My experience on other "Christian" websites, is that sooner or later, if you don't believe what the management believes, you are not tolerated. It's been a real blessing for me to be able to speak my mind here.

I think it takes a different kind of calling and make up to moderate well, so I tend to admire those who can. This forum and another one stick out to me as having such people. At the same time it pays to get to know people and learn what they believe. Even the best of them will eventually start chafing at the edges if you keep rubbing them completely the wrong way on a regular basis.

haha! I meant “ oldie “ as older members ,…who I greatly miss these days …
If you are ‘elderly ‘ I’m am sure I am then ancient!
Have you passed 80 yet? I have… and hubby is 84

blessings …H
80 is the new 60, but I'm not there yet. I'm 69, but I'm frequently the youngest in the crowd at my church.

You know, I just tried something I forgot about that worked in the past - I turned the tv volume off from its full volume loud and sat in front of the window and every time there was a loud pop, I said, oh, that was a goood one! The dog came to the window for a long time with me and eventually I stopped saying anything and then when there was a loud pop she started looking back at me to say the magic words to assure her. Now she’s running around with her toy not bothered in the least!

I did that with my other dog when he was a puppy and there was a thunderstorm. I’d take him on the porch in my lap and say it and give him rubs every time there was a loud crack. Can’t believe I forgot it…

Awww, that is precious!!!!

I wasn't aware that JW's run this forum. Are Muslims allowed? I'm not Muslim FYI.

Didn’t you fill out your profile information when you created the profile, Jack?
I’m pretty sure that the religion marker was mandatory - and there wouldn’t be any use for multiple choice if Muslims wasn’t allowed.

Why do you feel the urge to ridicule JW’s? Who can patent the word/definition of Christian? JW’s identify as Christians so they are Christians - the word Christian has an extremely broad definition and since it’s a religion, one can claim it, if they follow Jesus.

I’m not a JW and I disagree with their theology or version of the Bible, but I feel that they are, in many ways, more Christlike than most the people who claim to be Christians. In many instances JW are more right with the wrong Bible than supposed political Christians with the right Bible.

As epi says, it’s better to get your theory wrong but your practice right than to get your theory right but your practice wrong.
As amigo says , one had better believe in JESUS confessing Him and believing that GOD has rose Him from the dead
than follow any other false religion or mindset . Only Faith in Christ will save . Be encouraged everyone .
Now point to CHRIST and tell all that JESUS is the Only name whereby they may be saved .

Careful, Jack.
If something was revealed to you and not to another, don’t let it take you into judgement. Stay humble and thankful and leave judgement to God. By all means, use scripture and give an answer but guard your heart and don’t let displays of flesh in others in here influence you to respond in kind.
Have you heard the expression that when you are driving other drivers on the road teach you what NOT to do?
Warning against something is neither hate nor the wrong kind of judgment .
I would like us all to be refreshed with a simple reminder that is written in revelation .
First blessed is the one who reads and those who hear this . That is stated in revelation . So as with any scripture
i say let us heed that as well.
And so let us examine the message that we know GOD gave , that Christ gave to the churches .
And we see that one message to a certain church said , I HAVE THIS AGAINST YOU
that you ALLOW . now i stopped it there and made bold the word ALLOW to show us something . TO remind us of something .
What follows that ALLOW and to notice it said YOU ALLOW .
YE ALLOW that false one to TEACH and to SEDUCE my people . Now i know most folks dont know the history of the JW
just as they dont know the history of how mormonism began or other false hoods began .
But those of us WHO KNOW ITS FALSE have to and must warn against that which is false . WE cant just be under the spell
that unity matters more than truth . cause as YOU KNOW we would never sit under any such unity .
AND YET MANY DO because they have sat under the wrong folks . EVEN PETER , EVEN Barnabas , both were great defenders
of the faith had slipped and been taken into a bad direction . SO no marvel if this can happen to folks .
BUT GOD sent paul to correct it and it was corrected . GOD is the same , HE SENDS folks to warn and to remind the church
EVEN TODAY of any kind of danger . The jw religoin is dangerous . THUS it must be warned against .
JACK is not in error for warning . The error is on the part of those who would partake in silencing the voices of those who
out of great love for the peoples WOULD WARN . And feel free to examine all things that all do teach or say .
Examine the jw religoin . ITS BAD NEWS . as is the mormon religoin . I say we return to our bibles . THAT TRUTH WONT LEAD US
Astray . MEN can lead us astray but TRUTH NEVER WILL lead anyone astray .

Warning against something is neither hate nor the wrong kind of judgment .

It’s ALWAYS the wrong kind of judgement if you hint that on judgement day, no member of x, y or z will be welcomed in. We aren’t to make that judgement, for our own protection, because we will be judged as we have judged. In fact, we will be judged harder if we have received more than someone else.
I’m not going to reply to your next post, sorry, crunched for time.

What and where I have concerns about the JWs is they carry a Bible, yet when their watch tower alludes to a Bible passage and you open their Bible to that passage, the watch tower is there final word!

Back when the Watch Tower knew when the LAST DAY was, "Join us or go to hell!" And yes that was the message. It highly offended the JWs for myself or anyone else to open THEIR Bible to Mathew 24 verse 36 or Mark 13 verse 32 and read
No one knows the Day or the hour when these things will happen. Not the the Angels of heaven or the Son himself knows, only the Father himself knows.

There where enough people that could open the Bible the JWs carried that one street I know of seems to be marked to bypass.

I have read of several missions, Christian travel missions where the Muslims admitted Jesus as of Lord of all. But don't insult us with that Jewish book, the old testiment. I will not hide from discussion here.

JWs don’t vote because they don’t want to be of this world, I think that’s an objective truth in our Bible too. Although in Protestantism 2022 it’s almost considered a civil duty to vote. Political Protestantism will, in my opinion, send people directly to hell. If one thinks homosexuality is wrong, just wait and see how God will punish the ones who mislead his children or lead people to fall. The sinners should already be considered lost and we should rejoice when they return (as the prodigal son).
Some people are trying to keep the prodigal son away, maybe because they would be the jealous brother who didn’t go abroad.

I always invite JWs inside because I consider them my misguided brothers and sisters, I pray with them and read from my Bible to them. I don’t much care for the debate, I’m sure I can’t heal anyones heart or belief system with logical arguments or shaming, God has to do it and they won’t recognize God if his followers are hateful.

I’m sure I have many errors in my belief system too, but I don’t believe there will be a multiple choice test before entering heaven. Cross or an upright stake doesn’t change the story much, just the image. I think that people who waste time discussing these technicalities don’t know our father and is more often than not more misguided than the JWs.

If we disagree with someone we should pray for them, have faith that God will turn them - don’t push them away regardless of their sins. We are the toilet cleaners and we shouldn’t be offended by a little dirt, we know how to clean it up.

I have never shut the door or pushed JWs away. Unless you call taking the Bible they carry and using it (I am trying hard to find another description but) against the false doctrines of the WatchTower. That is the only time they have (metaphorically at least, although physically this has happened) run screaming from the room. I do not attack, I take their prop of Christianity(the Bible they carry) and use it. Use it according to my belief and knowledge of it.

If their belief is in the Bible they have nothing to fear. But since the Bible doesn't support the watchtower publications, yet they use the Bible as a prop, what is one supposed to do.

Jesus was homeless but still we hear prosperity preaching. It makes no sense to me, confronting the errors, without the JWs knowing my love for them.

When they knocked on my door I invited them inside in my one room apartment, I told them that I love Jesus and that I believe in the trinity. So when we sat down and talked, they (husband and wife) asked me about my beliefs.
I told them.

Then they tried to confront them(my beliefs), asking me where I’ll go when I die.
I told them that I’ll go to heaven, they told me that only 144.000 something is going to heaven and I told them that I didn’t know that, but if that’s the case then I must be one of those 144.000. To which the wife replied “do you really want to go to heaven?-what are you going to do there?”.
I asked her “don’t you want to go to heaven?” And she straight up replied “no” whereafter her husband interrupted her, correcting her saying “of course it’s better to be in heaven”.

We changed the subject and soon they were on their way, but we agreed to talk again soon.

Next time they came the husband from last time had a young English/Danish speaking missionary with him instead of his wife. I read the Bible for them, I prayed for them -I’m pretty sure we prayed together too, although I was of that belief that they don’t pray with people who believe in the trinity, but maybe I just prayed for them.
I know that God can turn people like he turned Paul, I just want people to search for God through prayer. A personal relationship with God beats any theology any rational thought any argument.
I know that they felt It when we prayed and I never talked to them again.

I don’t know if the seeds I planted grew or if they were wasted in the dry earth but I know that this had an impact on all three JWs that came to my home.
I have much love for them and I want them to enter heaven with me, regardless of their religious flag.

Let’s not forget that Jesus disarmed people with love and we should really use that strategy. The same goes with sinners of all kind.

Much love!

kiaoraThank you for a Christian response to unchristian behavior. It is much appreciated.

I might come across as a "misguided sister" but having been raised in the Anglican church, I can claim to see both sides of any story related to 'JW's verses the church'....any church.
I welcome any sincere questions about us and am saddened to see how many there are who dismiss what we believe without investigation.
The Jews would have had the same attitude about Jesus and his followers.....those who begged to differ with the majority view. The majority are not on the road to life, according to Jesus. (Matthew 7:13-14) So who are the "few"?

If Jesus said to expect the same treatment that he received, and for the same reasons, (John 15:18-21) where does that leave Christendom's members?
Who persecuted Jesus and his disciples? It was those who purported to worship the same God.....history repeats......most people don't know why?
what

I am happy to have a civil discussion with anyone who wants to challenge my beliefs because I probably once believed the same as they do now, for the first 20 years of my life....and am happy to share why I no longer accept the things taught by Christendom's many disunited denominations. (1 Corinthians 1:10)

Its all about origins really.....do most people know where their beliefs originated? I didn't....
