The here subject is, "Who is fit for God to use at this time"? That doesn't mean who is going to heaven or hell; we are talking about who the "servants of God" are. When the two witnesses appear on earth, and they start their witnessing, there will be no doubt who they are. Many religious leaders today speculate, and name names, but that is not important. You will know them by their words, if you are in tune with God's Word.Because the prophets and saints that have died, and shed their blood, they will not and cannot be in their flesh bodies. These two witnesses will shed their blood as martyrs in the streets of Jerusalem, and this would indicate that it would be people living and walking on the earth right now. The power they use to defend themselves will be given by God when the Antichrist arrives in person. That power will end exactly three and a half days before the sounding of the seventh trumpet. That will be because God has written it in His book, our Bible.Revelation 11:66 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will."These", are the two witnesses. The "waters" that these two witnesses have power over, are "the nations, and peoples of this earth" [Revelation 17:15]. There is power granted to these two to smite peoples and nations. They can call down these plagues whenever it is necessary. When the written Word of God comes true before your eyes, you will know what to expect next. Believe it when you see it come to pass.As long as you are in your Heavenly Father's care, you will not fall under any of these plagues, or torments. The witnesses use their powers only on Satan, the [Antichrist], and his followers.Remember what God said back in Revelation 9:4? "Hurt only those who have not the seal of God in their foreheads". Go back and review itRevelation 9:44 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.Revelation 11:77 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit [abyss] shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.The two witnesses purpose for being on the earth at this time, was to be a testimony against Satan, the Antichrist. By doing this, it is also a witness to God's elect, of the commitment of God to His Word. When this testimony is over, Satan, the Antichrist will rise up and kill both witnesses.

The Two Witnesses are the "law" and the "prophets." Moses and Elijah or more accurately, the Old and New Testments.The Word of God is truth. Um....without buying or understanding the "time thing" of Bible prophecy it's nearly impossible to understand the whole of Bible prophecy. Now, if my explanation is unclear I apologize, but for the sake of understanding it I think it would be very important to take into account that 2/3 of Revelations language can be found in the OT.Nothing mystic, simply using scripture to interpret itself. There was clearly a period of earth's recent history where the Bible was hidden from view and kept from the people "because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth". These two prophets were "refused burial" simply because there were those people chosen by God that were actively working at great peril to their own lives to ensure the scriptures never were silenced.
