean by God's grace?

Greetings …. See, God’s grace is so abounding that He will not accept anything we could possibly give as a recompense for His love. He will love us just as we are—unworthy, godless, miserable sinners—freely.

“But the generosity of our God is commended to us in that He loved his enemies, and while we were yet sinners in due time Christ died for us.” He “will have mercy on whom He will have mercy” because of His awesome overflowing GRACE. Think about this for a second….God does not love because Christ died, but Christ died because the Father loved. “For God sooooooo loved the world that HE GAVE His only begotten Son…” It is all about our Father's all-sufficient GRACE that He says to us "I will love them freely.”

Comfort Ye My People
by Lamb

Album: Lamb II

No more will you turn to another for help
Nor will you turn to yourself, to yourself
Nor will you say, "Our God" to some other
For in Me you'll find mercy, wo-o-o-o

I will heal your wrong ways
I will love you so freely
You will dwell beneath My shadow
I will be as the dew to My people
And they will blossom as the lily, wo-o-o-o

Your beauty will be like the olive tree
Your fragrance as Lebanon, Lebanon
You will live as a well watered garden
And you will flourish like the vine, wo-o-o-o

I will heal your wrong ways
I will love you so freely
You will dwell beneath My shadow
I will be as the dew to My people
And they will blossom as the lily, wo-o-o-o

Comfort ye My people
Comfort ye My people
Comfort ye My people
Comfort ye MY people

Jesus said to the rich young ruler, "There is none good except God Himself". That is good enough for me.

In fact, knowing that God is good is the most terrifying knowledge to have. This is because mankind, through Adam's sin, is essentially bad, and what would a good God do with bad people? Totally reject them.

Hello 2ndRateMind,

An Evil God would not allow a fair chance for all people to be make the choice to either have faith or not to have faith.

A Good God allows people to make their choices freely even at the expensive of every moment of advice and may have come through the radios and sound waves of traveling news that involves (Romans 10:17) Jesus Christ, and a person making a choice to believe or not to believe. God is good (Nahum 1:7; Exodus 34:6; 1 Chronicles 16:34; Psalms 25:8; Ezra 3:11) , he also created everything good (Genesis 1:31). Though you and all people can not compare to Gods commandments (Which was never given to us though you or I have done something against the Commandments: James 2:10) which God can not break himself (Exodus 20). So God is a good God, and He desires to have all people to understand the truth (1 Timothy 2:1-4), and loves all people because God loves all mankind (John 3:16) all mankind in the Kosmos; and their are just those who simply do not desire to have anything with God, they prefer the darkness instead of light (John 3:10-20).

So to me a Good God allows choice and is a God who is also about allowing people to have their own choice in the matter. A God who is also know to have the characteristic of not only Good, but also Love (1 john 4:7-21).

That is how my mind creates that scenario 2ndRateMind,
Regards and thank you for reading,
Matthew G.

I can understand this position. Generally, we tend to think that what is good is what is good for us. More advanced thinkers may hold that what is good is what is good is what is good for our own society, nation or world. And that is where the scope for debate creeps in.

Best wishes, 2RM.
no debates needed
you just need to know what good truly means for God not for other people

no debates needed you simply need to read the word of God since there's tons of "good" in there

not the "good" you used to "know" but the "good" God knows

and since "no one" can save you but your "own choices" just like how you "asked" God not to let you "fall" into "temptation" but you yourself "walk into temptation" is it God's fault that you fall no right but your fault

I think you've made an important point. I, too, regard what God thinks to be good as objectively good. And the scriptures relate, at least in part, humanities development in understanding that term. Where we differ is that I think we have some way to go before we can make a claim to that understanding.

Best wishes, 2RM.

Man's understanding of goodness is what is subjectively good; what is good for him and those he loves. God's understanding of goodness is what is objectively good; what really is good. Does that help?

Best wishes, 2RM.

He gave me the spine to resist temptation, and showed me what Jesus had had to do to give me that spine.

Best wishes, 2RM.

Hello Friend in Christ 2RateMind,

Okay. God is good (Nahum 1:7; Exodus 34:6; 1 Chronicles 16:34; Psalms 25:8; Ezra 3:11, Mark 10:18) (period).

Interestingly enough He gave us air to breathe.

The temptation thing haha, we all still fall under that sometimes no one is perfected my friend. Jesus gives people more abundant life in living in the spirit rather than the flesh (Galatians 5:13-26). The flesh gives us so many problems with the way it works, and it's own desires which feed our temptation ( James 1:14) in which you, whoever, and I make the choice to do whatever it is be it yes or no (Matthew 5:37).

(Galatians 5:13-26) (John 15) One way to reduce the flesh to cause it to be less, hateful, greedy, selfish, lustful, prideful, sometimes arrogant, is to allow God and Jesus Christ to work on ones heart, as the individual continues to learn about God and the Son of God. Believe that God can deliver any person from the darkness (Colossians 1:13) if that person just made the decision to choose God and to seek (Hebrews 11:6) out and love God would be of great benefit especially with having Jesus Christ (John 6:25-29) in your life; the one who appeased (Romans 3:25) God's anger on all mankind, so that people can live a life of peace even though some suffering is still gone through while hear on earth just as Jesus had suffered until the death on the cross and resurrection. The only coming wrath was to come upon Jerusalem (Luke 13:34). Which in my opinion happened in 70ad. Therefore no last days, they lived in the last days, and Jesus came back to get the bride back then that was bring brought forth during the workings of God in this process, in accordance with the context of scripture.

God is good. Forever and always will be good, God can not lie, Nor can God do any evil whatso ever.

It is so interesting that these verses exist in the bible to me 2NdRateMind; It is amazing in their own measure of weight.

1 Peter 3:
14But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear what they fear; do not be shaken.” 15But in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give a defense to everyone who asks you the reason for the hope that is in you. But respond with gentleness and respect, 16keeping a clear conscience, so that those who slander you may be put to shame by your good behavior in Christ. 17For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.18For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit, 19in whom He also went and preached to the spirits in prison 20who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built.
