but did they have kingdom authority and power to bind

That’s a government question. God establishes government, doesn’t he? Do government leaders have authority and power to bind? I believe they do. I also believe they will be held accountable for how they exercise their authority and for what they bind.

Isa 22:21-22 kingdom authority

Isaiah 22:21-22 concerns a man named Eliakim, the son of Hilkiah. God said that he would remove a man named Shebna and put Eliakim in his place. The servant administered / governed the royal household. He had the authority to do so.

Isn’t “kingdom authority” government administration - in the example you cited, government administration of the royal household by a servant - established by God?

If so, then doesn’t it apply to the “spiritual religious authority” you’re asking about? If not, then I don’t understand your appeal to the example in Isaiah.

yes but I thought you were speaking of state government

anyway they were commanded to obey these successors who sat in the seat of Moses.

Matt 23 why does Jesus say to obey the successors of Moses?

The successors of Moses sit in the chair of Moses having the authority of the keys and the power to bind and loose Matt 23 and Jesus commanded them to be obeyed! Then the kingdom was taken from them matt 21:43 and given to Peter, Matt 16:18 the apostles, Matt 18:18 and their successors with the authority of the keys and the power to bind and lose!

Jesus said to obey the authority of the successors of Moses mt 23 authority of the keys and power to bind and loose and this power and authority was taken from them matt and given by Christ to Peter, the apostles and their successors, mt 16:18 18:18 this same authority and power must be obeyed!

mt 28:18-20 all authority is given to Peter, the apostles, and their successors requiring obedience, rom 1:5 obedience to the faith!
And Jesus say to Peter, the apostles, and their successors: behold I am with you even until the end of the world!!!
So the apostles have to remain until the end! Revelation 5:10
And hast made us unto our God kings and Priests: and we shall reign on the earth. Reign with kingdom authority (keys) power (bind loose) matt 16:18
The successors of Peter and the apostles have a valid jurisdictional authority (keys) and power (bind and loose) by Jesus Christ!

Lk 10:16
He who hears you hears me...

John 13:20
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

We’re in agreement, apart from the RCC dogma embedded in your comments.

Spiritual Fathers have care for our souls!

Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Jn 21:17 feed my sheep:

Heb 13:7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.

Heb 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they care for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

1 Tim 1:2 Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.

Gal 4:19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you

1 John 2
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not.

That makes Paul and John spiritual fathers, pastors of our souls!

The truth, in love.

Yes. I think of it as a matter of balance, with wisdom (or the lacking thereof) tipping the scales.

I see in Christ the wisdom of God.

His followers should be like him; Christlike.

Speaking only for myself, not often but still too often. I occasionally examine myself by looking back at posts I’ve made. I see good moments but I also see moments that now make me cringe. I see success and I see failure. I see growth and attribute it to the spirit of Christ in me.

I’ve been occupied with other things since I first read your post this morning but I wanted you to know that my mind keeps returning to what you wrote, and to thank you. You’ve done me, and I think your readers, a good service.
What a mighty God we serve! Glory to His name!

The most important daily prayer!

“The morning offering”!

Have a pure intention!

To accept and suffer all things according to the will of God!
Matt 16:24 Phil 1:29

If you have something to suffer say:

My Jesus it is for love of Thee!

Or My Jesus who suffered so much for love of me, this I suffer for love of Thee!

Traditional morning offering!

O My God; in union with the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you Thee the precious blood of Jesus, joining with my every thought word and deed, (my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings) for the salvation of souls, in reparation for sin, I offer them together with myself to the glory of Thy name!

Then say the Lord’s Prayer!
And psalm 23!
The most important prayer as I see it is given in the parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector:

Luke 18:9-14

New International Version

The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector
9 To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’

13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’

14 “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

not the most important but most important “daily” prayer

sorry rev 12:1

Rev 12:1 does not mention prayer. it is a figment of your imagination.

Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman adorned with the sun, standing on the moon, and with the twelve stars on her head for a crown

Prayers and intercession of the saints!

Jesus Christ is the Head of the church Eph 5:23 the only mediator 1 Tim 2:5 and chief intercessor, makes intercession for the saints! (The church) Rom 8:26-27 8:34 heb 7:25

The saints also make intercession!

1 Timothy 2:1
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

Revelation 5:8
And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.

Revelation 8:3
And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.

Revelation 8:4
And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.

James 5:16 …The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Jn 11:25 (the saints are alive) Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

All generations call me blessed! Lk 1:
Thanksgiving in praise of Mary for bearing our savior! Matt 1:23 And finding our salvation! Lk 1:30

Praise honor veneration and devotion redound to the Glory of God who created Mary immaculate Lk 1:49 as Christ source of all grace! Jn 1:16-17

Praise, honor, veneration, and devotion are not worship, worship requires intent!

Mary all powerful advocate!
Help of Christian’s!

Mary ever virgin, mother of God, is all powerful in her prayers!

Mary’s prayers are all powerful not cos she is God but because her son is God!

and on becoming man He (Jesus) obeyed his own commandments

you might check out the one that says “honor Thy father and mother”

“My hour has not come”

The time set by almighty God for the public ministry of Christ had not come, Jesus Christ still performed the miracle cos his mother interceded, thus a higher law, “honor thy father and mother” if ANYONE else asked it would NOT have been done!
John 2

and cos of her intercession the disciples believed in Him!
Jn 2:11

no in person!

They’re not here in person.

2 John 1:12
Having many things to write unto you, I would not write with paper and ink: but I trust to come unto you, andspeak face to face, that our joy may be full.

Did he go to her in person? The Bible doesn’t say. We’re left only with his stated intention or desire to do so.
