Not to mention some of the Bible prophecies which seem that they could be fulfilled in a nuclear attack. I studied Nuclear Chemistry in school, yeah, it's not a pretty thing!

I do prefer to have only the voice of trust in my mind, and not counterpoint it with the constant worldly babblings of worry and fear, which only feed the flesh.

That's the thing, I think, so very much of Television is geared towards feeding and inciting our flesh.

Much love!
Yes, I do watch YouTube movies. And I find that in order to not get a bad spiritual feeling, I have to steer away from most of it. It's usually either sexual or brutal. So I try to watch shows that are neither. And I would check out Fox news when I did so. It had that type of content also.

Oh, but the idea of any caliphate is going to perish with the Gog/Magog invaders. Have you noticed, all the countries named with Persia, the militarized Islamic countries? I don't think there will be an Islamic caliphate. They get toasted.

I don't wanna highjack the thread, but my contention all along has been that the mentions of ancient weapons in Ezekiel 38 don't fit well with thinking it was talking about modern warfare. I was talking about this with a woman a few days ago and she tried to spiritualize the words in Ezekiel 38:4-5, by saying:

Horses - `cuc` meaning moving rapidly.
Shields -`meginnah,` meaning a protector.
Bucklers - `tsinnah,` meaning something piercing.
Swords - `chereb,` meaning a cutting instrument.

My response was that for one she was using root words provided in Strongs etymology rather than the actual words themselves, and that the wording used in the LXX was pretty clearly referring to ancient weaponry:

My reply:

ἵππους καὶ ἱππεῖς = Horses and horsemen. This can hardly be read as anything other than what it was literally referring to. The horse was an important part of ancient warfare, but was already ceasing to play any significant role by WWI. They were still used by some armies in WWII, but only the outdated ones, or those on their last legs.

θώρακας = Breatsplates. This is the same exact word as is used in Ephesians 6, in reference to putting on the breastplate of righteousness. Since the application in that passage was to the full compliment of armor worn by the Roman soldier, the meaning is pretty clearly defined.

πέλται καὶ περικεφαλαῖαι καὶ μάχαιραι = Shields and helmets and swords. The last two are again the same words used in Ephesians. The word πέλται referred to a small light shield, as opposed to the heavy shields used by the Romans, but it was clearly a handheld shield nonetheless.

To make these words out to be referring to anything else - modern weaponry of some sort - would be a stretch, IMO. The judgement of Gog and Magog can therefore only refer to one of two things: Either something that happened in the ancient past, or something that will happen in the distant future after the earth has forgotten about war for a thousand years and then starts to pick it up again. Since there is no convincing case for the former, I still have to go with the latter.

Ditto! We get stuff from the library, or youtube, we've got all the episodes of "The Middle", and "Law and Order", but not SVU. Like you said, I steer away from most everything out there.

Much love!

I'm not going to reply.

We can do another thread if you want.

Much love!

Nah. I was just responding for her sake.

She seems nice; been posting here as well. She's off, but then who hasn't been in their life at least once or twice.

I usually catch children's shows as they don't have that content. But every so often I'll watch an adult show like transformers or something where that which is destroyed isn't human. That seems to help me. The other day I picked up a new YouTube free with ads movie and boom, there was the gore. It was a well known actor so I thought it was safe. But I just shut it off.

I have been steering clear of the news lately since Ukraine caused me so much turmoil and I got to say I am feeling better spiritually. Let's face it the news is full of vicious gossip and reports on the cruelty of others. There is a lot of negativity in the news as well on mainly reporting on the rich and famous. I honestly feel better now.

I'm honestly so happy to hear this. I checked out a while ago and am a happier person for it. I used to think it was just me not having the mental constitution for it.

But Im starting to think this is healthier in general. My husband also benefits from not watching it. Plus, you have to think, what did people do before they had access to 24/7 global information? They probably lived and were fine.

Revelation is interesting and highly subject to various interpretations. I suppose watching the news might be a way to watch for the signs of the times. But then I do get the important news here from others. And if they don't mind it then, super. And with people reporting we can discuss how it is or is not a sign of the times or a prophecy.

Thanks! I remember the 70's and for me personally it was a much happier time. Not sure why. But things have sped up and changed. And it's the media, schools and what is taught to the youth. They are different now than we used to be. And we were different than our grandparents. Slowly over the ages upbringing and what is happening has all changed. Some for the better but some for the worse.

We've picked a couple recently, I get about 10 minutes in, and, That's enough!

We benefit from knowing ourselves, and what to guard our minds and tender sensitivities against.

Much love!

I remember a time in high school when culture wars were not as hostile. I had civil discussions with people about political issues.

It just seems like a lot of that civility has been lost as things become more radicalized and "woke".

Edit: this was before 2013.

I get a lot of the radicalized and woke news on Facebook. There are literally people that spend their entire lives making woke and radicalization memes.

Yeah I just take a quick look online to make sure any nuclear bombs haven’t gone off then go about my day. News sucks.
I check Jerusalem Post to see if Russia/Persia is invading yet.

Much love!

Yep :) I watch the earthquakes on the USGS earthquake map. I almost quit watching after Putin kept threatening nuclear mode. Cause I knew that I might be looking at nuclear detonations instead of actual earthquakes  But I do catch the map and see an occasional rock quarry blast.

The mainstream media have all become propagandists for the extreme Left and all the evil that goes with it. I do not watch any TV news or listen to any radio broadcasts. However there are still several conservative news sources online, and one can simply glance at the headlines to see what is happening. And what is happening right now is the total destruction of nations and individuals, as well as freedom and democracy, and the implementation of insane policies, while the New World Order is being established.

Definitely a trend in the comments here, less MSM, stronger Spirituality, and I concur. The Goal of the MSM, both right and left is to divide us.

We haven’t watched TV for about 7 years. The adult programming, the supposed children’s programming, the commercials, the so called news stations....
are TOXIC CESSPOOL programming centers, with beautiful colors, beautiful shiny pretty things, beautiful flawless (camouflaged) looking people,
*To capture your EYES/seeing attention;
and words magically implying they granting you a Power,
*To capture your EARS/hearing attention;

IMO, TV, expanded to other electronically devices have become the number one world’s ADDICTION...tune in see, hear...

Don’t be fooled, the Programers running the shows are fully aware they are promoting, fostering, scamming and controlling the ADDICTS.
