To begin with, antibiotics are administered when someone has an infection and antibiotics come in several different strengths and verities.

Therefore if the person is given the wrong strength or the wrong kind of antibiotic, it is ineffective and the persons infection gets worse.
--------------------------------------------------
Well today, most of the population of the world, has a “Spiritual infection” called “willful sin” and they need a spiritual antibiotic.
This is where preaching comes in.

But not all preaching, is the same.

(1) Strong, solid(Biblical) preaching, hits this infection between the eyes and will soon knock it out.

(2) But, weak, shallow(praise type) preaching, does little to help this problem.
--------------------------------------------------
Also, small doses of any kind of preaching, won’t get rid of this infection, but will make it stronger.
Just as small doses of actual antibiotics, will cause an infection to become immune to that antibiotic; So also does weak preaching, cause people to become “Gospel hard”.

Most of today’s preaching, simply causes people to become intrenched in their sin.
Just as the Word of God warned us it would........
2 Timothy 4:2-4
V.2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
V.3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
V.4 And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Thankful 1

(1 John 3:3-9) “Surely everyone who entertains this hopemust purify himself, must try to be as pure as Christ. Any one who sins at all breaks the law, because to sin is to break the law. Now you know that He appeared in order to abolish sin, andthat in Him there is no sin: anyone who lives in God does not sin, and anyonewho sins has never seen Him or known Him. My children do not let anyone lead you astray’ to live a holylife is to be holy just as He is holy’ to lead a sinful life is to belong theDevil, since the Devil was a sinner from the beginning. It was to undo all that the Devil has donethat the Son of God appeared. No onewho has been begotten by God sins: because God’s seed remains inside him, hecannot sin when he has been begotten by God.”

(1 John 3:8) “He who does what is sinful is ofthe devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reasonthe Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work”

John told us those who did not know God sinned and askedforgiveness and were forgiven, but once a person comes to know God he or shewill not sin.

Scripture goes on tosay that if a person who does know God uses their free will to sin there is no repentance for that person.

(Hebrews 10:26-31) “If, after wehave been given knowledge of the truth, we should deliberately commit any sins, then there is no longer any sacrifice for them. There is left only the dreadful prospect of judgment and of thefiery wrath that is to devour your enemies. Anyone who disregards the Law of Moses is ruthlessly put to deathon the word of two witnesses or three; and you may be sure that anyone whotramples on the Son of God, and who treats the blood of the covenant whichsanctified him as if it were not holy, and who insults the Spirit of grace, will be condemned to a far severer punishment. We are all aware who it was that said: Vengeance is mine; I willvindicate his people. It is a dreadfulthing to fall into the hands of the living God.”
