Believe what you want. I don't care. Go ahead, worship Mary.

If you question the truth of the Bible, that is between you and God. Sola scriptura!
Another lie. Christians don't worship Mary and The Church does not teach us to worship her.

However, I would rather "worship" her than degrade her like you and your ilk are doing. Can you even write the words or at least agree that she was "blessed among women"? Or are you so anti-Catholic that you won't even say/write that?

SInce when is being Born by FAITH in the SIN OFFERING of Jesus (Eph 2:8,9) "MY CRITERIA"??? It's straight out of the Bible (that Roman Catholics seem not to take seriously unless it fits their agenda). The Church is PEOPLE - not Denominational systems, old art, stanedglass windows, pagentry, and ceremonies.

Perhaps the reason they have all that is due to the fact they don't have the genuine heavenly. They need to produce it in the natural realm to give the illusion of the heavenly. I'm not against Catholic people, but those in authority over them which lead them into certain doctrines.

Revelation 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
[3] For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
[4] And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
[5] For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
[6] Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.

[7] How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
[8] Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.

Of course THE REAL MARY will always be "Blessed among women" nobody's got a problem with that, y'all!!!! and protestants (knowing who THE REAL Mary IS) giver her to honor that belongs to her.

I'm out of a generational Roman Catholic Family (even have a couple of pages in a book by the diocese of Milan about Catholic families who emigrated to the Boston area about Giambaptiste Carabbio and his wife Felicita). DON'T YOU DARE try to tell me that Mary isn't WORSHIPPED in ways completely supported by the Roman Catholic Church.

It's the phony Roman Catholic "Mary thing" that we've got a problem with. When we pray, according to Jesus' instructions, we PRAY to Father God, IN JESUS' NAME. And we don't see the need to have your "Mary Thing" arm-twist her Son into giving us what we want.

Bod, we agree, she is blessed among women which means she is NOT an ordinary woman as you have alleged. Your "ordinary woman" statement is NOT giving her the honor she earned and deserves. There is one of your false allegations out of the way. :)

In regards to your false allegation of arm-twisting:
The Church teaches that we pray to God only and ask Mary to pray for us also...Just like I can ask you to pray for me. Am I twisting your arm when I ask you to pray to God for me? But, I get it, you don't think that Mary can hear our request for prayer. That's fine with me. It's not a salvific doctrine so believe and practice what you will.

Mary

Catholic foolishness!!! Moses was a "Ordinary Man", who, in the power of God delivered his people out of bondage. King David was an "Ordinary Man" who in the power of God was king over Israel, and Mary Was an "Ordinary woman" who, in the power of God served as the physical mother of God's SON. that's not "Denying her HONOR" its simply stating the FACTS of the matter.

Lol Jim....I do believe the bible. I believe she was blessed among women, just like Scripture says. You believe she was ordinary. Scripture does NOT say what you believe. Neither does God or Jesus. What more is there to say?

There is a lot more to say. Scripture does NOT say what you believe. Mary was a teenager chosen for one purpose: to be the human who gave birth to Jesus. Nothing more. She is exalted far, far above what Scripture says about her -- to satisfy false Catholic dogma.

She was not "ever virgin". Scripture clearly says that Jesus had siblings; nowhere does it say that they were not the children of Mary and Joseph. When Mary and Jesus' brothers appeared to talk to him, He clearly said that His disciples were His mother and brothers. (Of course this mean spiritually, but it also implies that Jesus didn't revere her the way Catholics do.)

Catholics elevate her way far above what the Bible says about her. I don't understand why; there must be an unScriptural need to create that myth.

Using your sola scriptura theory show me where it says that she wasn't forever a virgin. You can't, because it's not there.
Using sola Scriptura show me where it calls anyone other than Jesus the son of Mary. You can't, because it's not there.

Using sola Scriptura I can show you where scripture calls her a virgin!
Using sola Scriptura AND other factors about the history of Judaism and their linguistics I can show you that His siblings were not necessarily blood brothers.
Using the most ancient teachings of Christianity I can show you what Christians have believed and The Church has taught for 2,000 years.

You follow the 500 year teachings of men from the Protestant revolution. Even some of your Protestant revolutionaries didn't teach what you teach. Oh my how far from the tree if the original Church you have fallen. :(

These “brothers” are never once called the children of Mary, although Jesus himself is (John 2:1; Acts 1:14).

James and Joses were the sons of Mary of Clophas (Mk 15:40). Judas was the son of James (not either of the Apostles) (Lk 6:16). James the Lesser was the son of Alphaeus (Lk 6:15). James the Greater and John were the sons of Zebedee with a mother other than our Blessed Mother Mary (Mt 20:20).

Before He dies, our Lord says to Mary, "Woman, there is your son," and then to St. John, who is definitely not a blood brother, "There is your mother." According to Jewish law, the oldest son had the responsibility of caring for the widowed mother, and that responsibility would pass to the next oldest if anything happened to the first-born son. By this time, St. Joseph has died. Since Jesus, the first born, had no "blood brother," He entrusted Mary to the care of St. John, the Beloved Disciple. Interestingly,

I know your a smart man and you already knew all this. My concern is that you reject it and have accepted the teachings of Protestant men instead of the sola Scriptura teaching you profess and the teachings of men who lived closest to the time of Christ. Which ones would know better? The men who lived almost 2,000 years ago or the ones who lived 500 years ago?

God Bless...Mary

Why did you intentionally truncate my message? I also said this...

Stop distorting what I said!

Of COURSE (the real) Mary was "Blessed among women"!!! She was, after all, the one selected to bear God's SON. That's quite a blessing don'cha know.

Now what's THAT got to do with the blasphemous "Mary Thing" that the Roman Catholics have invented for themselves????

Luke 1:42, "She [Elizabeth] exclaimed with a loud voice, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child in your womb!", is one verse only. Basing doctrine on a single verse, said by Mary's cousin, is poor exegesis.

How about this? Luke 8:19-21, "Now Jesus’ mother and his brothers came to him, but they could not get near him because of the crowd. So he was told, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, wanting to see you.” But he replied to them, “My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it.”

How come Jesus didn't say, "Oh, my mother, blessed is she among women"? In fact, He clearly showed that those who believed in Him were actuallyHis true family.

Got it. So you believe that since there is are only 5 words in God breathed Scripture that are spoken by a mere human that we shouldn't accept the teaching (doctrine) that Mary is NOT blessed among women? That is poor exegesis? o_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_O Quoting God breathed Scripture and accepting what is said is poor doctrinal practice? Oh goodness Jim....

You are making absolutely NO sense Bob. First you allege that Mary was an ordinary woman. I point out that God breathed Scripture says that she was blessed among women which means she was NOT an ordinary so then you agree with me in post 1663 but then go on to call her an ordinary women in post #1665. Very confusing....

Tell God and Jesus she was ordinary. Stop telling me that. See if you can convince them. You haven't convinced me.

Who taught you that the teaching of The Church in regard to Mary are blasphemous? Are you self taught or are you repeating the teachings of your Protestant forefathers? Some of which disagree with you and agree with The Church.

So go ahead and glorify Mary all you want. It doesn't matter. The Bible says who she actually is in several places, and I believe what the Bible says in context.

You and other Catholics distort what the Bible says. You believe whatever myths your denomination dreams up. John the Baptizer, for example, has far more written about him than Mary does. He even baptized Jesus and called him "the lamb of God" (John 1:29). Why don't you worship him?

Meaningless. You are making blanket statements, which have no factual basis, about the body of Christ. It's simply your opinion.
I never said they were the BODY of CHRIST . a sold out church is not of the body . I also said i have not seen every single church .
There are some that still follow the lamb . But most are long ago sold out to this abominable all inclusive lie .

Hmmmm......so you don't agree that she was blessed among women?

Here is some reading for you...

Matthew 5:1-11...

When he saw the crowds, he went up the mountain. After he sat down his disciples came to him. Then he began to teach them by saying:

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to them.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the children of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to them.
Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you and say all kinds of evil things about you falsely on account of me

So if Mary is blessed because of what Elizabeth said, how much more are a) the poor in spirit, b) those who mourn, c) the meek, d) those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, e) the merciful, f) the pure in heart, g) the peacemakers, h) those who are persecuted for righteousness (for the kingdom of heaven belongs to them), and i) those who are insulted and persecuted falsely because they are called "blessed by Jesus himself, God in the flesh.

And in Luke 6:21-22, Jesus said, “Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh. “Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh."

And in John 20:29, "Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are the people who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Even Peter, one of the disciples, wrote "If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory, who is the Spirit of God, rests on you." 1 Peter 4:14

Jesus and Peter calling all these people "blessed" is obviously far more significant than what Elizabeth said about Mary in one verse!

"A great portent appeared in Heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of 12 stars.
she was pregnant and was crying out in birth pangs, in the agony of giving birth (Rev. 12:3)."
Interpretation: An image not of Israel, but of an exalted Mary, perhaps viewed as the mother of true Israel. zScholars recognize that this imagery is borrowed from Greco-Roman goddess mythology. But it is just poetic and therefore does not imply that an exalted Mary is a goddess.

"Then a dragon (Satan) stood before the woman who was about to bear a child, so that he might devour the child as soon as he was born (12:4)."
Interpretation: Satan's prompts Herod to kill Bethlehem's baby boys in an effort to kill the promised Messiah.

"And she gave birth to a child, a son who is to rule all nations with a rod of iron (12:5)."
Interpretation: A reference to the messianic prophecy about Jesus in Psalm 2:8-9.

"
But her child was snatched away and taken to God and to His throne (12:5)."
Interpretation: A reference to Jesus' resurrection and exaltation to the right hand of the Father.

"And the woman fled into the wilderness where she has a place prepared by God, so that there she can be nourished for 1,260 days (12:6)."
Interpretation: The flight of the Jerusalem church, together with surviving members of Jesus' family to the wilderness city of transjordanian Pella in the early 60s AD.
