When a person is baptized in the Holy Spirit (which is presented by Jesus as "Power for ministry"), the one would expect to be used BY the Holy Spirit in ways of ministry, that they hadn't experienced before.
Good point.

My experience/learning about the Holy Spirit..started in 1970's.
- the work of Holy Spirit, spiritual gifts, etc..

The bible tells us that when Jesus came out of the water after he was baptised he was filled with the Holy Spirit, So after he had been filled with the Holy Spirit he was led by the Holy Spirit into the desert where he was tempted by Satan but resisted. Then we are told that he returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit which gave him his authority

Matthew 3:16 “ As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him.”

Matthew 4:1 “Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil.”

Luke 4:1-2 says, “Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the desert, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil.”

Luke 4:14 says, “Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread through the whole countryside.”

I think that this is a crucial ‘key’ for living our Christian lives effectively. I know I have been filled by the Holy Spirit, probably more than once, and I know that I have been led by the Holy Spirit occasionally, but I don't think that I have ever truly walked in the power of the Spirit with authority, although I know there have been times when the Holy Spirit has used me.

Perhaps if we spent more time alone with God and resisting temptations then we would know more of the power of the Holy Spirit.

About 8 years ago I was sitting in a chair when the spirit sent waves of spiritual down on me like water. Is that baptized with the spirit?
No. This is only a divine blessing. Some of my students and I received hundreds of them.

Do you believe that you can lose your Salvaiton?
Salvation cannot be lost but, contrary to what many Christians think, being baptized in water isn't enough to be saved.

It was an awesome experience. I had a multitude of experiences that were different around that time. And they were from God I believe. Thanks for your input :)

In the message from God I was told I could be a church leader if I wanted. But I felt I wasn't ready for something like that.

When David was anointed, it took many years before he became a king. He was being prepared for becoming king during that time. It’s seen in Esthers purification period before she could be presented to the king.
It’s seen when Moses went away/ran away for some period of time before he came back. It’s seen with Paul, who didn’t consult with any other believers for 14? years.
We are being prepared for His purposes on earth and are being prepared to bear the weight of His glory.
Everything He brings to us, all our sufferings, the things we become entangled in, the circumstances we find ourselves in - it’s all preparation. The renewing of our mind, the growing of our trust - it’s all Gods workings.

I have received a calling from God. I have been guided to work on a physics theory. I see him guiding me thru what is true and what is false. I think perhaps this is what he has spoken to me for.

Yes. And satan is always working, through the vehicle of our carnal man, at cross purposes to God. He is adept at manipulating our flesh. He does NOT want the Spirit to manifest through us and our inner man.
He wants the power over us, so he is always about strengthening the outer man so he can keep us from manifesting the Spirit. He is always whispering and hissing and muttering lies designed to keep us from the crucifying of our flesh, and in fact, designed to strengthen the outer man of flesh, so the new life in us can’t break forth. He actually oppresses us through our outer man.

Jesus I know and Paul I know, but who are you? That’s men trying to attempt something without the power.

SO you felt that God was not being truthful with you, then??? Seems Moses had the same issues.

Bottom line IF YOUVE HAD AN ENCOUNTER with God, it will lead to something (which may be a "Struggle") which is God's will in your life. You CAN refuse Him, of course, but that's not a good career decision.

Not at all. You misunderstood. God asked me if I wanted to be a leader in a church. He didn't ask me to be one. It was sort of a different message though and personal which is why I'm not really sharing it. He discussed leaders in churches and how some are fallible with desire for power over the people.

I have another calling that God gave me. But I don't think baptism of the spirit has to come with a change or calling.

Thank you for sharing this! It really spoke to me. I was Baptized in the Spirit 3 years ago, and have been impatient with myself when it comes to a few areas in my life, where the progress is slow in crucifying my outer man. I was given a spiritual dream about it last week, but hadn't thought about it for a few days until this morning. Then I read your post, seeing God speak to me more about it. :) I guess if God knows our hearts desire for Him, He remains faithful in completing the work in us.

Did it change you?
Did you experience life anew?
Did you experience peace beyond understanding?
Did you do a 180 with a new goal and direction?
Were you blown over?

Your asking--I mean your questioning it, makes it sound like that is not what happened.

No nothing changed except my understanding of Gods power and authority. I stayed the same. Around that time I also saw Jesus in the Throne sitting in a chair with lightning striking all around. He looked cunning and all powerful with black hair.

I have been communicated with the Holy Spirit with immense Love, Peace and even Joy. But again, I don't believe that the baptism needs to change us.

Sounds like the anti-Christ, Satan appearing as an angel of light.

I doubt it. But that is a very convenient position for you to take since I don't believe the same way you do about baptism with the Holy Spirit.
