“Bible alone”

Provides no authority to know what is scripture.
Provides no authority to know what is not scripture.
Provides no authority to safeguard and protect scripture from errors.
Provides no authority to teach scripture without error.
Provides no authority to interpret scripture.

Reasons to oppose the doctrine of the “Bible alone”

Blind or illiterate and cannot read scripture. (Most people before the 20th century were illiterate)
Rare & Expensive (even after the printing press)
Faith comets by hearing not reading.

The Bible alone does not teach the doctrine of the “Bible alone”.

<snip>

Do you really expect anyone to read all of your rambling post? We do have lives, you know.

Regarding the Bible: it is considered to be the pure and inerrant word of God. It is the authority. Of course, it must be a) read and b) understood. Other than that it is simply marks on paper.

You Catholics are unable to think for yourselves, so you rely on clergy -- the Pope, cardinals, bishops, priests -- to tell you what it means. Your denomination has twisted the meaning of God's Holy Word so that it bears little resemblance to what the Bible actually says. There is no better example than your posting one out-of-context verse after another to support your twisted doctrine. Thankfully, the days have past when people are killed or excommunicated by your officials because they disagreed with the (manufactured) "party line". Here is but a single example...

"Hail, Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death."

This is a prayer to a dead woman, who is called the mother of God. But God has no mother! Then she -- this long-dead woman -- is asked to "pray for us sinners". a) Why ask someone else to pray for you, especially a dead person. Why not pray directly to God, as Scripture instructs us to do? b) and "pray for us sinners"? What is that? Because of Christ's sacrifice I am no longer regarded as a sinner. To say otherwise is to deny Christ!

When one sins, there is nothing to be gained by repeating this chant over and over because a RCC priest -- we're all priests -- tells you to to gain forgiveness. => There is nothing even approaching that behavior in the Bible. <=

Are Catholics seriously unable to read (or at least hear) God's Word and hear what God "speaks" directly to them? Hebrews 5:12-13 says, "For though you should in fact be teachers by this time, you need someone to teach you the beginning elements of God’s utterances. You have gone back to needing milk, not solid food. For everyone who lives on milk is inexperienced in the message of righteousness, because he is an infant." Yet Catholics depend on someone else to teach them even after they have been believers for many years. "...

The Roman Catholic denomination...
Provides no authority to know what is scripture.
Provides no authority to know what is not scripture.
Provides no authority to safeguard and protect scripture from errors.
Provides no authority to teach scripture without error.
Provides no authority to interpret scripture.

In fact it does just the opposite!

The Roman Catholic denomination has built a false "temple" filled with one unScriptural dogma after another. No wonder you oppose sola scriptura! Instead of believing God, you believe the teachings of fallible men who feed you false "milk" week after week, year after year. And praying to a dead woman won't save you, now or in the hour of your death.

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus
You don’t believe His eternal words in Matt 28:19

acts 2:38 does not say to be baptized in the name of Jesus!

The command to be baptized per Matt 28:18 is what is given in the name of Jesus Christ not baptism itself

Why reject the words Jesus Christ?
Why reject the word of God?
All for the sake ago a 16th century novelty and heresy of “faith alone”!

Faith and baptism!

Matt 28:19
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Mk 16:16
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;

Jn 3:5
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God

Acts 8:36-38

36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God

Eph 4:5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism.

Faith and baptism!

Matthew 24:35
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

2 Timothy 3:16
All scripture, inspired of God…

Scripture does don’t say!

Mk 16:16 he that believeth is saved and Should then be baptized"?

Mk 16:16
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus...

...Awkward.

“Bible alone” is a condemned heresy and only causes confusion

Perhaps condemned by Satan because it interferes with his efforts to spread his own false teaching, along with his disciples; confirmed by the absence of a single Sciptura reference!.

But 'Sola Scriptura' was definitely the position held by the early church fathers.

Do you really expect anyone to read all of your rambling post? We do have lives, you know.

It’s a free country, no one is required to be here or to respond either

So what is the alternative? Open Christianity up to all kinds of unScriptural ideas and practices. Nobody creates this kind of false teaching and behavior than the Roman Catholic denomination. It's the equivalent of throwing out the rule book of [name your sport] and saying, "Go ahead and do what you want -- anything goes".

Once you go beyond the Bible you can create any kind of false teaching -- which is exactly what the Roman Catholic denomination has done.

but if you reject the doctrine of the divinity it affects the mother of God so answer

Again you run from the subject.

Post #534 I said to you......

Matthew is not the only account of the great commission...

Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Now let's see what the apostles did with that...

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 8:14-16 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

Acts 19:5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

If you do a word search for "Father, Son, Holy Ghost" - you will get only one (1) hit = Matt 28:19 ----Jesus was telling them what to DO, not what to repeat verbatim.

b) Once again, Hebrews 5:11-13, "On this topic we have much to say and it is difficult to explain, since you have become sluggish in hearing. For though you should in fact be teachers by this time, you need someone to teach you the beginning elements of God’s utterances. You have gone back to needing milk, not solid food. For everyone who lives on milk is inexperienced in the message of righteousness, because he is an infant." Catholics believe that they must be taught over and over and over throughout their entire lives by "priests" -- we're all priests! -- because they have been convinced that they require spiritual milk. Yet the writer of Hebrews shames people who behave like that! They must accept what they're told and keep babbling, just like babies!

I truly feel sorry for these people! They refuse to grow into Christian maturity!

Anyone who wants to do a search on "mother of God" will find out that there is not one single use of this phrase anywhere in the entire Bible. Calling Mary the "mother of god" is blasphemy of the first order!

Sola scriptura! The Bible is the sole infallible source of authority for Christian faith and practice.

The passage you reference says nothing like that. And since Scripture never mentions your contention, I have to relegate what you are saying is false teaching; and false teaching comes directly from your gods: Satan and his Queen.

Most people understand that when the Bible says the name "Jesus" it is clearly understood to mean "Jesus Christ". Duh!

You're actually using the Bible to prove a point? Did you get permission from the priest?

Matthew 1:21, "She will give birth to a son and you will name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” This says absolutely nothing about all graces coming to us from Jesus Christ thru Mary! That is a terrible interpretation of Scripture.

The preceding verse (Matthew 1:20) says "When he had contemplated this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, because the child conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit." So these verses were said to Joseph, not to Mary! Joseph was the one who named him "Jesus", the anglicized version of Yeshua or Joshua. (Not Mary).

The subject of the OP is "who is the queen of heaven". The only true answer, according to God's Word, the Bible: there is no queen of heaven except the pagan goddess mentioned by Jeremiah.

Jeremiah 7:18, "Children are gathering firewood, fathers are building fires with it, and women are mixing dough to bake cakes to offer to the goddess they call the Queen of Heaven. They are also pouring out drink offerings to other gods. They seem to do all this just to trouble me."

Jeremiah 44:24-26, "Then Jeremiah spoke to all the people, particularly to all the women, “Listen to the Lord’s message, all you people of Judah who are in Egypt. This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, has said, ‘You women have confirmed by your actions what you vowed with your lips! You said, “We will certainly carry out our vows to sacrifice and pour out drink offerings to the Queen of Heaven.” Well, then fulfill your vows! Carry them out!’ But listen to the Lord’s message, all you people of Judah who are living in the land of Egypt: The Lord says, ‘I hereby swear by my own great name that none of the people of Judah who are living anywhere in Egypt will ever again invoke my name in their oaths! Never again will any of them use it in an oath saying, “As surely as the Sovereign Lord lives.”"

so Matt 28:19 is not the inspired word of God or the eternal words of Jesus Christ!

the church has only for 2000 yrs baptized in the method Jesus commanded in Matt 28:19
Heretics fundamentalists etc do whatever they like, but they are not valid baptisms either !

Jesus Christ is the source of all graces Jn 1:16-17

Jesus came thru Mary!

that’s what pastors are for to care for the sheep
Care for our souls

Spiritual Fathers (apostles) have care for our souls!

Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Jn 21:17 feed my sheep:

Heb 13:7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.

Heb 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they care for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

1 Tim 1:2 Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.

Gal 4:19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you

1 John 2
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not.

That makes Paul and John spiritual fathers, pastors of our souls!
