Hi All!

I was thinking about this as I went into town tonight so I thought that it would make a fun game.

If you were to come to my country, I would have to take you "Spot Lighting"
It's possum hunting by flashlight usually armed with a .22 LR...hunting in the bush (forest) at night. lots of fun...

Hi honey!

Long time no see...missed ya heaps!

Bow fishing??? is that the same as spear fishing?

If you were to come to my country [my part of the woods] I'd have to take you eeling...another night time activity...you wade through the river carrying a gaff (hook on a long pole)
... the trick is to hook the eel and throw it onto the bank... fun ho! :p

I am glad to be back!

But really, bow fishing is simply fishing (on bank, on boat) with bows - It can also be done at nite time with spot light.

If you were to come to my country, i would let you tried my home-made salsa. :)

Well then...I'd have to raise you one and add my home made Pavlova [double layered with Kiwifruit topping] and some feijoa and grapefruit juice! mmmm...

If you came to my country...I would have to take you traveling through the ranges on an old fashioned, vintage steam locomotive.
PS: did ya make the bows yourself or do you buy them?

If you came to my country, I'd have to take you tramping up to the Doc huts [Dept of Conservation cabins, used for overnight stays, for trampers in the bush] It's a few hard hours tramping through rugged terrain and crossing a number of rivers...but it's fun :)

Hey, this is a fun topic.B) Hard for me to think of where here in the Pacific NW, US, since I lived in Alaska, US, for so long and I could make a long list for where I would take you there. But now having moved on..I would likely take you out to our nearest Wildlife preserve to take a walk and see the wonderful wild birds. But most of all I would like to drive you to the Pacific Coast to see the Ocean and the lovely little seaside towns and lighthouses (on the coast) there..and, of course, the interesting water fowl. Well, being a birdwatcher I sometimes assume everyone is.. Or I might make a list and ask you what sparks your interest most! There are some lovely old bookstores in our quaint downtown area and also the state capital is nearby.

Jumping off bridges!...it's a long way down without a bungy cord Rocky....but sounds kinda exciting. :)

If you were to come to my country, I'd have to take you to Rotorua where all the Geyers are...It's beautiful but the whole place smells like sulphur...:p

Jerusalem, Israel
We have a few places in Jerusalem you might like to visit. I usually suggest that a person make a wish list before coming. My favorite spot in the country is Tel Dan, just south of the Lebanon border. That site has antiquities dating back to Abraham, a nature reserve, a huge spring flowing with crystal clear water and a clear view of both Mt. Hermon as well as the Lebanon border. My balcony at home isn't a bad place either. I can see from Jerusalem to Jordan on a clear day.

Great pictures of Big Sur, Robbie. I love the CA coast line and especially enjoy Monterey. If that is you in the photo you sure don't look 74 to me and you must have been joking about your age on the other thread. I believed you!

Tehilah, that would be a wonderful experience...with so many biblical places there to see! :)

Jerusalem has a wide variety of ethnic foods. As for churches, you're kidding, right? Most of the Christian sites in Israel have a church sitting either on top or next to them.

Hi Tehilah!

"a wide variety of ethnic foods", like what?
...no, I'm not kidding...I'm from NZ and have no idea what Jerusalem is like...but it sounds like a place I'd really like to visit particularly biblical sites. Now that would be awesome! ;)

haha... 74 was the year I was born = ) Yeah... Big Sur is amazing... my favorite camping trip I took last summer...

Yeah, I was really impressed that at 74 you were a surfer. :) But I am still impressed by anyone of any age who tackles the waves. Did you see "Soul Surfer?"

Some of my favorites:
Kubbe=ground beef mixed with spices, wrapped in a corn meal shell and deep fried.
Falefal= ground garbanzo beans (Chickpeas) mixed with spices and made into a ball which is deep fried. The balls are then inserted into a pita with salads, houmous, tehinah, fries and anything else you decide to add. Lots of people add a fiery hot sauce.
Stuffed grape leaves
Shwarmah= chicken pieces stacked on a skewer with slices of lamb fat that spins in front of an open flame until it sizzles. The meat is shaved of the outer part of the stack and served in a pita with much the same extras as mentioned in the Falefal above.
Shnitzel= chicken breast hammered flat, breaded and deep fried
St. Peter's fish= Talapia grilled over charcoal and served whole.
Fucacia= You probably have these flat breads locally, don't you?
Houmous served with hot meat
Houmou served with pine nuts
Charcoal grilled steak
Moraccan cigars=meat or potato in a pastry roll served deep fried
We have a wide variety or local salads made with things like eggplant, houmous, salty cheeses, sweet potato chips and seeds
Our green produce is amazingly fresh since it is usually less than two days from the field to the table.
Our fruits are wonderful and include things like pomegranate, guava, plums, grapes, persimmons, papaya, citrus including pamelo (A cross between a grapefruit and a tangerine), I could go on and on.
