Buffalo shooter targeted Black neighborhood, officials say

These MASS murders, and MANY more that we see on a regular basis, shows that it is both UNBIBLICAL and UNCHRISTIAN for anyone, especially if the are followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, to own any form of weapon!

The US Constitution that allows for this is VERY WRONG!

I don't see a problem with owning a weapon for hunting, farming purposes or self defense

the OP is for the crazy gun "laws" in the USA!

Ok cos i was responding to this particular part which i thought was a bit much
"it is both UNBIBLICAL and UNCHRISTIAN for anyone, especially if the are followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, to own any form of weapon!"
Christians own weapons for the reasons i cited, there is nothing unChristian about that

I am 60+ and lived in London for over 30 years, and now elsewhere in England. I have never needed to own a gun for "protection". Hunting and farming are also debatable if guns are needed, as it usually means killing some animal!

Your saying its unChristian to own a weapon. Many of us own them for the reasons i stated.
Your opinion is an uneducated one that is unsupported by scripture.

and I am sure you have at least ONE that says that Christians can own a gun?

THIS is what God desires

He will settle disputes among the nations and provide arbitration for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plows and their spears into pruning knives. Nation will not take up the sword against nation, and they will never again train for war, Isaiah 2:4

He shall judge between many peoples, and shall decide for strong nations far away; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore, Micah 4:3

Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears; let the weak say, “I am a warrior.”, Joel 3:10

Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back into its place. For all who take the sword will perish by the sword., Matthew 26:52

what "sport"? You mean to kill a rabbit, or badger?

Target shooting. Clay shooting. Some people are cops or work in security.

Look, your assertion that everyone with a gun is unChristian is not very well thought through. It has no biblical foundation at all.
Many Christians have guns for the reasons i stated and you haven't given any valid reasons as to why they should not.

WHY does a Christian need to target shoot, or shoot clay pigeons? Is this for a thrill? or they get a kick from it?

What work requires a Christian to own a gun at home?

Cops and security officers here in the UK very seldom have guns

Your reasoning is not reflected anywhere in the Bible. If it is then lets see it!

I do not own a gun in my house.

My mothers sister was accidentally shot in the head by someone who had been drunk one day out on the sidewalk having pulled it out and shot it off.

Guns are part of life, and people use them. It is not something anyone will ever get rid off. There are Christians and Non-Christians who have an interest in Guns, and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

You can talk about how one shouldn't, but that doesn't mean everyone is just going to submit to that way, @ByGraceThroughFaith.

Sorry.

People see a mass murder and think that everyone who owns a gun is a criminal.
That is a stupid assertion and generalization that is uneducated and unfair.
Work, sport, hunting, farming, self defence, there is nothing wrong with owning a weapon for these purposes.

I agree that their are issues within the whole situation with guns , but I am not so sure I could go as far as to say they are never needed. We live in a country that doesn’t have everyone having guns, look at the issues over knife crimes in the inner cities, especially London. Yet the problem is not with the knives, but with the gangs that choose to fight amongst themselves and desire to be in control.
It does bother me when I read of these shooting, and also countless other incidents where younger children get guns and accidentally shoot parents , siblings or friends. So obviously something needs to change somewhere , but how or what is difficult to determine.
We have had many debates on the forum about this issue, this is a predominantly US forum and there are very strong thoughts on the subject.

The sad reality is that this recent situation in Buffalo was racial motivated. The young person in question was fearful of the country being over taken by Black people , so he drove to a Black area and decided too kill a few. Who made him fearful, who has fed into this young persons mind those thoughts. There are always underlying issues with these shootings.
The conclusion of many has been that it’s not the weapon but the person wielding the weapon that is the issue.
I have always found it weird that a teenager can get a gun licence in the US at 18 , but they aren’t allowed to have a legal drink until they are 21 ………crazy.

It’s not an easy subject to debate ………
I am not sure, however, that it’s wrong for a Christian to be armed. ………..but as I have never had to make the decision with regards to having a gun in my home it’s not something I have really considered. If someone was to enter my house and I could access knife, or something to defend myself with, I would use it as I don’t consider it wrong to act in self defence.

Fair points. The legislation can be debated.

I just object to the OP calling everyone with a weapon unchristian and unbiblical, demonising them. There are a list of reasons one might have a gun; work, sport, hunting, farming, self defence. Many of them are good Christians

So what is your solution? Disarm all law abiding citizens (Christians and non-Christians alike) in America so that only criminals will have guns and law abiding citizens will be helpless?

Some animals should be killed; like rats.

Ok, so how do you feel about Christians who are in the police, or Christians who are in the army. If you do not believe that it is right for them to have guns it would need to apply across the board of ALL Christians.
So what are your views, based on what verses you have shared to what I have conveyed above.
I am just curious to know your views
