I met my last wife at church, and we had 8 wonderful years together. My health got in the way of our marriage though. Internet can be good but does not replace the real thing. I watch online Mass often, but it doesn't compare to going to church and attending service there.

When you said your health got in the way of your marriage, I felt that!

Let's just say Ive been there.

@FluffyYellowDuck Fare thee well sister! May God richly bless you wherever you are walking with Him. The Internet is not all that there is!

Books and other people. I still have trouble with the internet but try to make use out of it somehow, by sharing things here. But overall it’s good to take time to read and spend time with others or whatever you wanna do. The internet is a tool of the world it can become addicting like anything else so breaks are good to do as well.

Your brain overall will start to change if you completely just don’t use it at all, don’t know what you like to do. I read, use my computer for Bible studies and lesson and learning at home I don’t have internet there but still have this phone I can use if I choose to which I still have problems with it.

It’s difficult but last night reading Hebrews Jesus struggled with temptations and He understands what we go through and after reading that I thought about the 1 Corinthians 10:13 verse that all people have the same problem but relying on God he will show you a way out.

Yes we went to have IVF treatment to have children. I got an infection from the treatment and had to be put on pain killers which lasted a few years and a second surgery. My mental health declined and my wife didn't want to be my wife any more. Now I still drink but I have a lot of sober days. Still feel pain. But I am grateful every day that I'm off of those pain killers. Now the pain is just emotional and I'm learning how to quit the alcohol.

your Health got in the way of your marriage . Would you mind explaining that .
I have no idea what you meant . But let me say one thing .
I have noticed the problem with marriages . There is one single problem that causes the massive failure of many a marriage .
THE LOVE OF SELF and HOPE in this life and in this world .
Self is a monster that destroys anything it touches .
What did you mean by your health . Did you have bad health .

You've gone through things that would've broken most people.

It would not be fun; but I've told my wife, if our nation declared Christianity illegal, internet, cell phones - anything that can be monitored or tacked would be shut down!

Before I take a break from the internet, I wanted to do this post.

If you had to quit the internet for life, how would you do it? We rely so much on the internet.

Even when I mostly quit for a year, I still had a Kindle. This time I don't, which means I would rely on things I didn't have to before...

Cookbooks, crochet and knitting books, tailoring, I'd have to go back to the store to buy information and use a handheld calculator - just like the pilgrims did.

We would have to use Lisa Frank stationary to communicate.
What did we do before the net was invented?

Go retro! ☎️

I struggle a lot with going to church. Last time I went, I broke down in tears because I was having such a hard time, and then the pastor stopped the worship team to pray about depression.

Every time I went there was always a false prophecy of the week.

I don't know if I'm actually ready to find a new one. Wherever I go, I'd be going alone with my oldest and I don't know if I'm ready to try again.
@FluffyYellowDuck Good when a local congregation practises Acts 2.42 in Biblical simplicity....
