Isaiah 40:9-11 O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain;O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God! Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and His arm shall rule for Him: behold, His reward is with Him, and His work before Him. He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: He shall gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

Zion Get up into the high mountain. Zion is symbolic of the man child, the saints…in heaven while walking the earth. They have been translated. They bring good tidings, revelations of the Word, to Jerusalem…the church.

Jerusalem Lift up your voice, be not afraid and speak to the cities of Judah. Jerusalem is symbolic of the church. She brings good tidings to others but she is not Zion.

Cities of Judah Behold your God! Hear the good tidings of Zion and Jerusalem. Who are the cities of Judah symbolic of? Our Jewish brethren?

40:26 Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: He calleth them all by names by the greatness of His might, for that He is strong in power; not one faileth.

Those He has called “by name” shall not fail!

40:29-31 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

In the great tribulation even some of the [saints, the very elect, the man child/young men] shall fall! There is NO once saved always saved! To continue on the path to salvation one must “wait upon the Lord.” What does that entail? I see three possible meanings:

1. Wait on the Lord as in…serve the Lord.

2. Wait on the Lord as in.. look for Him, expect Him.

3. Wait on the Lord as in…not fall into apostasy. Wait on the True Savior, knowing the fake comes first.

A child of God should do all three. If one omits the third then that one falls.

Isaiah 41:4 Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am He.

He called this last generation from the beginning. The elect are destined to fight with Him in this time and He is with the last. They were predestined to be born in this time, this generation, the generation of the fig tree.

41:8-13 But thou, Israel, art My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham My friend. Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art My servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away. Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of My righteousness. Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish. Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

What a wonderful promise. He is with us and holds our hand!
