Mankind got cheated out of life. It was forfeited out of foolishness and ignorance, which the evil one exploited. Satan is the one who willingly and knowingly rejected God, and thus no redemption is possible for him.

Hi Ferris, yes satan rejected Jehovah, and deceived Eve, but it was Adams rejection of Jehovah that sealed us into death. Rom 5:12. satan was quite clear in what he told Eve, although still somewhat deceptive. he told her she could be like God, choosing for herself what was right and wrong. In other words, and think about this before you reject it, he told her she didn't need God, rather she could be her own god. Isn't that really the issue? She chose through deception to be her own god, but the Bible points out that Adam chose to join her in her rebellion. 1 Tim 2:14

So, yes in a way we were cheated out of life, but don't you see the wisdom in the choice Jehovah made to remedy the situation? I personally believe He did the best thing, do you feel that way as well? If you don't, of the choices that were available to Him, how might you have handled it differently with a better outcome?

Many people wouldn't consider it as such Ferris, why do you think it was a kindness from God the way He handled it?
This is why...

"9The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:9

The grace of his long suffering and patience will let the world go to the brink of disaster giving every possible chance for people to turn to him.
It is a sad thing that God has to let this world go to the point of extinction until some can figure that out. Mat 24:22
It's called 'grace'.

His judgments are just and right. He allows mankind to be redeemed. But he does not allow the fallen angels to be redeemed. His plan and the way he's handling rebellion in his universe is the perfect plan.

Care to explain what you think I said that makes you think that way?

Usually folks find my morality to be a little too strict.
I believe just one sin can separate a believer from God.
I believe Abraham did not lie to Pharaoh involving Sarah.
I don't believe God told Hosea to marry a prostitute.

I would say this is a prerequisite of a Christian knowing Christ. I believe those who walk with GOD which would naturally involve knowing His love will unequivocally say that they can attest to God of the Bible is love (Just as Scripture says - 1 John 4:8). To abide in Christ's (God's) love, we have to keep His commandments (John 15:10).

Jesus is the Word (Because the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us - verse 14). The Word was God (John 1:1), and the Word created all things (John 1:3).

Jesus = God.

It's a bit of a mystery to me why people want to distort the many verses in the Bible that makes it over abundantly clear beyond all shadow of a doubt that Jesus is God (or the second person of the Trinity or Godhead). I can understand why Calvinists believe the way they do because that kind of belief is all about not having any kind of responsibility. It is also a cold hearted religion, as well. Perhaps folks deny the Trinity or Jesus is God because they want to keep God at arms length while appearing to be religious. Maybe it is about the rush of idolizing of a false god that fits with their own imagination and understanding. I don't know. Only God knows.

The Trinity is told to us in one verse:

“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” (1 John 5:7).

Meaning, even nature itself declares the Godhead (or the Trinity):

Romans 1:20 says,
"For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:"

Atoms = Nucleus, Protons, Electrons.
Water Molecules = Hydrogen Atom, Hydrogen Atom, Oxygen Atom.
Fire needs 3 things: = Heat, Fuel, Oxygen.
Sun gives humans 3 things: = Light, warmth, and Vitamin D.
Colors of White Light = Red, Blue, Green.
Man's Formation = Dust, Mist (i.e. Water), Breadth of Life.
Man Made in God's Image = Physical Body, Spirit Body, Soul.
Time = Past, Present, Future.
Earth = Crust, Mantle, Core
3 Major Types of Light in the Sky = Sun, Moon, Stars

Although the word "Trinity" is not found within the Scriptures, the word "Godhead" is used instead (Acts of the Apostles 17:29) (Romans 1:20) (Colossians 2:9).

Jesus had power as God:

#1. Jesus said He has power to raise the dead to life just as the Father had power to raise the dead (John 5:21).
#2. Hebrews 1:3 talks about how Christ held all things together by the word of His power when He purged us of our sins.
#3. Jesus said, He would raise up this Temple (His body) three days later (John 2:19).
#4. Jesus had the power to forgive sins and give eternal life (Mark 2:7) (Luke 7:44-50) (John 14:6).
#5 Jesus had power to take away the sins of the entire world (John 1:29).
#6. Jesus Christ said wherever two or three are gathered in my name, there I am among them (Matthew 18:20). This was said to the people he was around and not to just us today.
#7. Jesus knew men's thoughts (Matthew 9:4) (Matthew 12:25) (Mark 2:8) (Luke 5:22) (Luke 6:8) (Luke 9:47) (Luke 24:38).
#8. Jesus knew about the lives of others (John 2:24) (John 4:17-18) (John 4:29) (John 6:64).

God purchased us with His own blood:

“Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.” (Acts of the Apostles 20:28).

There is no Savior beside or next to God:

“I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.” (Isaiah 43:11).

“So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.” (Matthew 16:19).

Holy Spirit is God:

The Holy Spirit is called God:

“Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.” (Acts of the Apostles 5:3-4).
The Holy Spirit is on equal level with being God:

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:” (Matthew 28:19).
The Holy Spirit is eternal:

“How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” (Hebrews 9:14).
The Holy Spirit is a person:

“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever;” (John 14:16).
The Holy Spirit can be grieved:

“And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.” (Ephesians 4:30).
The Holy Spirit can be blasphemed:

“And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.” (Matthew 12:32).

Important Note: Only God can be blasphemed.
The Father Sent The Holy Spirit:

The Bible says that God the Father sent the Holy Spirit. Jesus said.

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you (John 14:26).

The Father will send the Holy Spirit, not Himself, to help believers.

There Is A Difference Between The Father And The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit does the will of God the Father. Paul wrote.

And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will (Romans 8:27).

Source used for Holy Spirit being distinct from the Father:
Is the Holy Spirit a Distinct Person from God the Father?

(Note: I agree with this article, it does not mean I may agree with all articles or beliefs put forth by BlueLetterBible).

Care to explain what you think I said that makes you think that way?
Oh boy, do I owe you an apology sir, because of time and length many times I speed read and sometimes misunderstand posts. I misunderstood you to say that God caused Joseph's brothers to do evil to him, my mistake, and I fully agree with you that God took the situation, rescued Joseph, and used it to further His purpose at the benefit of all involved. I am so very sorry for not reading your post more thoroughly BH.

As for the rest, who is the God of Jesus sir?

While Satan owns the kingdoms of this world, that does not mean God is not sovereign and one step ahead of the enemy. Again, think the cross. Satan entered Judas to betray Jesus was instrumental in Jesus going to the cross to die for mankind's sins. Sinful men crucified Jesus unjustly. The evil Joseph's brothers intended against Joseph, God intended it for good in the end. This does not mean God condones evil by any means. God is merely capable of using men's wrong choices for a great good despite themselves or their actions.

You said that the God handed rule of this earth over to me. Well, I am not really that important. I am nothing actually. Christ is everything. Anyways, in reality, that was Adam's instructions before the fall.

Is there any reason for you to believe that such instructions applies to the church today? I get the impression that we are not to get involved in worldly matters according to the New Testament, and we are to simply follow Christ and His good ways instead. We should obey the law of the land if it does not conflict with God's laws, but that does not mean we should rule this earth and subdue it.

In fact, Jesus said,

“Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;...” (Matthew 20:25-26).
So I don't see how I am given rule over the earth with this kind of instruction. It says the meek will inherit the Earth (See: Matthew 5:5).

Well, I would not call it extinction of humanity. I would call it more of an eradication of most of humanity by God Himself. Jesus will return a second time, and He will destroy all the nations that come up against Him. The earth will then be burned with a great fire and or heat (Similar to the global flood in it's impact). Then the 1,000 year reign of Christ will begin.

Jesus said narrow is the way that leads unto life and few be there that find it (Matthew 7:14).

Figuratively sir, satan told Eve she could be like God choosing for herself what is good and bad. By eating of the fruit, in essence she asked God to butt out, she would choose for herself, in other words be her own god. Adam chose to join her in her rebellion.

I personally believe Jehovah chose rightly in the way He handled it, do you agree? The verse I quoted definitely indicates to me that Jehovah is going to allow man to take the earth to the point of extinction, how do you perceive Mat 24:22 to indicate differently?

Like you, we believe the next destruction will be like the first, the earth will remain as it did before.

Again, who is the God of Jesus sir? You do realize that if Jesus is God, he is the very thing the Bible promotes satan to be, correct? He would be the biggest liar and deceiver in the history of mankind, if we cannot trust his words, what hope do we have?

I am very serious here BH and want an answer, so give me a reason for your hope as I am asking it sir 1 Pet 3:15

who is the God of Jesus sir?

I explained this in of my old writes up here:

Does God have a God? Explaining John 20:17 in Defense of the Trinity.

To put it to you another way: Hang ups like these can be easily explained with the Bible, and they are not that many. The problem for you is you have to ignore and or twist a whole endless convoy of truck loads of Scripture verses to make your false belief work, though. I have offered a lot biblical proof that Jesus is GOD beyond a shadow of a doubt. Only those who are hardened to worship a false god of their own imagining will twist Scripture to their own destruction.

So you don’t believe in a second coming of Jesus Christ and that man will eradicate himself before Jesus returns?
If so… that’s pretty far out there in left field somewhere beyond what the Bible says.
Most Christians believe in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

You said:
Like you, we believe the next destruction will be like the first, the earth will remain as it did before.

How do you know what I believe?
And who is “we”? Do you have multiple personalities? Or are there several people writing your posts?
As for the earth remaining: Yes, the earth will still be here for the 1,000 year reign of Christ, but like the global flood, it will simply be purified. But I think it will be purified in such a way that will not leave traces of our current world. I believe the fire will purify everything. For the former things shall not be remembered. We can see many remnants of civilizations under the ocean floor (Which are those who perished in the global flood).

(Important Note: While I support what this article says, I do not hold to the author’s view on Calvinism and or a few of their other beliefs).

Quite the list !!!

Thank you. I discovered this list of 160 reasons Jesus is God by another Christian a long time ago. I altered his point number 81, though.

This is based on my discovery of the true spiritual meaning of what Jesus wrote on the ground in John 8.

You can check out my write up on that here (if you are interested):

What did Jesus write on the ground in John 8?

Certain Pre-Incarnate appearances of Jesus in the Old Testament also prove Jesus is GOD, too.

You can check my biblical write up on this one here:

Jesus is the Messenger of the Lord in the Old Testament.

While Jesus operated by the power of GOD the Father, and the Holy Spirit, I made my own list in Scripture showing how Jesus had power as GOD during His earthly ministry, as well. I provided this list back in post #98. In other words, for me: The Bible is practically hitting a person over the head that Jesus is GOD. To not see this basic truth in the Bible is to twist or ignore Scripture at the highest level so as to worship a false god of one’s own imagining.

I came up with a list of around 120 a decade ago but have not tried to expand the list. Good job.

Nice. You may also like the following list. It is a list showing the symbiotic relationship between the Living Word (JESUS) and the Communicated Word (Scripture).

The Living Word & the Communicated Word.

This in my view also proves Jesus is GOD.
In other words, Christ is compared to God’s words.
Jesus is GOD.

Jesus is LORD!

Praise the LORD indeed.

No need to apologize. It’s all good.
I have misunderstood what folks have written plenty of times over the years.
I make an effort to do the same as you and apologize if I do misread people’s writings.

In any event, may God’s love shine upon you (even if we disagree strongly on what the Bible says).

I have been deconstructing my calvinist beliefs I have had for the past 4 decades this past year. Its been quite the journey and personally my first love is back in full force now and the bible is alive again, learning new things all of the time and scripture is fresh, new and I'm not looking at them through the lens of " calvinism " like I did before. Even my family/friends have noticed I'm more compassionate now. I have been doing allot of writing on the topic and wrote a paper on PSA and why I reject the penal/wrath aspect from Father to Son on the cross. That began my journey where I look at things through the Trinity and at the core of their relationship which is love. An innate/eternal and immutable attribute of Gods character/Being as Tri-Unity of Persons.

I am really overjoyed that you have come out of Calvinism. Praise the Lord indeed. I am also glad it has changed your attitude for the better (Which I believe is natural).

As for Penal/Wrath Substitutionary Atonement:

Well, I definitely see Scripture as a Substitutionary Atonement. By his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5).

Substitutionary Atonement Verses:

#1. "He Himself is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world." - 1 John 2:2 BSB (Berean Study Bible).

#2. “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21).

#3. “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” (1 Peter 2:24).

#4. "But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man." - Hebrews 2:9.

Related Verses (But not directly or clearly teaching the Substitutionary Atonement):

"Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world." - John 1:29.

"Furthermore, we have seen with our own eyes and now testify that the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world" - 1 John 4:14.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes should not perish but have everlasting life." - John 3:16.

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." - 2 Peter 3:9.

3 "...God our Savior;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
6 Who gave himself a ransom for all,"
- 1 Timothy 2:3-6.

18 "And all things are of God, who has reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 That is, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and has committed unto us the word of reconciliation."
- 2 Corinthians 5:18-19.

As for the wrath part:

I think there is a confusion on what we may think of as wrath. There is human wrath and Godly wrath. Check out this article here. While the theory of Penal Substitutionary Atonement does include Wrath, I believe this was wrath poured out on sin that Jesus took upon His body, and not the Son because He did nothing wrong. Jesus is the spotless Lamb. He never sinned. God was clearly punishing (wrath) Jesus for the sins of other people. This is how we are saved.

Isaiah 53:10 says that it pleased God to crush the Son. Why? Well, because He was saving all of mankind and demonstrating His great love for him. The brutal punishment of Jesus and the crucifixion was the wrath part. It was not an accident. If blood needed to be shed, He could have just pricked His finger for it to bleed a little, but that was obviously not enough. Jesus needed to die and do so brutally. That was the punishment (wrath) God chose for Jesus to die in our place. This again does not mean the Father hated Jesus at any point, it merely means that the Father was pouring out His wrath (punishment) on sin.

But I agree that GOD is love. I agree that GOD is long suffering towards us and He is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. The Scriptures say that He holds out His hands to the Jews who are a disobedient and gain saying people. That’s God’s love. He sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. That’s God’s love. For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son. This salvation and gift is for all who freely choose to accept it. In fact, Jesus even felt a separation from the Father while on the cross (Although Jesus knew He was not separated from the Father). But the point here is that Jesus was taking our place. Sin separates us from GOD and Jesus was experiencing the punishment of sin in our place. Jesus took on the sins within that cup in the Garden that had all our sins within it. So when Jesus was whipped and beaten, we read about in Isaiah, by His stripes we are healed. In fact, the very gospel message in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 is substitutionary. It says Christ died for our sins. Jesus said, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13).

Did you know that grace means kindness today Ferris, a much easier word to understand. It is hard to understand 2 Pet 3:9 as being kind, but those of us who know the outcome, do see the wisdom in that statement, and why He has allowed this system to go on so long. When He does send His forces to bring it to it's close, it will benefit the most possible people. When I contemplate the coming of God's Kingdom, I always think of the closing words of the Bible, Amen! Come Lord Jesus! Won't that be a glorious day for Jesus' followers sir?

His judgments are just and right. He allows mankind to be redeemed. But he does not allow the fallen angels to be redeemed. His plan and the way he's handling rebellion in his universe is the perfect plan.

You are correct Ferris, the fallen angels and you likely know as well that all those who sin against the holy spirit will not be redeemed.

Since Jesus is not God sir, of course you haven't offered "proof". Let's look into your proof sir, post a couple of passages that prove it, and we will examine them to see if that is what they say.
