@shortangel It's good to be able to quit smoking; ppl do need to remember that it has been extremely widespread in the past; it's also good to not "moralize"/"guilt-manipulate" ppl, as if not smoking were an article of religion. Like you say, no one can choose to quit on behalf of someone else.

Well,,,,,,,, I am 86 years old,,,,,, I started to smoke in my teens, and did smoke
for years...... finally about 2 or 3 years ago,,, I finally tried to quit and it took a while.
But I do not smoke any more and do not want to !!! At the time I smoked I did like it
but now I am so very glad I stopped........ It cost 25 cents a pack at that time,,,,
I do not have any idea what it is now.
Those who still smoke,,,, I hope and pray you will soon try to stop and be able to do so.
BLESSINGS to YOU !!!

Hi @Grams So good to see you again.

Great header verse there from Ephesians!

Glad you were able to quit! (and to be able to stay quit...)

Of course, what a lot of younger ppl today just don't realize is just how very widespread it was years ago for ppl to smoke. Including women. Especially women. It's was something that was done so widely as a matter of course. Cigarette pack in purse, in apron pocket; it was kind of so automatic and ppl moralized against it less in those days.
