10 “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn. 11 In that day there shall be a great mourning in Jerusalem, like the mourning at Hadad Rimmon in the plain of Megiddo. 12 And the land shall mourn, every family by itself: the family of the house of David by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of the house of Nathan by itself, and their wives by themselves; 13 the family of the house of Levi by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of Shimei by itself, and their wives by themselves; 14 all the families that remain, every family by itself, and their wives by themselves. Zechariah 12:10-14
Jeremiah was a prophet to Judah before the destruction of the city of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar's armies. Zechariah was a prophet to the remnant returning from captivity at least 70 years later. While much of Zechariah is Messianic and can be applied to the "church age," This prophecy is very specific in regard to the physical descendants of Abraham and could only apply to the church if the church encompasses descendants of those families.

Firstly, Jeremiah does not say ALL of Judah. We know from many other prophesies that only a remnant of Judah will survive the end times events.
Secondly, after 100 generations, the gene pool of Israel is thoroughly diluted and every person alive today must have at least a smidgen of Abrahams genes.

Whatever the case; scripture is plain; only those who accept Jesus now and obey His Commandments, are the children of God.

I won't argue against this, but I find 12,000 from each tribe mourning over the Lord in scripture and yes, that's only a remnant, but:
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Matthew 7:13
I'm pretty sure that this applies to those who profess belief in the Lord as well, while entertaining doubt in their hearts.
Genuine faith is at the center of the matter and it's never been something that we can stir up in ouselves.
