Nice, I always tell people, you cant TRULY LOVE unless you know God. God is LOVE, and without him you can't.

Well, you put my favorite verse in there - Eph 3:18
I like the KJV though...extended

Eph 3:16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,
17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what [is] the width and length and depth and height--
19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

:) Miss Hepburn

Thanks for your comments. They are both encouraging!

Admittedly, I am confounded when I encounter Christians who ridicule love as easy or wimpy Christianity! It IS Christianity! It is exactly what the world craves and needs - it is our salt and the light of the world. Love is our true nature and the only thing we are called to do - it is mind, heart, and action expressed as synergy.

The idea that we are supposed to fear God like a warlord is not freedom - we are free people! We are called to fulfill our true purpose - to love! Love is not compatible with fear, contempt, sarcasm, pity, arrogance, loathing, etc. Love is not compatible with any of those prideful habits of leveling or belittling others. Use of those behaviors in order to be right is not witnessing! Sharing your most intimate relationship with Christ by loving others is witnessing. Doctrine is dead without love.

Ok...I am feeling better!

Blessings!

Great post Aspen....I do think that some can not love another, even when they profess to be christian....

We need to pray for them to experience the freedom of the HS to love.

Great thread Aspen, there is not any force in all of creation more powerful than Father's love.

Here's a couple of scriptures to add to the list.

"Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked. Luke 6:35 NLT

For when we place our faith in Christ Jesus, there is no benefit in being circumcised or being uncircumcised. What is important is faith expressing itself in love. Gal. 5:6 NLT
