I saw the surgeon today for the biopsy results. The good news is that they were unable to determine that #2 applies. The bad news is that they cannot say for certain that #1 or #3 apply either. The biopsy result was indefinite leaving them still with no real diagnosis. They still don't know what it is.

This is my new schedule:

On March 4 they will do another CT scan of the nodule checking again for changes.

After that another kind of biopsy would be done in which, rather than going through my airways like the first time, they insert a needle from outside through the chest wall to obtain a new sample from the nodule.

I really am tired of not knowing. Perhaps God wants to increase my patience.

Please continue to keep me and my wife in prayer.
Hoping it will go well on March 4....May the Scriptures be your strength and guide.

That must be so frustrating. The "don't know' state of mind is possibly worse than number 2. At least you can prepare for number 2. Likely already prepared should that eventuate, but the preparation along with peace of mind is far better.
May God bless you and your family as they struggle through this with you. You are blessed not to be alone.
Kia manawanui.
Kia ora.
Kia kaha.
You've got this bro. God is always good. All the time.

Yes, the indefinite thing is not so easy to take. Thank you for your continued concern!

Hello @amadeus I have read your thread to see what I can pray for. I see the doctors still are checking you. What your wife joked was hilarious. I never heard that kind of joke before. I will have to use something like that with my wife too. Maybe one this and her one that. or something. :) Well, I hope you can relax and I'm greateful to see your replies here and your trust in the Lord. It's encouraging to me. I often worry about every little thing in my body. I will pray for you brother and for your wife to have peace. I know God has this in His hands already. I'm glad your daughter is a registered nurse and can help you too. You have been through a lot. My dad has been through a lot too. He survived an aneurysm, hepatitis c, prostate cancer, colon cancer, and I can't remember what else. He's still alive and I'm happy. Still I know we all have to leave our earth tent soon, and I battle fear of death a lot, because of lack assurance of salvation, because of my sins, but I think God is helping me. I'm glad you were able to talk to nurses about your wife. That gives me an idea to talk to other women about my wife too. It will help with my own temptations. Thank you brother.

Heavenly Father, please touch brother John with all he needs. Lord, if it will please You, please remove the thing and let it be gone now in Jesus' name. Lord, please bless his wife and her back pains. Please give her rest from all of this medical and thank you for giving them each other. Thank you for his faith on this forum. Please continue to use him to reach more of the lost people around and far him. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

How annoying that you have to wait yet again, but as you say...patience! You seem to have it in spades brother....a praying for a good outcome and no worries for you or your wife.
Thank you, sister!

God is trying me indeed in this. Unfortunately, the nodule is in a place very hard for them to reach for a biopsy. Without knowing for sure that it is cancerous, they are very hesitant to simply go in and cut it out because of other dangers to me from the procedures... including the biopsies.

The surgeon warns that if the next biopsy produces no better results, a plan to remove the nodule without a clearer diagnosis would need to be considered. He says there too many danger signs to simply leave alone unless it actually improves. Improvement seems an unlikely expectation now unless God has a reason for it. We do not always know what God knows.

I'm sorry it is in such a difficult place, I pray either way that God will direct the hands of the doctor treating you, also that you and Kathy will be at peace with all of this...and of course, I am praying that there is ZERO cancer to be found.

We're in God's hands Amadeus.
I've learned this and have come to accept it.
I know you find your strength in Him and He does help us through everything.

Thank you, sister. I really try to simply go through each day carefully with Him. There are plenty of other things to keep me busy in the Lord without wasting time on worries like this as if it would do me or anyone any good.

We serve a God who really is able in every situation. Leaving it once more in His hands.

Hopefully nothing serious, but nonetheless please pray.

On routine X-Ray for primary care doctor they noted some kind of a mass in one of my lungs. They did a regular CT scan which confirmed something is there. This Friday they have scheduled a PET scan which uses some kind of a radioactive contrasting. They are concerned that it may be a cancer.

Thank you for your prayers.
Many thanks to everyone for the encouraging words and prayers. Maybe it is all a nothing, but God knows. I will advise one way or the other when I know something definite.

I have been gone for a while but hopefully not forgotten by all.

Last Wednesday they did the 2nd biopsy by inserting a needle into my lung. Today I visited the Thoracic surgeon to hear the results and decide what may be next. The nodule is cancerous and definitely growing. It is only stage I, so it is not immediately looking as bad as it might.

Surgery has been scheduled for November 15 to remove the lower lobe my right lung and certain related lymph nodes.

Many thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers.

We do serve a mighty God!

Amadeus I was wondering how you were doing? You're not forgotten. Thank you for updating.
Heavenly Father, I continue to pray healing mercies over amadeus. Thank you, LORD, it is a blessing that it has been kept an eye on in it's early stage and that it is only in the 1st stage. I pray LORD that You will keep the nodule from enlarging nor any lymph nodes. I continue to ask for Your healing over amadeus's lungs and his entire body. Praise You and thank You LORD that Your Will is being done, In Jesus Name, Amen

That isn't the best news but it is better than not finding it until it had already spread to other areas.
I am praying for you @amadeus. You have been sorely missed around here.
Speaking life and not death over you now and using my authority in Jesus name to declare that cancer to be removed and NEVER come back. For the angel of death to move on it isn't your time to go.
For Jehovah-Rapha (the Lord who heals) to heal you completely...body, mind and spirit. For Abba/Father to grant you many more years for His Word declares He will give us a long life and even restore us as the days of our youth.

God Bless you my brother.
