I am going to get another one...
I am often asked about the butterfly, and relay part of my testimony.
@Rita ;
@L3astAm0ngManyB13ss3d

Just earlier this week I was with a young Christian friend in a restaurant and he has a faith tattoo and the waitress had tattoos also.

It's so obvious and so clear how it can be a gentle, low key way of prompting a quiet comment or word of testimony about the Lord.

It's just so very clear how this happens over and over in the daily life of a tattooed believer that has a little ink in a visible place.

Hi @Mantis For "need", a better term for believers considering a faith based one would be "see the advantage of".

(I'm sure you would generally agree.)
Yes of course. I would get all sorts of tattoos if I could afford it. I love tattoos. If I got tattoos now being middle aged, they might not be blue blob when I am old lol.

@Mantis Yes, and it would maybe be very advantageous if more Christians had or acquired tattoo artist skills. Clearly tattoos, if they are faith based or if they bring memories for the wearer of some personal testimony can prompt a lot of witness discussions - however brief - when the wearer is so motivated. @L3astAm0ngManyB13ss3d who started the thread now has tattoos and says she wants several. If the person who gets them is first of all motivated to use them, then a lot of testimony conversations can result.

Yeah I understand. Tattoos are addictive

Yes, well although they could be spoken of as addictive in a negative sense, yet for the believer with faith based designs that prompt testimony discussions regularly among a whole range of people, planning to get more can be construed as something wholesome and constructive, really.

Often it can instead revolve around gently concentrating on the positive aspects.

This is how I feel about many things:

Remember when bc of the famine Joseph who hard been sorely mistreated by his brethern bc of jealousy they didn't know it but went straight to him?

We know how God mightily used Joseph in preventing their death. They did NOT recognize Joseph who God had made second to the Pharoh. Why ? Joseph had adapted to where he was, never losing his faith; he looked like an Egyptian.

Ppl hem and haw about this is a sin that is a sin without proof of the word. IF YOU have such convictions and it by the Spirit then I suggest you OBEY. Only don't force your convictions on others. God deals with us as individuals, thanks be to him.

Once I was very wrapped up in being a judge, it was miserable for when that becomes our focus our eyes are NOT on him but on others!

No one is bigger,better,wiser,knowing than our God. Keep yourselves checked and following Jesus, led by the Spirit every day and you won't have time to judge anyone's else.

We ALL will stand before Jesus if we believe and are following.
The rest will stand before GOD at the white throne and then MERCY is done!

She will get a quote and then we will decide when we get it done
@Rita So did you talk to your friend lately? ...and is she still game to get another tattoo, this time with you?

Must be nice to look forward to, anyway, even if you guys don't have it done just yet.

@Rita Hope your father's operation goes okay. These days what with resources at a premium and with the aftermath of Covid, waiting seems to be the order of the day, so often. (I know what it's like having to gear round family illnesses for months on end...) You would know more about it than me, what with your line of work.

Yes, it can be nice to have something one really likes to look forward to. Then when it actually happens it's seemingly appreciated all the more, really. (Esp. when it's something rather memorable like getting an ink-up with a special person and you guys being definitely committed to having it done together.)

I have posted, text, shown and shared my tattoos with all I know and love ! ..I found the many ppl post very useful in determining my next tattoo. Just not sure when I'll get it. Thanks all !
@L3astAm0ngManyB13ss3d I expect that you are now glad to have gotten into getting tattooed - with all the expression and testimony opportunities that it brings - after waiting a long time.

So did you get any positive feedback already from those whom you have showed the ink that you've gotten so far?

Those are for my personal hearts joy.
I will share when I get my faith ones.
One problem is I'm not very social anymore, I stay indoors at home mostly. My town changes while I stay here sometimes up to 6 months. Then when I go it's to Drs. I'm usually astounded of the changes. My daughter, who is my beloved driver remarks, " Mom you got to get out more"....... lol lol lol

@L3astAm0ngManyB13ss3d I expect your daughter more than most ppl has been able to see just how joyful an experience it was when you in the end went ahead and did it in those designs, with her there with you...but maybe was she also just a little surprised when after so long you asked her to drive you to the place to have it done?

@L3astAm0ngManyB13ss3d As for you yourself, you did it with confidence, right?

And so now presumably you feel good about having done it without regrets, about having started these ink journeys.

Absolutely.
The only reason I held back was bc I thought it would HURT way more than it did.....lol like a splinter in your skin.

Unless the Lord says in his word rightly divided in context, or speaks to my heart through the Holy Ghost that I am sinning; I am going to live my life without fear of others condemnation !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
