Do we understand the Kingdom of God
We see Jesus going through the cities and villages of Galilee preaching ... But what was his message? Above all else his message must have been truth and a message that even the simple hearted could understand.

The Gospels supply the answer: he was "preaching and showing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God" (Luke 8:1), or "the gospel of the kingdom" (Matt. 4:23; 9:35). Jesus was telling good news about God's coming Kingdom; and what this meant was so well understood by early readers that Matthew refers to it simply as "the kingdom" without defining what kingdom.

When Jesus sent forth his disciples to teach, it was with the same message (Luke 9:2). Many in the earth profess to “admire” Jesus; many claim to love and follow him as Christians. Many here in this forum proclaim openly a love for Jesus Christ and desire to draw near to him that they may have a hope of that Kingdom.

But do we truly “desire” to know what he taught concerning this coming Kingdom?

What is this Kingdom?

Is it only a figure of speech for the influence Jesus wields over men's minds? Does it mean the community of believers who acknowledge his leadership? Does it exist now, without disturbing the political structure of nations and empires? Or, on the other hand, ought we to understand this "kingdom" to have as precise a meaning as the Kingdom of Great Britain, or the United Sates of America?

Many of the answers to these questions can be found in his commands and those whom he desired to received them in faith. Paul says that the good news about Christ is about his Kingdom, and forgiveness of sins through him Paul defines it as "the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth" (Rom. 1:16). Jesus himself says: "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved: and he that believeth not shall be condemned" (Mark 16:16 ; see also 1 Cor. 15:2,). According to Jesus and his apostles, the difference between believing and not believing is the difference between life and death.

We are told "The God of heaven shall set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever" (Dan. 2:44.)

"The Lord shall be king over all the earth" (Zech. 14:9).

"The kingdoms of this world ... become the kingdoms of our Lord and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever" (Rev. 11:15).

We are also told this future Kingdom on earth will be the ancient kingdom of Israel restored.

"Wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?" (Acts 1:6).

"In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen" (Amos 9:11).

"The kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem" (Micah 4:8).

"I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me ... ye shall sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel" (Luke 22:29, 30).

Therefore the establishment of this Kingdom will require the Jews to be gathered from their present state in all the earth, and restored to their own land (Israel), which will become the capital of the kingdom of God on earth.

"He that scattered Israel will gather him" (Jer. 31:10).

"He shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth" (Isa. 11:12).

"I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land" (Ezek. 37:21).

Jerusalem will become the capital city of the whole earth.

"At that time shall they call Jerusalem the throne of the Lord" (Jer. 3:17).

"The Lord of Hosts shall reign in Mount Zion, and in Jerusalem" (Isa. 24:23).

"Then shall Jerusalem be holy" (Joel 3:17).

Christ's accepted people will reign with him, and inherit the kingdom when these glorious things are fulfilled.

"If we suffer, we shall also reign with him" (2 Tim. 2:12).

"He that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations, and he shall rule them" (Rev. 2:26).

"The saints of the Most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever" (Dan. 7:18, 27).

"Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom" (Matt. 25:34).

This post has been initiated in the hope of generating discussion about this coming Kingdom. We can draw on passages like Isaiah 65 and many other which speak to this magnificent time on Earth. Abraham look forward to a physical city who would be built by God, for God’s children. In these last days where the earth is growing dark and the light of Gods truth is being overshadowed by corruption and greed which is in the world because of lust, we must endeavour to keep a clear vision of this Kingdom before us, else we perish Prov 29:18. Within Prov 29 we can see our King and what he will be like, and how he will judge the earth in righteousness.

Feel free to search out this Kingdom and in searching I pray the door is opened and he who freely gives answers.

Amos 9:13-15
Behold, the days are coming," declares the LORD, "when the plowman shall overtake the reaper and the treader of grapes him who sows the seed; the mountains shall drip sweet wine, and all the hills shall flow with it. I will restore the fortunes of my people Israel, and they shall rebuild the ruined cities and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and drink their wine, and they shall make gardens and eat their fruit. I will plant them on their land, and they shall never again be uprooted out of the land that I have given them,"

These future verses speak to a time when Jesus Chris will remove the curse upon the earth (Gen 3:17-19) as a result of Adams & Eves sin. Instead of regular drought and famine (Amos 1:2; Amos 4:6-8) there will be abundant harvests (also see Lev 26:3-5; Deut 28:4,5,8,11,12).

You may be interested to know in 2010 the planet experienced a first; the earth failed to produce sufficient food to feed all of its inhabitants from this year’s harvests. We ate (pardon the pun) into our stores of gain and wheat, primarily due to weather conditions and natural disasters.

However this future speaks of a land so productive that farmers planting seed for the next harvest would push reapers of the same fields to finish their work, so they could plant the next crop.

It is well known today Israel plough their fields in October, and harvest towards the end of May, but in the future reaping would still be going on in October because of the huge harvests. Wine makers will push their farmers to sow more seed. Grape harvests take place in August, and farmers planted new vines in November. Harvests will be so abundant gathering of one crop would not end before it was time to begin the new crop.

While Israel has many trials to face before this abundant time, God left them with assurance...

I (God) will plant them (Israel) on their land (Palestine), and they shall never again be uprooted out of the land that I have given them,"

Here are some verses to support this wonderful promise by God to Israel.

Gen 13:14,15; 17:7,8; Deut 30:1-5; 2Sa 7:10; Jer 30:10-11; Eze 37:25; Joel 3:17-21; Mic 4:4-7; Zech 14:11).

God also reassured them they will no longer fear being in exile among other nations (Amos 4:2-3; 5:5,27; 6:7; 7:11,17; 9:4) but would be secure from every enemy. Lev 26:7,8; Deut 28:7,10.

Certainly these promises are yet to be fulfilled in the earth.

Joel 3:17-18
Joe 3:17 "So you shall know that I am the LORD your God, who dwells in Zion, my holy mountain. And Jerusalem shall be holy, and strangers shall never again pass through it.

One of the primary reasons for the Masters return is not to rebuke the Gentiles, although this will take place in due time, or to chastise and punish the pride of Judah, but to speak so plainly that without question the one true God (Yahweh) is in fact unmistakably seen to be the "one true God of Israel". Besides whom there is none other!

If we applied this to this present age in which we live. This “Lord your God” is not Allah, nor is it the Triune God of the Catholic Church, but rather the One True God of Israel. Duet 6:4

He it is whom the Jews worship today. They are yet to accept His son but their meeting will eventuate in a great pouring out of grief for the one whom they pierced. Zech 12:10

Jesus Christ and the saints will perfectly manifest Yahweh in the Earth. His name means: He (God) who will be revealed in a group of mighty ones (Saints). Of which Jesus Christ the...first fruits of mighty ones 1 Cor 15:23.

Where see they dwell?

Of course He (in them) will dwell in Zion, His holy mountain. Where else? 2Ch 6:6; 12:13; Psa 125:1; 132:13 and so on...

As a result of the glorified saints dwelling in Jerusalem she will become a holy city, not one of Cathedrals and Mecca, no Wailing Wall will be there, nor will profit making be allowed to a city opened to tourists. The history of a city who makes God angry will be removed and in its place a temple far out-matching even the best days of David or Solomon or Hezekiah.

A vision of great beauty will be Jerusalem not to be compared to any city in all the earth.

Joe 3:18 “And in that day the mountains shall drip sweet wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the streambeds of Judah shall flow with water; and a fountain shall come forth from the house of the LORD and water the Valley of Shittim.

This land will only need the blessing to those glorified saints and nothing will restrain its fertility. Truely it will become a land flowing with milk and honey where grass and flowers grow in abundance.

I perceive unimaginable prosperity in the Land of Israel during the Kingdom of God:

Are you familiar with the Greek word katakrino, it's use in the scriptures and it's meaning?

Hello Jigglyfly

To be honest I had to look it up but if you have something to share please do.

Alethos

KJV translated the Greek words krino and katakrino as condemn and condemned which can cause some misunderstanding especially today with modern English. Most understand condemn(ed) to mean sentenced to death but actually there is no reference to any sentencing but rather means to judge or a judgment against in the sense of being judged and found guilty with no reference to any specific punishment.

It's my understanding that the kingdom of God is here now in the believer and will be here physically in the future.

Hello Butch

We are certianly commanded to walk as children of light and therefore one might say the spiritaul Kingdom is in the Earth, however we await the Master for the New Heavens and Earth to be established from Jerusalem.

God Bless

Hi my brother in Christ Jesus and fellow ambassador of the kingdom of God. I hope to add my thoughts and what God has given to me on the topic of the kingdom of God.

First of all the kingdom of God is coming and some of it has already began to take up dominion. The church is not some phony religious institute it is the educational and training ground for the kingdom of God. When you come to church you should be educated on God, King-High Priest Jesus and the coming kingdom of God. You should receive you battle directions and charges and go out and wage war against the demonic forces. We are not waging a war as little old church ministers as mr and ms good christian but as warriors and ambassadors for the Kingdom of God! We are not fighting a war of conquering but a war of crushing rebellion! We have the power (exousia) over the world and systems of this age. We legislate the world while the kingdom of God is being ushered in. Jesus the Christ has given us power to expand and build up the kingdom of God. But we are stuck in the church age and religious mindset that we are not ready for the Kingdom mindset. But God is sending and commissioning people to procliam, inform and impart the wisdom, knowledge and understanding of the kingdom of God. But many of us are not responding to it.

Isa 2:2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.

The beginning of this glorious Kingdom begins with a stone cut without hands which becomes a great mountain filling the earth cp Dan 2:35,44; Zec 14:10. The return of Jesus Christ will see the eventual destruction of the earthly powers styled Kingdoms of men Dan 2:44 and this Kingdom will be established upon the top of all other mountains (Nations) Jer 51:24,25; Zec 4:7. Once Jerusalem is established as the capital city in the Earth and Jesus Christ is enthroned upon his Father David’s throne. Only then will all nations stream to it Jer 31:12 Jer 3:17; Mic 4:2; Isa 52:1,2; 62:1-7.

Isa 2:3
And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

Imagine a time when people are enthused to go up (spiritually) in mind and body to Jerusalem. Later prophets also longed for a time when the inhabitable would speedily seek to pray and love the ways of the Lord. Jer 31:12; 50:5; Zec 8:21,22.

But notice why they are so filled with desire to go up to Jerusalem? To hear Jesus teach of his ways, so that we (natural Israel) may walk in his paths. See Zec 8:20-22; 14:16-19. Have we got this eagerness to learn of His ways today? Do you read and meditate upon the Word of God everyday so these visions are living; allowing us to see afar off Heb 11:13 that we may walk in His ways now with eagerness to learn.

Compare this verse against the indignant accusations of Isaiah 1:10 where God viewed His people as a leprous man.

Isa 1:5 Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head (thinking) is sick, and the whole heart (emotions) faint.

Isa 1:6 From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.

Such a dramatic change in the earth and its inhabitants; from leprous feet to joy filled feet who carry a great message of hope and love Isa 52:7 & Rom 10:15. This will be the new “normal” where people will speak openly about God and His Son and delight in the work of His hands.

Isa 2:4 And he (Jesus) shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

Personally speaking I look forward to seeing Jesus judge the nations with equity and in righteousness. Imagine watching Jesus settle disputes between nations the kind we see today, and know that every command is right with no possibility of error. Compare Isa 11:4. We are told Jesus will rebuke the nations afar off: Mic 4:3. He will first "break in pieces" (Dan 2:45; Psa 2:9; Rev 2:27), but then rule with a rod of iron (Psa 110:2; Rev 19:15).

The saints with Christ will train the nations to return to agriculture and learn war no more. You may not know this but after the Assyrians were devastred outside Jerusalem, after the destruction of Sennacherib's host. Israel would have turned these metal objects into garden instruments. One only wonders with all the armourment in the earth how much of it will be transformed in to forks and shovels?

“nor will they train for war anymore” In short, wars will cease Psa 46:9; Hos 2:18.

And peace and righteousness will flow from Jerusalem.
