What a great idea. We could combine bible verses with workout, worship music and perhaps swap some recipes. I like low carb so hoping some of you folk have some good recipes for that....
I would be interested in knowing if there is any food that is unique to New Zealand, a nationwide popular dish.

Pavlova. Been trying to find a pic of one I made last year but unable to find so I just got one off the internet and will post a pic here after Christmas...

Yay!!! I finally found the pics and replaced the internet pic with the pav I made. Not as big but still delicious!

My apologies for the off topic post. Perhaps we can start another thread about food around the world on another thread and...now I'm hungry o_O

Yes, it is hard doing at alone. I believe that we need to take care of this mortal body God gave us that houses the Holy Spirit.

P.S. What is "piriformis syndrome"?
Its that thing where for some people if you don't have enough muscle where you're sitting, it causes lower back pain and mess with your sciatic nerve or something.

I dont know if I'm saying that correctly but that is the best understanding I have..

I'm in. Almost 70, ride an exercycle 10 mi 5 days a week. 25 pushups a night, and weights (only 10 lbs though) 3 days a week. Have a 10 lb kettlebell, but not sure how to use it effectively. My problem is , I like bread. I never feel full. Love a home cooked meal--I mean a 1950s-1960s home cooked meal. Well rounded loaded with calories.
I could really use some filler up recipes that were low in calories. I have a sweet tooth as well

Help!
You could add rice. You have to watch the carbs if you have blood sugar problems though. Rice kicks me into high blood sugar. But when I used to work out, and I could bench press 300 lbs and Squat 250, I used to mix tuna fish or shredded chicken with a cup of rice and a can of cream of mushroom or celery. It's only good seasoned though, but fills you up and most of the calories just burn themselves off by digestion. It's super good workout fuel.

I keep getting lower back pain and I walk hills everyday. I was wondering what I can do to build up muscle in my flanks.

Toe-touchers would stretch those out.
I used to do those and stopped just to walk the hills. I guess I need to add those back in. My back was improving then the last couple of days hasn't been good.

When I went to Hawaii we had a pig roast that was cooked in the earth. It was the best pork I have ever had. They really know how to cook it. The most I ever did was cook fish and chicken on rocks on top of a fire.

Well get them marching boots on and let the LORD be praised . And if you are able , you just dance a jig of praise
around that house . That will get the blood a flowing .

Yes, praise dance is the cardio part of my workout, then I use bands as the muscle building part; then I do worship as my cool-down part.

I have a stationary bike that I like to ride to get fit. I must admit though, I haven't used it for a while. It's great because I can chrome cast a video of someone riding through various places. All you can see is their front handle bars. I just watch it and pretend I am riding through some wonderful trails and riding tracks. I use to go to the gym every day but got injured using a stepping machine which has slowed my fitness progress down a little bit. I also love using the cross trainer at the gym. Looking forward to getting back to it again....

I was just making sure the siatic nerve aint involved .
It may be, not totally sure. It has gone down my leg. But normally it's my middle back on the one side. If I sit too long it hurts and starts cramping up.

I talked to the lady at the bakery and she said she has the same thing and has to worry about overdoing it because then she's down for two weeks which is the same thing that happens to me.
