What has God taught you or worked with you on this year that you are taking into next year?

For me, This year Ive learned that seeking God doesn't always involve a huge mountain-top experience since He often speaks in a still small voice.

I've learned that God is good and that there is such a sense of blessing in following Him.

I've begun to relate to Jesus more personally in my prayer life, rather than relating to Him as some distant figure. I can pray to Him about anything, anytime, even if it's just for the sake of communing.

The first church I attended was all about the money. The second church I attended taught false doctrine. The third church that I now attend is where they help the poor, the homeless, the mentally tormented. They are doing this without taking an offering. Iv'e never seen anything like it. I think God is going to bless this small town more than anyone can imagine. It gives me the chills to think about it. I believe we are about to see a revival that will go global....

Acts 2.42 was originally very radical...

To men perhaps but never to God. To God is it not simply a part of our reasonable service? The radical thing would be that men so seldom find those reasonable things as the only Way! And so then, "Jesus wept" [John 11:35]

"And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers." Acts 2:42

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." Rom 12:1

Those three things sound great . But do they teach a lot of bible doctrine as well . DO they correct error and sin .
Do they preach on BOTH the GOODNESS and SEVERITY OF GOD . Those must be included as well .

I am gonna give us some key words and phrases to look OUT for .
BRIDGE BUILDERS . Breaking down walls of division . Peace makers . ALPHA COURSE
Finding common ground . DECONSTRUCTING .
Churches that focus on doing good for the poor , for folks and YET ALL YOU HEAR IS UNITY Healing the wound or wounds of division .
AND VERY LITTLE SOUND DOCTRINE .
Churches that think things like rebuking sin is weapons of mass distraction
Or judgmental .
We better watch out cause we have us a social gospel that has crept in , an all inclusive pattern
that many have led into the churches and its getting much worse .
Building relationships .

I've had family members contact me to relate a dream or a vision and ask If I could interpret it. I keep saying that Interpreting dreams and visions is not really my strong gift but after a day or two, God usually will show me the meaning of such dreams or visions. Sometimes, it's just in a conversation with the said family member and then suddenly something inside me will click and I will shift from just talking casually to prophetic utterances.

The Holy Spirit just comes in and takes over. It's so sudden and it's like my mouth is talking, while my mind is catching up to what mouth is saying. My mind is able to understand what is being said and then I'm blown away because of the wisdom that's coming out of my mouth. I know it is not from me but the Holy Spirit....looking forward to more of this as it has helped many in the past

My own testimony is no less than Paul's road to Damascus experience... But over the years and more recently, I have developed a greater appreciation for times like Moses' 40 years in the desert, and stories like Gideon who's whole life did not make it into the scriptures, but just one amazing part. It leaves me knowing that my expectations are not the measure of the great promises of God, but rather that God does even greater things with less than I could have imagined. All of which leaves so many awesome things from God to look forward to--it's so exciting!

All of the parts are, you and me and @Wynona ,important in God's work. Those parts that were to be included in the written text of Scripture no more so than those who given functions elsewhere as part of the Body of Christ. Is it all in the Book?

"And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen." John 21:25

And that spoke only the works of the man, Jesus!

Consider this:

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father." John 14:12

So then to the OP of our sister @Wynona :
How much of God's work in us, you and me, has been accomplished this year?

"I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work." John 9:4

How close are we to a night in which we are unable to work? Don't quit while the Light remains or while we are the Light! Hmmm?

"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Matt 5:14-16

We shall see. So far everything I have heard sounds good. Mostly so far they have been preaching the gospel to save and have had some personal testimonies of drug addicts that Jesus saved. The Bible studies haven't been too deep yet. One thing they are teaching is that we will continue to sin even though we are trying not too. They are teaching that Jesus died for every one of us and every sin we have ever and will ever commit. All sin is premeditated and since all the sin we have ever committed hadn't happened before Jesus went to the cross for us. Makes sense to me. They are teaching how we are under grace not law.

@Mantis
Reminds me of Galatians 6.1-2:

"Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ."

I really love the posts you come up with. They are always very reflective and good things I would never think about.

I'm not sure if I'm ready to share mine, but I'm enjoying reading the ones from others.

Stay alert and on guard . I have seen this approach in some false churches as well . SO stay on gaurd .
Remember how paul approached sin and error . HE said LET it not once be named .
Remember how he even warned the corinthians , HE would come with a ROD unto all who had sinned
and had NOT YET REPENTED of said evil . THEY WERE VERY SERIOUS about sin .
And yes there is pattern . IF one does err , confess it , pray for healing , and cease it . The church MUST LOOK out for the church .

We hear lots of talk about downplaying sin in many churches these days
so now i am gonna bring us some sound reminders from the true ones .
JESUS , as forgiving and merciful as HE IS , often said NOW GO and SIN NO MORE .
Paul when speaking about sin , said WHOM we serve IS WHOSE WE ARE .
And often said Be not decieved its for these very things that the WRATH of GOD cometh upon the ungodly
SO DONT be partakers WITH THEM .
He said , LET it not once be named among you as becometh saints .
Let not inquity be once named among you .
And read the letter to the corinthians . Specially near the end of the second letter .
Now they were VERY serious about sin .
Paul when writing to the hebrews said , to exhort one another daily , LEST ANY DOES BECOME HARDENED THROUGH
the decietfulness of sin .
Why are we not hearing even any of these reminders today . Cause they are not following the original pattern IS WHY
and this has cost many a church its soul .
WE must be diligent in our walk . And we must LOOK out for one another and be in our bibles A WHOLE LOT .
GOD is not mocked , wrote paul , HE who sows to the flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption
but he who sows to the Spirit shall of the Spirit real LIFE everlasting .
Be not decieved by these men who downplay sin , GOD will not be mocked .
Let us instead be learning well our bibles . Keep by the HOLY GHOST the TRUTH in that bible .

I've learned that I need to sin less. So I'm working on that. To allow the Holy Spirit more into my life. I always enjoy peace from the holy spirit. It's a daily thing for me. God is good to me.
