I had an errand to run today and when I turned on the Radio, I heard something about Sarah Palin, that immediately reminded me of the King James Bible.

From the first day, that Sarah Palin became a national figure, she(and her supporters), have been under attack.

She has been attacked(and still is), from both Democrats and Republicans and every aspect of the media.

Almost every single news network, to this day is raking her over the coals, while at the same time every imaginable television program, has been trying to make her a laughingstock. An actress who looks like her, has made a career out of pretending to be her and acting stupid.

She has been scrutinized & investigated more closely than any American has ever been, yet nothing compromising has been discovered about her.

And still, the common people respect her!

In the same way, from it’s very beginnings(while it was being translated), the King James Bible(and it’s supporters), have been under attack, from all quarters.

Over the last 400 years, it has also been scrutinized & investigated more closely than any other document ever written, yet no “real mistakes” have ever been found.

Over the last 100 years or so, “pastors of Churches”, have been actively working to remove the King James Bible from their pews. Over the last few years, I have personally spoken to several pastors, who confessed to me how over the years, they have been working hard to convince the people in their Churches, to give up their King James Bibles and sadly confessed, that “I still have a few holdouts who wont give them up”.

And after all of this, the King James Bible is still loved and respected by “the regular folks”.

This tells you something about Sarah Palin and about the King James Bible!

I have no problem with the KJV - it is the crazy devotion of KJV only folks that baffles me. Anyway, the KJV is beautifully translated, but somewhat inaccessible to the average Christian; Palin is the average person and I am still recovering from the last less-than-average person who occupied the Whitehouse for 8 years.

I understand your point and as much as I love Sarah and agree with her values, there is no comparison to a person and the King James Bible

No, you don't understand my point.
I am not really a supporter of "Sarah", but she has been attacked and investigated(and still is), more than anyone else has.
So also has the KJB been attacked and investigated(and...still is), yet they can't find any mistakes.

My point, is about the trustworthiness of the KJB

Sure enough, from 1611 to 1769, there were a lot of changes made with each printing.
But 100% of these changes were to correct typographical errors & spelling mistakes.
-The Bible remained the same!-

Today's KJB is the 1769 version.

I really like The King James version, and I feel sympathy for the tedious hate Sarah palin must endure.

But from what I understand the only reason you made this analogy was because

(1) Both Sarah palin and King James have been attacked (mostly by unsubstantiated criticism)

(2) Both are being investigated for no appearent reason other than simply just superficial hate/strong dislike

(3) Both are loved by the common people

You are completely accurate in all these three aspects, but the aspects are so vague I'm sure the same could be said for many things that have undergone the same. For example most things the elitist hate is what the commoners enjoy.

Actually, Sarah Palin has a habit of not providing accurate information - she opens her mouth without knowing where she is going with her comments. According to PolitiFact.com, 13 of her recent comments are simply false, and 5 more are blatant misrepresentations of the facts, which have received a "pants on fire" rating.

Before you think this site is just attacking Republicans - there are plenty of quotes from Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama. Also, surprisingly, the few quotes included from George W. Bush are generally accurate.

The KJV may have received criticism, but it was only from political / religious rivals - it is an accurate, although now outdated translation.

Yeah, thanks for that correction mf.

But the only thing I would say is outdated with King James is some of the spelling of the words like "Starres" for "Stars". I think its sad if we have dumb down the language in making it simple for every generation to understand the bible with minimum contemplation. If anything the texts should be made more rich with every generation, not this current trend. But I guess this is off topic.

Sounds like she will go far in politics.
