The Understanding to “ask Jesus into ones heart” is Biblical. Post # 8

I KNOW what you’re proposing is NOT in the scripture.

I clearly stated in Post # 8 The Understanding is Biblical.

So please, show me some scriptures?

* Belief is one thing.
* Knowing The Lords Offering is another thing.
* Confessing Belief to the Lord, is another thing.
* Knowing what Works God will do “AFTER a bodily DEATH”, for a Heartful True Confession is another thing.
* Knowing one SHALL BE Saved, “IF” they continue in BELIEF until the DAY they DIE, is another thing.
* Knowing the difference between a Water baptism men perform, and Baptism of the Holy Spirit performed by the Spirit of God, is another thing.

* Knowing one can....ASK...and ye shall receive.
John 16:24

* Knowing God will give you a new Heart
Ezek 36:26

* Knowing God will Quicken a mans spirit, reborn of Gods Seed.
Ezek 36:27

* Knowing God will give you the Spirit of Truth. (With you, In you)
John 14:17

* Knowing Jesus IS the Truth.
John 14:16

* Knowing Christ IS Spirit and will Dwell IN YOU.
Rom 8:9

* Knowing The Spirit of God dwells IN a mans new Heart.
Eph 3:17

Let your yes be yes...
Matt 5:37

Yes, Christ Lord Jesus, I believe, Yes, Please Lord Come into my Heart...
While you will not find those express words....the Understanding is Biblical, as I said. The emphasis is a persons own asking for the Lords Works of Conversion, of the Lords Spirit to Dwell IN them.

The Lord Offers Permanent Forgiveness, Salvation of ones soul, Quickening of ones spirit........immediately.........IF, that person is willing to lay down his own LIFE right then....and receive The Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Gods Spirit WILL be IN you...also WITH you Forever.

The Lord Offers men SHALL be SAVED, IF they believe, continue Believing until the DAY they physically die. They can continue to sin, repeatedly ask for forgiveness, and HOPE they continue in Belief.
Gods Spirit will be WITH you IF you continue believing to the day you physically die.

you adding to scripture

it don’t say born again by the spirit or by the spirit alone

it don’t say born of water born again of the spirit!

it say: Jn 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

water AND the spirit!

Yipes so elementary.

Natural Birth not a secret..born of water.
Spiritual Birth not a secret...born of the Spirit.

John 3:
[8] The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Yes.

Great scripture!

But then:

“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” (Ephesians 6:11)

yep but that’s the daily counsel for Christians who have faith and baptism

really? What’s the water for?
Like I said, the first birth has lots of water...do you see ANYTHING in those verses speaking of "baptism"? Seems so many seem to equate water with baptism automatically...?

that’s great but the action that make one born again is both water AND the spirit!

not faith alone!

and you’re response to vs 22

Cos you wash with water

but it says born again by both water and the spirit

A sacrament is an oath! A sacred promise from God! Ez 36:25-27

Jesus says: I remind you you’re still under oath!

A sacrament is an outward sign for all men including infants And a gift from God to help us see what he does inwardly and invisibly by his grace!

As grace Washes our souls in the merits of Jesus blood from original and personal sin, so the outward action of washing is visible!

without the outward action the inward action cannot take place!

Jn 3:5 Titus 3:5 water and washing
acts 22:16 wash away your sin!

Jn 3:5 Born again BY water and the spirit! Not by “faith alone”!

They did not go to Jerusalem and preach “accept Christ as you’re personal Lord and savior “

They went to the river (water) and they baptized! Jn 3:22

A covenant requires an outward sign of the inward action of grace!

Ez 36:25 I will sprinkle you with clean water and you shall be made white as snow.

Acts 22:16 washing away your sins.

Eph 4:5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism.

1 pet 3:21 baptism saves you.

Baptism!

God breathed life into Adam, gen 2:7 and we received this life from our fathers!

Christ breathed on the apostles our spiritual fathers, we receive the new covenant life of God’s grace from them thru faith & baptism! Jn 20:21-23 Mk 16:16 acts 8:36-38 eph 2

Born again! Born from above!

'The Father has set his seal' on Christ (John 6:27) and also seals us in him (cf. 2 Corinthians 1:22; Ephesians 1:23, 4:30). Because this seal indicates the indelible effect of the anointing with the Holy Spirit in the sacrament of Baptism,

Baptism indeed is the seal of eternal life." 87 The faithful Christian who I has "kept the seal" until the end, remaining faithful to the demands of his Baptism, will be able to depart this life "marked with the sign of faith," 88 with his baptismal faith, in expectation of the blessed vision of God - the consummation of faith - and in the hope of resurrection.

St. Paul tells the faithful at Ephesus that they have been “sealed with the promised Holy Spirit.” This is in terms of an indelible character imprinted on the soul in the sacraments of baptism and confirmation. It is not as if this invisible mark is simply decorative. Rather, through it, we are enabled to participate in Christ’s mission and in his offices of priest, prophet, and king. Eph 1:13

Sealed by God eph 1:13 sealed by God (ez 36:25-27) in the ark of salvation by baptism just as Noah was sealed by God in the ark of the flood gen 7:16

1 Pet 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us!
(Ark of Noah a type of the church, member of Christ and his church and salvation by baptism!)
(Outside the ark of Noah none were saved, outside the church (the ark of salvation) none are saved!)

Sealed in the ark, sealed in the church the ark of salvation by God thru baptism!

Effects of faith & baptism!

Ez 36:25-27 washed in baptism, with a new heart and the Spirit
Jn 3:5 born again in baptism
Mk 16:16 faith & baptist
Acts 2:38 repentance & baptism
Acts 8:36-38 faith & baptism
Acts 22:16 baptism washes away sin
Rom 6:3 died with Christ
Col 2:12 risen with Christ
1 cor 12:13 baptized into the church
Gal 3:27 by baptism put on Christ
2 Tim 1:10 brought to life
2 cor 5:17 new creation
Eph 1:13 sealed by the Holy Spirit
Eph 2:1&5 brought to life in baptism
Eph 4:5 one baptism
Eph 5:26 faith and baptism
Titus 3:5 baptismal regeneration
1 pet 1:2 washed in Christ’s blood
1 pet 2:9 and not the kingdom of light
1 pet 3:20-21 baptism saves us!

“Faith alone” accomplishes nothing!
1 cor 13:2 even all faith (alone) without charity avails NOTHING!!!

Faith and baptism!

Scripture says none of the things about “Faith alone”!

Yes, Christ Lord Jesus, I believe, Yes, Please Lord Come into my Heart...

Sure, you can pray that prayer.

But in Acts none of the Apostles told their audience that they needed to ask Jesus into their hearts to be saved.

Jesus is in us completely, not just in our heart.

But I read your explanation and I appreciate your reasons for defending the idea.

I think that is a whole other discussion.

Romans 10:13 - For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Yes!

Hours before his death...up speaks a nobody of importance and crime committer...

Luke 23:
[40] But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
[41] And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
[42] And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

In one instant that “nobody” “accused by men” acknowledged Lord Jesus, God, His kingdom, fear reverence and His innocence.

[43] And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

IMO, the greatest revealing for the person who may think themselves too unworthy for the Lord to be bothered with.

Praise and Glory to our Great Lord God Almighty,

Romans 10:13 - For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

It does take more than just speaking the words. We see that the scripture continues:

"How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?" Rom 10:14

For a person who comes to the realization that he is lost and in need of Jesus Christ to save him (Romans 3:23; 6:23) he may obtain salvation only by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. (Ephesians 2:8,9) One needs to understand that Jesus Christ, God in human form, took his sins and paid the penalty for his sins by His sacrifice on the cross of Calvary, was buried, and rose again the third day, and he needs to make a genuine and willful decision to totally trust in Jesus Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of his salvation.

Now if subsequent to such a decision, the person would like to pray what some call a "sinner’s prayer," (calling on the name of the Lord to save him) he may do so, as long as he understands that it was his decision to trust in Jesus Christ for salvation that apprehends his salvation and not simply reciting a prayer in of itself. Reciting a prayer, in of itself does not save, as if it's a magical formula to recite a set of words, but prayer may be used to sincerely call upon the name of the Lord. (Romans 10:13)

it means you accept Jesus into your heart & ask him to forgive you :) then you get baptized
@shortangel It's interesting in Acts 2.41 that those who gladly received his word were baptized: they were baptized because they believed in the Lord Jesus; they didn't supposedly get baptized in order to become believers.
