The major part of Israel's population remain either agnostic or atheist in all matters dealing with religion.

Would the Christ who delivered the SERMON ON THE MOUNT approve of the deliberate and demonic decimation

of the indigenous peoples of Palestine in order to satisfy the giant land grab demands of a small group of calculating political racketeers ,whose only purpose is to extort money from the U.S. treasury and to blackmail the world toward the furtherance of its zionist agenda?

Would any true Christian lend his support to such an enterprise? Could one?

There is no such thing as sacred soil.

The only thing that is holy on this earth is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and that is his people. :)

Falconduler, if you are not a big fan of Israel, so be it. More power to you.

But do you really need to start multiple threads with the sole purpose of criticizing them?

He´s alright Foreigner, just ask him! And heĺl likely, also, promise not to wail and gnash his teeth as he burn, daily, in the Bottomless pit. I´m fairly certain that he has ignored large parts of scripture... you know... the ones about those that curse God´s chosen and the curse for those that curse Israel!

Folks like this are an encouragement to me for they will hasten the Tribulation and mine and your arrivals in Heaven.

That's exactly what the enemies of all honest humanity would have you think ,as they chuckle up their sleeves at your willingness to be their willing accomplice in the destruction of christianity and all that is sacred ,decent, ethical ,humane and aesthetically pleasing . I know your kind!

Agreed. The phrase begs the question as to whether anything is sacred to an atheist since their ideology excludes the sacred in the first place.

I think the state of Israel has been its own worst enemy. The belief that the Jews are God's chosen people was based on the Old Covenant, which is no longer in effect or applicable today. Under the New Covenant God's chosen people are Christians......the people in whom God dwells.

1 Peter 2:9-10 (ESV)
[sup]9 [/sup]But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
[sup]10 [/sup]Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

If the Jews wants to become God's chosen people they must come under the New Covenant and become one with gentile Christains, who in God's mind are the true people of God.

Well, it's pretty obvious not many here have ever read Ezekiel 16 of how our Heavenly Father feels about Jerusalem on earth, and what He said about it in the Psalms. Such Biblical ignorance here, and pushing of men's agenda's instead, that this forum is starting to no longer serve as a real Christian forum.

God's people, who form his temple, are called to be holy. The old covenant, which was a shadow of the new, had God's people be according to a nation that had been chosen. But in the new covenant, the peculiar people, the nation of priests is God's people.

God has broken the wall of partition, and made all one. The ground has been leveled and all who desire may know him.

Wherever two or more are gathered in his name, there he is. That is what the new covenant is about.

You've obviously got a lot of Bible study to do...

God's final promise concerning Jerusalem...

Ezek 16:60-63
60 Nevertheless I will remember My covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.
61 Then thou shalt remember thy ways, and be ashamed, when thou shalt receive thy sisters, thine elder and thy younger: and I will give them unto thee for daughters, but not by thy covenant.
62 And I will establish My covenant with thee; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD:
63 That thou mayest remember, and be confounded, and never open thy mouth any more because of thy shame, when I am pacified toward thee for all that thou hast done, saith the Lord GOD.
(KJV)

Ezek 37:21-28
21 And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:
22 And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:
23 Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be My people, and I will be their God.
24 And David My servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in My judgments, and observe My statutes, and do them.
25 And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob My servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and My servant David shall be their prince for ever.
26 Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set My sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore.
27 My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
28 And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when My sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.
(KJV)

Rev 21:2
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
(KJV)

Mal 3:2-6
2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:
3 And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.
4 Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the LORD, as in the days of old, and as in former years.
5 And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.
6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
(KJV)

Zech 14:9-11
9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and His name one.
10 All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king's winepresses.
11 And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.
(KJV)

Zech 14:16-17
16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
(KJV)

Zech 8:2-3
2 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her with great fury.
3 Thus saith the LORD; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts the holy mountain.
(KJV)

Zeph 3:14-20
14 Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.
15 The LORD hath taken away thy judgments, He hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, even the LORD, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more.
16 In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not: and to Zion, Let not thine hands be slack.
17 The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; He will save, He will rejoice over thee with joy; He will rest in His love, He will joy over thee with singing.
18 I will gather them that are sorrowful for the solemn assembly, who are of thee, to whom the reproach of it was a burden.
19 Behold, at that time I will undo all that afflict thee: and I will save her that halteth, and gather her that was driven out; and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame.
20 At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the LORD.
(KJV)

Joel 3:16-21
16 The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of His people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
17 So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, My holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.
18 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth of the house of the LORD, and shall water the valley of Shittim.
19 Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land.
20 But Judah shall dwell for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation.
21 For I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed: for the LORD dwelleth in Zion.
(KJV)

Isa 66:20-22
20 And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the LORD out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to My holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the LORD, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD.
21 And I will also take of them for priests and for Levites, saith the LORD.
22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before Me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
(KJV)

Isa 66:10-16
10 Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her:
11 That ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory.
12 For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees.
13 As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.
14 And when ye see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the LORD shall be known toward His servants, and His indignation toward His enemies.
15 For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with His chariots like a whirlwind, to render His anger with fury, and His rebuke with flames of fire.
16 For by fire and by His sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many.
(KJV)

Isa 65:18-25
18 But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.
19 And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in My people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.
20 There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.
21 And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
22 They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of My people, and Mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
23 They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.
24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, saith the LORD.
(KJV)

Ps 125:1-2
1 They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.
2 As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about His people from henceforth even for ever.
(KJV)

The house of Israel including the Jews will only become God's people when they come under the New Covenant. The gentile Christians have become a partaker of this New Covenant before the Jews as a whole, even though the Israelites were the first people to be called God’s people under the Old Covenant. The first has become the last and the last the first, as Jesus said.

Jeremiah 31:31-34 (ASV)
[sup]31 [/sup]Behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
[sup]32 [/sup]not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was a husband unto them, saith Jehovah.
[sup]33 [/sup]But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith Jehovah: I will put my law in their inward parts, and in their heart will I write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people:
[sup]34 [/sup]and they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know Jehovah; for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith Jehovah: for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin will I remember no more.

[sup]1[/sup] Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To the pilgrims of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, [sup]2[/sup] elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ:
[........]
(Chap.2)[sup]9[/sup] But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; [sup]10[/sup] who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

Exodus 19:6
And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.”

Israel is always God's people. Israel was a shadow of what was to come. The true Israel is according to the spirit, and all that are grafted in are part of Israel. Does God have a purpose for the Jews? Yes. It is to graft them back into the same holy nation, the people of God, who worship him in spirit and truth.

Galatians 3:16
Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is Christ.[sup]17[/sup] And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ,[sup][j][/sup] that it should make the promise of no effect. [sup]18[/sup] For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no longer of promise; but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

Romans 4
[sup]13[/sup] For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. [sup]14[/sup] For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise made of no effect, [sup]15[/sup] because the law brings about wrath; for where there is no law there is no transgression.
[sup]16[/sup] Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all [sup]17[/sup] (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”[sup][d][/sup])
All who would enter by faith have access to the promises of Israel, because they are grafted into Israel, which means 'rules with God', and as it says in Revelation, he who overcomes, I will give him to rule and reign with me.

God has made Jew and Gentile one in Christ, to form Israel, the holy nation of priests which he desired.

Would any true Christian lend his support to such an enterprise? Could one?

A.) It takes two to tango, and two to arrange a financial transaction. Duplicity like the proverbial door swings both ways.

B.) When you say 'true Christians' I assume you are referring to the political right wing religious fanatics. Of course they would lend their support. I know few in that group that have anything approaching independent political thought and little in the way of logic to support it.

"My country right or wrong" is their creed and Washington's right to manipulate middle east politics is like unto it.
In my opinion, the people of Palestine as well as Israel are a sovereign people. They have a right to resolve their differences without American meddling. They have a right to do so. The problem is that we won't let them and that's why we're having this discussion in the first place.

A 'true Christian' HELPS his neighbor.
He doesn't continually stir up trouble (and provide weapons to both sides thereby increasing his own financial worth).

Never forget that murder and trouble are BIG BUSINESS and the United States is the most aggressive distributor of violence on the planet.
