Looking for some good Christian artists and songs. Doesn't matter what style of music at all, it can be rap, country, rock, metal, pop, anything at all, though i favor country and pop.

Any suggestions?

I'm not sure what tools you use to find music. Itunes is great, and you can find a lot of good things on Youtube.

I love Jars of Clay; that's my favorite group. If you type them in somewhere you'll find their stuff.

I'll start linking some songs I like from recently. Just check out more from the groups of any song you like.

That's all I could think of at the moment.

Oooh I really loved the Jaimie Grace one. I really like songs that are subtle like that. It means so much more to me when they aren't like in your face from the first line.

 Thanks!

Becomming the Archetype is pretty good. August Burns Red is pretty good, although, I think there's some issues with these guys. That's all I know. These are metal btw.

The Letter Black is really good....that's rock/metal I suppose
Barlowgirl is awesome too, I suppose I'd put them under pop/rock. They do really heartfelt lyrics
If you like country I suppose you've listening to Steven Curtis Chapman....he's really good too. I don't generally go for the country sounding stuff, but he's good some fantastic songs.
I generally buy the compilation albums so I can get an idea of which band/singer I like before I go after albums, it works well for me!

You can find some free music made by a follower of Jesus if you google for "Lantos Music". They are free to download and pass on to friends...

Try 'Mercy Me'. I believe they are one of the best Christian pop/rock groups out there. Their music seems timeless to me, their message if very clear, no deception in the lyrics.

I agree, Mercy Me.
Casting Crowns is also another outstanding group.
Both have song that help celebrate and worship.

I really enjoy Casting Crowns. They use their music to convey the message of Jesus to the world very effectively.

Phil Keaggy is excellent, as well.

I saw him perform at NDSU in the very early 80s.

His story is amazing because he plays incredible guitar even though he has a deformed hand.

If we are going "old school" I would also mention:

- Keith Green
- The Imperials
- Amy Grant (before she went secular)
- B.J. Thomas
- Leon Patillo
- Phil Driscoll (cross between trumpeter Al Hirt and Ray Charles)

Even Bob Dylan's album "Saved" that he recorded before the world pulled him back in.

I personally like southern gospel music. SOme of my favorite performers are G.A. and Tye Tribbett, Vickie Winans, Chicago Mass Chior, Mississippi Mass Chior, Yolanda James and Nicole C. Mullen to name a few. If you like country, you might want to look into the Crabbs. Try "Crabbfest 2004" for starters. Great CD, although I don't like every song on it. Still, pretty solid.
