I dare you to post Acts 2:38 on this thread.
Are you sure about that? ... opss darn saved again
So many salvation questions? Are you sure about that? ... opss darn saved again
I want you to write Acts 2:38, 100 times on a piece of paper and turn it in at the end of the day for being an Acts skipper.BORING!!!
LOLA...... C.........T........zzzzzzzz --- BORING!!!
LOL
This is the type foolishness one will engage when they don't know how a person is saved.
As Paul said, "it is with the heart that man believes unto righteousness."
And them he said "with the mouth confession is made into salvation."
But it seems you guys have ignored the only explanation of salvation given in scripture.
Rom. 10:9-10
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
You skipped Acts again, Charlie. This is the type foolishness one will engage when they don't know how a person is saved.

Why is the worst scripture in the Bible to them, Acts 2:38?
Would they rather cut off their hand or pluck out their eye than obey it?
.
Repentance is NOT mentioned in your PET VERSES, but like baptism it is very much required.
Consider the following, pieces of the larger picture...
Luke 13:5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved...
Acts 2:38 encapsulates all of the above:
Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart(they now believe), and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Believing and repenting is the same?...What do think "believe" means? Peter could have said "believe" instead of repent and it would have been the same.
To believe in Christ (if it's proper belief) means that you have accepted the Cross, and know you need a Saviour.
That in itself is a turn around, a change that takes place in the heart.
Believing and repenting is the same?...
19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
...the devils even confess Jesus is the son of God.
Repentance is believing?

The only explanation of salvation given in scripture?
"For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God; it is not from works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8-9
Those verses tells you no works are involved in salvation.
The verses I gave tells you HOW you are saved.
Say what? "For by grace you are saved through faith" tells you exactly HOW you are saved: through faith.
In your own words, "This is the type foolishness one will engage when they don't know how a person is saved."
Salvation comes from the heart, that is the key to knowing how salvation takes place when we believe.
Of course we know we are saved by grace through faith, but salvation does not take place in water or our good works, it comes by faith from the heart.
The verse I gave tells you HOW you are saved -- by faith. And it is not from yourself; it is the gift of God.
Boy howdy.
Christendom would rather fight than switch and obey Acts 2:38.
