I was awoken today by pain in my feet. They are swollen, perhaps my untreated Lupus is the cause. They are changing color because of the blood vessels that are bursting in them, but I don't mind having different-colored feet.
I've been having cramps from my feet to my knees for a few days. My sciatica's worse than normal, but after 2 days, my migraine seems to be settling down. I despaired earlier, but the Lord assured me that He has a plan for my life.
But I do have a good attitude at the moment. I know that this too shall come to an end. And then it gets good! :)

Truman, I thought of you and thought of my memory verse.
2nd Corinthians 4:17-18

17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Today was really nice. Spent it with my husband. Will miss him but am learning to cope with being alone by staying busy.

So I filled out my application to the senior center to volunteer for telecare calls. I think Ill drop it off in person. I want them to go ahead and see that Im eager to call a client.

They have been completely lax this whole time, I hope they take it to heart that I want to volunteer.

I think you'd be great for it!
My day has been better. I was speaking with my worship pastor friend and described my back pain and swollen feet. She's worked with dialysis patients before and I suppose I need to talk to my doctor. Sigh.
It could be worse...it's been 17 years since I lost my mother. Sigh
Yahweh...faithful one...to the end!
Thank You, Jesus, for another day! Shalom.

It's late but I know I had a good time at the bonfire my friend from volunteering invited me to.

It was my second time ever roasting marshmallows and the whole experience was incredible. I got along well with the group.

My husband thinks my desire to lose weight is negatively affecting me. Like I put too much of my worth into it. Maybe, after sleep Ill respond better.

Perhaps he is right but it is frustrating to think that something you put so much time and effort into could be negative.

Today, I am being hit with all kinds of wild temptations left and right.

The Bible says these come from within but could it also be an attack from the enemy as well. Lately I have been growing in my faith, ministry, and self-control. Maybe Satan doesn't like that.

Most of these particular temptations aren't very strong individually. It's almost like I'm being sifted as wheat like Peter. Whatever will get me off this Narrow Path is being thrown at me.

I will have to watch and pray like Jesus warned us to do.

@Wynona It's of course easy to analyze a lot but the writer to the Hebrews (Hebrews 12.2) exhorts his readers to keep "looking unto Jesus" and if we concentrate prayerfully on searching the Scriptures, then our minds are less likely to be filled with other things that are harmful.

I did have to pray more and get alone with God. I have made it to the book of Daniel in my Scripture reading!

I wish that everyone could be happy. But when I sinned, I learned from it and got back in God's will. I think people are trying to be happy but not trying to surrender their will to God's.

God's ways are unconventional and look foolish in the eyes of the world. But the pain of not being in His will taught me a valuable lesson.

My goals and independence were not better than God's will.

God's will ended up making me a happier person than mine.

Of course, suffering is inevitable in this life. But many are suffering needlessly, due to their love of their own ways.

Today, I sent off a Christmas present overseas to my UK friend. It was a small challenge but worth it.

I also sent my husband a message saying I was wrong and he was right about something.

I used to scold him about not showing enough grace to evil people. But I was wrong. God's grace, biblically speaking, is not unlimited for all people.

Isaiah 26:10 NIV

10 But when grace is shown to the wicked,
they do not learn righteousness;
even in a land of uprightness they go on doing evil
and do not regard the majesty of the Lord.

So I wanted to clarify that his attitude was correct in wanting things to be right and for wicked people to be punished.

Personally, I think there's a lack of balance in today's church because many theologies are built around verses that emphasize grace to the point of ignoring the severe warnings against sin and especially hypocrisy.

You can definitely hear it in the music that comes on contemporary Christian radio.

Today I helped the staff where I volunteer decorate for the banquet we are putting on for a fundraiser.

It's an important night for the ministry and I was glad I was able to help.

Plus, my friend K was so kind as to drop me off after getting me lunch because my husband has the car with him. She is so kind.

K has a suitor that I am rooting for and today she told me that the young man came to her sister's church to ask her advice. K wants to focus on her counseling and so doesn't want to date right this second. I can tell she is interested but I said nothing so as not to make her double back on what she said like before.

She's a bit like a flighty bird in that regard. Instead, I just maintained that if its meant to be from the Lord, she can put dating on pause, and he'll be right there should she decide she's ready to date.

Inwardly, I was thrilled at the idea of the two dating, but I have to be wise and not frighten miss bird into not dating him. She tends to overthink.

Anyway, Im looking forward to the banquet tonight. I already have my dress on that Im going to wear. I wish my husband could go but he is at work.

We are to speak the truth in love...sometimes the truth hurts.
"…5Better an open rebuke than love that is concealed. 6The wounds of a friend are faithful, but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful." - Proverbs 27:6

I used to be bad about not wanting to offend my friends.

But a sincerely meant truth ultimately earns people's respect more in the long run. My husband has taught me the value in speaking the truth well.
You don't want to hurt anyone! But sometimes by not speaking the truth, you actually end up hurting them in the long run.
I have this attitude because while at a retreat many years ago, a staff member told me the truth about me that I needed to hear.
We need to be sensitive, led by the Spirit, and at the right time...brave!
