"And to the angel of the church in Pergamum write: These things saith he that hath the sharp two-edged sword:
I know where thou dwellest, even where Satan's throne is; and thou holdest fast my name, and didst not deny my faith, even in the days of Antipas my witness, my faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwelleth."

Rev 2:12 & 13

I have written elsewhere in these pages of the importance of the modern nation of Turkey in the political alignments of current events. It is my belief, based upon history, Biblical prophecy, Islamic prophecy, and the general trend of events today that the nation of Turkey will provide the political power base for the authority of the anti-Christ.

There has been and continues to be a lot of discussion as to which nation or nation group will provide the throne for Satan's envoy on earth. Rome? Washington? Jerusalem? All and more have been debated endlessly. I suppose such discussion will continue. All of it is based on personal opinion with no foundation in the Bible. Oh yes, scripture is quoted to support arguments, but did not even Satan do that? The Bible states clearly and simply where this person will find a political base; Turkey.

Read the quote above. Pergamum, or Pergamon depending upon the translation you use, is in Turkey. The seat of Satan will be in Turkey. It just happens that Turkey is also a Muslim country.

The above is a link to a Turkish daily news source English version. I suggest you drop in once a week or so and read the things that are being said and done by folks there. We don't hear of it in America. Turkey is very interested in expanding their influence in the middle east especially since the advent of Arab Spring. Political realignment in the middle east provides a great opportunity for the expansion of Turkish influence. For example, an article in the Hurriyet News last week indicated that Turkey is making strong overtures to Egypt to expand their trade relations.

We should also be aware that despite the financial earthquakes that are sweeping back and forth across Europe, Turkey alone remains financially strong. In fact, it is growing. While other nations, including America, are having their financial credit rating degraded, Turkey's is going up. No military or political advantage can be gained against Israel without a strong financial foundation and Turkey is the only Muslim nation that has it.

There is a lot more that can be said, but for now; WATCH TURKEY.

That Message Christ gave those at the Church at Pergamos about Satan's seat was for 'their' time, because of the pagan idolaters that surrounded them in that time.

The Greek word katoikeo is about a dwelling, not a throne. That translation you use is misleading you.

But we should be watching Turkey today, but for another reason. That area is included in the list of nations of Ezek.38 that are to come upon Israel in final.

Go back and study the pagan spiritualism that came out of Pergamum. A facsimile of the temple that was built there was constructed in Berlin by the NAZI party in the 1930's and stands to this day. The wickedness of the spirit in that place remains to this day and to our time.

The holy word stands in the face of revisionism and false doctrine. The translation I use for this is the KJV, RV & ASV. I do not refer to more 'modern' translations that seek to gut the tone and purpose of God's word or to explain away the gospel so as to be politically correct. The Bible says that Satan's throne is in Pergamum and so that is where it is. It does not name any other city.

Personally I believe that if a city were indeed to be substituted for that core of wickedness upon the earth it would be Washington, DC. There is no more villanous, licentious or debauched place like it.....anywhere.

But that's just me and I didn't write the book. I only quote from it.

Nonsense: Pergamum was the city where the Proconsul or Governor of Asia resided. He was the one who figuratively sat in Satan's seat. He had the power of the ius Gladii - the right of the sword. He could have anyone executed at will with no trial. All high ranking Roman officials had this power - Remember Pilate? The Christians who lived in Asia, starting in 93AD, were sent there for final Judgment when they refused to state publically in front of a statue of the Emperor that he was God. They were given a second chance after being sent before the Proconsul to deny Christ in favor of the Emperor. If they did not they were sent down to Ephesus, which was a seaport city, to be shipped to the arena's of Rome for execution.

Domitian executed approximately 2,000 Christians. The worst time in Roman history was under Diocletian who killed an estimated 450,000 Christians. They disbanded the practice of sending the Christians to Pergamum in time because there were just too many to have time to judge. When the numbers increased they were given their "trial" or final chance to renounce Jesus just before the execution. The road between Ephesus and Pergamum was known back then as "The Martyrs Way."

Revelation was written to the first century Christians who were in a very serious time of persecution and martyrdom. It was not written to 21st century Americans as a religious hobby like it has become in our day. Today the usual practice is to move everything to yet our future - which is totally errant. There were about 2,100,000 Christians who died under the Roman empire. It was to these and all who suffer to this day. To date - there have been over 75,000,000 Christians who have died for their faith all over the world. Over half are said to be from the 20th century alone. Martyrdom increases as the population growth of the world. Today the population is 13 times what it was in the first century.

So what doe this mean today? Ask the Pastor who is slated to be executed in Iran for his witness of Jesus. He is in the same identical position as the first century Christians - deny Christ and live. It's all in our words and not in any bad deeds on the Christians part. The book of Revelation is the Millennial rule of God in the midst of his enemies. And we need to understaand it as they did because its principles will extend to the end of time.

The English translation type doesn't matter, it's still in reference to the paganism at Pergamos at that time, especially because of Antipas' martyrdom that happened in that time.

The reason why it's a metaphorical reference to Satan's seat, is because Satan has never chosen just one place to operate from (recall what he said to God in Job 1:7 and 2:2). To take it in the literal sense (as you seem to be doing), would have to mean that literal geographical location on earth is where Satan de facto is today, in person.

The scriptures say it's Babylon. Not the U.S. Not the EU. Not Rome.

Habakkuk 1, Isaiah 21, and Revelation 14, 16, 17, and 18 describe Babylon as the core of wickedness and jihadist terror network pretty well. These scriptures describe a place in the desert/wilderness where the evil ones come from. In the desert are Mecca and Medina. They are the Glory of Kedar!

Habakkuk 1:6 For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces that are not theirs.

Revelation 14:8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

Revelation 16:19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

Revelation 17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

Revelation 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

Isaiah 21:9 And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground.
