"It (the law) can never, by the same sacrifices offered year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship. 2If it could, would not the offerings have ceased? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt the guilt of their sins.3Instead, those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins" Hebrews 10:1-3
The old covenant sacrifices could not clear the conscience of the worshipper, and so they felt the guilt of their sin, despite the fact that the sin that could be forgiven was indeed forgiven. Until the next time they sinned. Then another sacrifice was required. All that system does is remind you what a sinner you are.
There is so much you need to learn about the era and the Hebrews. Conscience of the Hebrews was not Christian and did not feel the guilt of Christians.
Men selling there daughters as sex slaves was not a sin, they did it of there own free will.
In war they killed all the men, non-virgin women and all male children and babies. Numbers 31:13-18 Deuteronomy 3:6
If you captured 32,000 virgin women and killed the rest, that would mean that probably 90,000 were non-virgins and they were killed along those that were pregnant.
The hard hearts of the Hebrews is well documented.....guilt....just what would they have to do to feel guilt?
At one time Moses' warriors brought back a lot of non- virgin women and he commanded them killed...again Numbers 31:13-18
What would it take for you to sword the belly of a pregnant woman? I think the guilt would drive you insane.
