Mat 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” that is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
Mar 15:34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

In Matthew and Mark the account of Jesus Christ qouting a Pslam by david is mentioned, and because of this it may be for that anyone who was in the reach of the sound of the voice of the Word of God, you can see in Mark 15:39 - a centruion saying "Truly this man was the Son of God" (As Gentile, may or may not have had any prior knowledge to Scriptures having not been a Jew by birth), the lamb that had now been slain on the cross for the sins of all the world, that they may be able to go back and revert to seeking out the truth of the Lord Jesus Christ in whom he was, now in the Pslam in Chapter 22 it says this: Psa 22:8 “He trusts in the LORD; let him deliver him; let him rescue him, for he delights in him!”

Luk 23:46 Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” And having said this he breathed his last.

Darkness had entered the land, and the temple veil was rent and torn in two, which indicates a the establishing of the new Covenant, where God will write his laws on the hearts and minds of his people found in Hebrews 8, Jesus is seen here, calling out with a loud voice on the cross, saying Father in to my hands I commit my spirit, and breathed his last breath.

Through out the life of the Lord Jesus Christ, he was constantly praying through out his ministry, to the Father and always allowing the Father to help move him, by the Fathers Spirit with-in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was the Logos of God.

Us to now today have this ability to communicate freely, and openly to God ask him to help us in our life by denying ourselves, and placing God through Jesus Christ on our hearts, which eternal life is found in knowing the Lord Jesus Christ and the Father, Joh 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.

Joh 19:30 When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

This is the last and final thing noted in the Gospel of Mark, in which Jesus Christ after having recieved the sour wine stated "It is finished", then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

Interesting defintion for the word saying spoken by Jesus "It is finished" - tel-eh'-o.

There are several defintions, to bring to a close, to finish, to end, passed finished, complete, fulfil, things done corresponding to what has been said, to carry out the contents of a command, to pay, of tribute.

Jesus had fulfilled everything that the Father had came to send him to do, up to that point in time to the cross, since being born of the virgin Mary, to the baptism of John, to appointing the Apostles, to being subjected to death and condemned by the judgement of His own brethren the Jewish people. Jesus lived a perfect sinless life, and took on the punishment of sin for all people in the world.

You can rest in this fully assured that because of what Jesus Christ did, you can count because of his death, burial, and resurrection that Jesus is the prime victor over death, sin, satan and his demons, hell, and the grave.

That is so very true Matt! Have you wondered however, why Jesus said so very few would choose to be on the road to life? Mat 7:13,14

Hello Robert,

The answer is found in John chapter 3, in that people loved the darkness more than the light.

There may be people who simply do not seek out for the eternal truths of God.

Either because of their past traumas, disregard by the church, or simply not caring to seek out for those things. God is rich in mercy, grace, and loving Kindness.

You and me are able to share our testimony, and some may wonder and seek, some may not. Pray and give thanksgiving to God for them.

So very true Matt, it just puzzles the heck out of me though, because living God's ways is the best way of life. I was not raised in the truth, and in fact left it for a while after I became a Christian, but I came to the realization that the best of what the world had to offer, is inferior to what Jehovah offers. Sure the world offers much, but only temporary, and rarely does true happiness accompany the "gain".

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;.." Heb 12:2

When and how did Jesus, author our faith? When and how has he or will he finish our faith?

Thinking about your questions.

Does the individual accredit thanksgiving and thankfulness towards God and the Lord Jesus Christ who by faith makes them right with God?

Does the individual by that credit continue in faith and trusting in the promises that He had made unto the end of life itself, as a thankfulness to God for all the was done by and through the Lord Jesus Christ who gives us new life as he is the everlasting water and everlasting bread?

The promises of course being that of new spiritual life, being made right with God, having a new prayer life, accepting the death, burial and resurrection that is founded in the Gospel of Christ which is the power of God unto Salvation.

Thoughts on this, Amadeus?

The Father initially draws a man to Jesus. Once we are drawn, we then follow him by faith. Remember that faith is the substance of things hoped for and evidence not seen. As our vision improves, and it must... if ever we are to see Him face to face, we must be overcoming.

Yes, we must overcome, but not by our own power. The power is the gift of God via the Holy Spirit. For man alone it is impossible, but for God via His Spirit in us, it is a possibility. People fail because they follow their own heads and walk in their own power. Our Head must be Jesus and our power, the power of God in us.

All the power is God's but the choices are ours. God will not force Himself on us while we still have some of the time left which He has allotted to each of us.

As we grow, our transition should be from faith to knowledge. God has knowledge. Whatever people think about who Jesus is, they usually will agree that he walked not by faith alone, but mostly [or always?] by knowledge. Are we not to become like Jesus?

The only way to be drawn near to the Father is to hear about the Lord and his workings, to grow in knowledge would mean to really get to know who Jesus Christ was, along with what the rest of the Bible has to injected about himself along with also the things of God, this also can include history.

(Faith comes by hearing and by hearing the word of God).

There are people who know some things, and there are some people who believe that Jesus was simply a good man or just a prophet and nothing more. There are people who only understand Jesus by what a pastor may teach them about himself, there are people who only know what they know from what they have heard, and it could have been the truth or a lie.

What is knowing but to know what is about the subject, and that is a lifetime long course of study for any seeker of truth, that pertains within the confines of the Bible.

What would you say @amadeus ?

What a person believes and knows is dependent on the roads they have been traveling and for how they have been traveling toward God.

I believe that before meeting the Master, people had a glimmer to attract them, but that glimmer was only a hope:

"That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world." John 1:9

"Every man that cometh the into the world" is every man born of woman. This is Not being born again. Everyone has this hope by this glimmer of light seen from natural birth.

So then with only a glimmer, one must choose to go toward the Light, so as to encounter the Light and be born from above or born again. I would say that most people never really pursue that Light and thus most people are never born from above or born again. They remain always dead!

"No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day." John 6:44

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6

"And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?" John 11:26

"... I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." John 10:10

What did Adam and Eve have prior to their disobedience? Life, certainly, but not the more abundant Life that Jesus brought. Instead of eating of the Tree of Life they ate of that other forbidden tree and died. All of their carnal offspring were born dead in the eyes of God... but there was Hope to be found in the Son sent to men by God.

As you indicated, the walk is to be by faith.
