@Mayflower Trusting that prayer and the Scriptures will be at the heart of what you mention.
(Other influences are out there, but before the Lord, prayer, the Scriptures, fellowship, etc., are what build up spiritually in a healthy way.)

Inward struggle is something that men have to overcome.
How is the question.
God gives us the knowledge. God offers us a Gift.
God does MOST of the Work. And for the Work He does not DO FOR US, He gives us the “tools” (so to speak).
We freely choose call on the Lord, to Repent for not having Belief, Accept His offerings, AND Lay down our life for and with Him.
WHAT God gives to us IS: First of all forgiveness for having NOT believed in Him.
THEN....
His Works...Restores our soul...(ie Saves)
His Works...Gives us a new heart...(ie circumcision)
His Works...Quickens our spirit...(ie Births Again with His Seed)
His Works...Loans us Jesus’ risen body of live in, ‘till physical death.
His Promise...to Raise up our body in uncorruption...(Holy/Glorified)
Mean time...We have that....CARNAL MIND thingy going on...Hearing, Learning, daily, new knowledge, new information, pondering, thinking....AND?
THAT IS the INWARD STRUGGLE....
Carnal Minds thoughts .... and OUR NEW Hearts thoughts...Conflicting.
Mind thinks this....loose lips blurt out thoughts...Hearts thoughts saying, uh wait a minute....my heart does not agree with the minds thoughts.
Men call that.....a whole array of terms...depressed, anxious, psychotic, bi-polar....blah, blah.
Scripture tells us WHAT is the CAUSE; a Contradiction, Contrary, Conflict.
Gal 5:
[17] For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
What to do about it:
Rom 12:
[2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
What does that mean?
Inanutshell, MAKE YOUR CARNAL MINDS thoughts, subservient to the thoughts of your Heart.
WHY? Because....God did nothing to “CHANGE” your carnal minds thoughts.
*remember, He “changed” your soul and your spirit and your heart.
His Spirit entered your new Heart, to feed your new spirit; HIS TRUTH.
THAT....^ Gods Spirit of His Truth, feeding your new spirit in your new heart, is your “tools”, to make your “minds thoughts”, subservient to your hearts thoughts. And Gods “tools” (so to speak), come to you Packed with Gods Power, to help you accomplish....your works to MAKE your Carnal Mind, subservient to your Hearts thoughts.
No pills, No oooh I’m so depressed, poor me....You have the advantage of POWER over your Mind, and the “power tools” to accomplish taking hold of that power and using it.
Does that mean every day will be smooth sailing? No. Storms arise, God is there to get you through it. Use your power, Trust Him. It will pass.
What your MIND thinks is a devastating event, will send you into a tail spin, of minor things have to be resolved right now, of worry, of what if’s.
I don’t know what is fostering your particular inward struggle. I can guess...You are young, have little children, and likely a young husband, and trying to make ends meet... we have all been there.
A quick note of advice. Debt is a problem. Clean it up, avoid it. Money does not solve the problem. Enjoy the little children. Be their leader, not their follower. Husbands, ha, they typically mature After the children, don’t expect miracles, enjoy their company.
My Prayer for you is; For strength to use the “power tools” given you to make your Mind subservient to your Heart.

Dear Jesus, please help this women who needs Your help. Please give her the right way to go and the right mind and agreements of peace she is needing. Lord, please let her feel Your presence in these times. Thank you for all You are doing in her and her families life. We pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

Seems like this is the tribulation principle being referred to here, bearing in mind the Lord's victory already. Whereas the great tribulation of Matthew 24 seems to refer to a specific, future event.
