my ultimate home in heaven would first be secure (no thievery). No fear or loss. No decay or rot. Solidly built on an incorruptible foundation. Second) lots of rejoicing and warmth with receiving.

I loved your answer, Victory, and you're just the type of person I'm glad I posted the thread for. After a life of trusting Him in tough circumstances, I think you deserve the best, and I think you will get it. :)

About these things you mentioned here, there is no fear in Heaven. In some accounts they describe how you can walk underwater and breathe normal just like on land, so there's never any fear of drowning or anything like that, because nothing dies or can die. And there's never anything brown on the plants or trees; if a leaf falls to the ground it just disappears. Everything is alive with vibrant color unlike anything on earth. And they are constantly having parties and gatherings together in people's homes. @Backlit mentioned one time how cool it will be when one day we are finally able to all meet up with one another, and get to know one another in person, and share forum stories and stuff and reminisce. :) And there are supposedly amphitheaters everywhere throughout Paradise, where they have the most fantastic and powerful worship services where even the Lord Himself appears, and where the greatest preachers of the Faith take the platform and preach messages that bring people to their feet in standing ovation, praising God.

Sounds worth the wait, yes? :)

Cool I imagine my ideal home too

The more you go through in this life while still remaining faithful to God, the more important it actually is to think on our eternal reward. As scripture says, "Guard your heart, for out of it flow the issues of life," and "Whatever is just, lovely, of good report etc., think on these things." :)

Welcome to the Forum, and blessings in Christ.

I echo this, though if I had to be honest, self cleaning was the very first thing that came to mind. That would be absolute Heaven. I'll do whatever jobs God wants me in Heaven, but not have to clean my house for eternity and it be immaculate. That is my absolute greatest desire besides this right here. I know I'm going to love whatever God has for me.

Along with no dust, they say the furnishings are exquisite; the finest marbles, woods, craftsmanship, artwork.
I guess the other thing would just be a home just flowing with music I would never be tired of.

I'm a big fan of atmosphere and beauty (If we go out to dinner, it's something I'll pay attention to), and they say the music is everywhere at all times, and it's never boring and repetitive but impeccably beautiful. Not only do they have choirs but the children sing, and there will be angels flying across the sky singing worship unto God, like over parks and things. :)

Many also have full music rooms with every instrument they could ever desire, and are taught mastery of music on a scale we know nothing of down here. It's gonna be amazing, Lol.

Try as I might, I cannot envision having a "home in heaven".

I can. (obviously). :)

When I first became a Christian I was so excited about the Lord that nothing would have mattered to me either. Just being in Heaven would have been just fine.

These days, I want it all. I've grown in my faith and in the knowledge of God to such an extent that I know how good things are going to be, and it's like, "Yes, I think I'll have that too, please!" Ha!!! :D I just want it all. Everything God has for us, and I think He actually appreciates that in His children. As the scriptures say, "It is impossible to please God without faith." Now it doesn't mean I won't be satisfied regardless, but I believe He will give us the desires of our heart. That's the God I've always believed in, and still do. He's not gonna leave the "material" blessings out. They are part of our eternal "inheritance" in Christ, and I can assure you the apostles had the more wealth-oriented aspects of that term in mind when they were using it. They were Jews, and the word always carried a wealthy, materially blessed connotation to it.

Ours is the God of abundance, and He will shed that abundance upon those He loves in eternity, and forevermore : )

1 Corinthians 2:9-10
[9]But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
[10]But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

I've had experiences, dreams, and visions of Heaven. One that comes to mind is when God gave me a dream (and this is not for interpretation, lol).

This was in I think 2007. I was going through a very trying time, and
God had been leading me to listen to a specific praise and worship CD for weeks leading up to this. So I would keep this CD playing in my home pretty much 24/7 ....and in my vehicle if I went somewhere.

One night, I dreamed that I and a friend were at a Christian retreat in the mountains. (It was one we had been to before.) In my dream, she and I and a small group of believers were gathered in a room praying. We could hear the most beautiful music playing as we were gathered. And each person would stand one by one, to pray. And as the prayed, their words sounded like song .....as if each person's prayer was like a stanza to this beautiful Heavenly song.

And then, after each person had prayed/sang, we all began to fervently pray for another woman who was a mutual friend of mine and my friend who was there.

I woke from that dream still in prayer mode, and continued to intercede for this friend until I felt release. But when I woke, this song was playing on my CD player.

I went back to sleep. The next day, I emailed my friend who was with me at the retreat in my dream and I told her about the dream. She asked my permission to share it with the woman who was being prayed for in my dream. I gave her permission and so she shared it with her.

What we found out is that our mutual friend had been going through something and decided to go spend 3 days at that retreat to seek God. She never revealed what it was about, but my dream was an answer/confirmation she needed.

I was amazed how God worked and used me while I was going through so much difficulty. And He gave me a glimpse into some things that "no eye has seen, nor ear heard." (But God has revealed them to us by His Spirit.)

I know that what He has prepared for us will be exceedingly above anything that we can ask or think!

That being said ....I don't like huge unusable spaces. I like cozy, warm, inviting spaces. And I love nature ....animals.... sounds of outdoors, like birds and flowing brooks and waterfalls. I won't have to worry about intruders, predators, or being harmed in any way. That won't be a concern in eternity.

In some accounts they describe how you can walk underwater and breathe normal just like on land, so there's never any fear of drowning or anything like that, because nothing dies or can die.

i don’t know. We all have different perspectives. Maybe I’m crazy but the above makes me think of Job 38:16-17 Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast thou walked in the search of the depth? [17] Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?

To me the above is not speaking of God’s ability to walk under the water of the sea (although that could be true) but Instead
O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. [2] Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. [3] Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.’ Psalm 139:1-3

I don’t know what to think of heaven or what it will be like. ‘Filled with comfort’ is a hopeful thought. 2 Corinthians 7:3-4 I speak not this to condemn you : for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die and live with you. [4] Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.

you are in our hearts to die and live with you. This makes me consider they will build houses and live in them. What if the houses built in heaven that they build and live in them is other people?
2 Timothy 2:11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him :

No, I can’t imagine what heaven will be like. I do like your thoughts on it being just as it is here without the pain and suffering. In some ways I’m afraid if it isn’t exactly like that, this all continuing just as it is minus the burden …will i be disappointed? Will I feel short-changed that it is not at all like I imaged? I don’t think so. I don’t think we will be disappointed …but instead pleasantly surprised…however heaven is: Romans 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Still reading further in Romans 8:27 makes me think of Him who has walked in the search of the depth. (Job 38:16-17)

And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

I will take things even further. I firmly believe there are numerous worlds out in the universe untouched by sin and suffering. I believe that throughout eternity it will be a part of our work to visit these peoples and testify to how the Lord saved us. We could all be wearing tee shirts with the phrase,
"I survived planet Earth" on the front.

When you find your full satisfaction in God, you WILL have it all! The material just seems so much "less than" to me.

But I don't mind your dreaming!

Perhaps the time will come when you will just want Jesus.

Yes, God gives us all things. But I don't care if I have a single thing that is "mine". No need. It's just all so . . . less than.

Much love!

We don't quite know "what" is waiting for us on the other side of that door, but we do know Who is waiting for us!

Think of it this way. Jesus mentioned, "In My house there are many mansions," and in another place, "Do not store up treasures on the earth, where dust corrupts, and thieves break through and steal." Now what would corrupt if He were not talking about literal dwelling places, and who could enter in and steal if there were no homes to break into? Revelation also talks about the Tree of Life bearing twelve kinds of fruit, each in their seasons, and that runs a parallel with what goes on in the earth as well. We have trees that bear fruits in their own seasons; the Tree of Life will simply do so year round.

There are just too many references that suggest things will be just as they are here only far better to think of it in some strange celestial terms where people are floating about on harps with no place to stay, Lol. And I actually think it's important. Those who think Heaven is like "Make believe" may not be wiling to die for it if necessary some day, thinking it's all just in the imagination. If it is spoken of in very real, very clear terms as being much like earth is, only in a returned state to being Paradise, then they know they have something to live for, and more importantly something to die for if necessary.

It's all Jesus. Heaven is referred to as "the Kingdom of the Son of His Love." And according to Paul's theology we are all "in Him." So in a sense, everyone in the entire body of Christ will be a manifestation of Jesus, and since the Life of God inhabits everything in Heaven, including even the plants and flowers, all of it will be Jesus.

And I want all of Him. So there, LoL.

New Heaven, new Earth ....and scripture says "of the increase of His government (or empire) there will be no end." It sounds to me, it will be very much like He originally planned before the fall....even down to replenishing. How can an empire increase without ......increasing? lol

I know people may think that's nuts, but it's in scripture.

Isaiah 9:7
[7]Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

One thing we won't have in eternity is roundup. Lol
Everything will be productive and perfect. No need to kill "weeds" .... don't think there'll be any of that. ;)

I think a lot of people miss that.

Another place is,

Isaiah 59:20-21 KJV
20) And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD.
21) As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.

Have you ever watched an Andre Rieu concert? Wherever in the world it is staged the people are the same - having fun and singing along and it makes me hope that heaven will be like that - all difference forgotten and just enjoying ourselves together. And I would love a beautiful garden.

When I was a little girl I had a dream which I was convinced was of heaven and I can still see it in my mind's eye - lush green rolling landscape with lovely flowers and trees. And since becoming a Christian I have had lots more God dreams so it may have been my first.
