OK, the Christian pentagram is the star pointing up and the five marks of Jesus when on the cross.

Non Christian pentagram is the star pointing down and I haven't found the meaning for it yet.

It how the pentagram is made!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It like taking the bible. Us Christian hold as dear book from God. I know a lot people who burns them and use the paper to smoke weed. So, does that make the bible evil book?

Again are you going to allow the world to make you blind. It sign like the cross. The next time I come across pentagram necklace and I am going to buy. I am going to wear with pride because every time I need to be remind of Jesus dying for my sin. I will use the that pentagram for it. So, tell those are the wounds that Jesus bleed for us.

If answer gave for the bible would be the same answer for the pentagram. You can't be on both side. Ok, bible was kinda bad choice. Go with the cross. Yes people hang upside down to invited demon into their lifes.

Use the sign of the Cross because it is not meaningless and it is not superstitious. How many churches do you know who use the Pentagram. It is a corrupted symbol and if you wear it you will give people the wrong impression. People will think you are a Satanist, is that what you want.

You would be better off with a Arosary than a Pentagram, because the rosary is divided up into five and has a crucifix on it. It doesn't ahve to be a Catholic Rosary as Protestant prayer beads are available.

I am not going to let the blind of church for wearing what I think look cool and has better meaning to me then a cross. The pentagram will remind everyday that Jesus Christ came to the Earth and die here like us. His blood reminds in my blood cleaning me of my sin and gaven my way to heaven.

If a pentagram means more to you than the cross of Christ, and wearing such a symbol---even a cross---helps remind you of Jesus, then there is a problem there. A true follower of Jesus doesn't need religious reminders, and wearing a pentagram, no matter how you explain it, has the wrong connotation for most people and will not serve to identify you as a Christian to the world.

Why does everyone think a pentagram is bad?

Isn't the original meaning of the pentagram protection from the devil back in the 1200 to the 1600. When did from there it got defaced? I also do understand if you make a pentagram and have writing in it is bad.

Personally I like how the pentagram look.

1 – Represents absolute singleness and unity (Ephesians 4:4–6; John 17:21, 22.)

2 – Represents the truth of God’s Word; for example, the law and prophets (John 1:45), two or three witnesses (2 Corinthians 13:1), and a sword with two edges (Hebrews 4:12). See Mark 6:7 and Revelation 11:3. It is also used 21 times in the books of Daniel and Revelation.

3 – Represents the Godhead / Trinity. The angels cry “Holy” three times to the triune God (Isaiah 6:3). See also Matthew 28:19 and 1 John 5:7, 8. Note also that things such as the atom are tied together as a proton, neutron, and electron. And that a family is represented as a father, mother, and the children.

4 – The number of the earth - There will be four emperors to lead Germany for example. The Nazi's were the third riech... The antichrist will be the fourth.

5 – This is the number of angels. The pentegram has five sides. We are commanding in scripture to stay away from this sort of thing.

6 – Represents the worship of man, and is the number of man, signifying his rebellion, imperfection, works, and disobedience. It is used 273 times in the Bible, including its derivatives (e.g, sixth) and another 91 times as “threescore” or “60.” Man was created on the sixth day (Genesis 1:26, 31). See also Exodus 31:15 and Daniel 3:1. The number is especially significant in the book Revelation, as “666” identifies the beast. “Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six” (Revelation 13:18).

7 – Represents perfection, and is the sign of God, divine worship, completions, obedience, and rest. The “prince” of Bible numbers, it is used 562 times, including its derivatives (e.g., seventh, sevens). (See Genesis 2:1–4, Psalm 119:164, and Exodus 20:8–11 for just a few of the examples.)

10 – Represents law and restoration. Of course, this includes the Ten Commandments found in Exodus 20. See also Matthew 25:1 (ten virgins); Luke 17:17 (ten lepers); Luke 15:8 (healing, ten silver coins).

12 – Represents the church and God’s authority. Jesus had 12 disciples, and there were 12 tribes of Israel. In Revelation 12:1, the 24 elders and 144,000 are multiples of 12. The New Jerusalem city has12 foundations, 12 gates 12 thousand furlongs, a tree with 12 kinds of fruit 12 times a year eaten by 12 times 12,000 or the 144,000. (See Revelation 21.)

40 – Represents a generation and times of testing. It rained for 40 days during the flood. Moses spent 40 years in the desert, as did the children of Israel. Jesus fasted for 40 days.

50 – Represents power and celebration. The Jubilee came after the 49th year (Leviticus 25:10), and Pentecost occurred 50 days after Christ’s resurrection (Acts 2).

70 – Represents human leadership and judgment. Moses appointed 70 elders (Exodus 24:1); The Sanhedrin was made up of 70 men. Jesus chose 70 disciples (Luke 10:1). Jesus told Peter to forgive 70 times 7.

Most people will not look at a Pentagram in the light you want them to they will look and think "Satanist." If you wear then don't have it visible. If your reason is genuine and i'm sure it is, put it under your clothes and don't show it.

Just reminder of my faith. Nothing wrong with it.

Why do you need a reminder? Do you forget who you are supposed to belong to? Do you not know that people in the occult will identify you as one of their own if they see this symbol on you? We are to flee even the appearance of evil.

1 Thessalonians 5:19-22
[sup]19-22[/sup] Never damp the fire of the Spirit, and never despise what is spoken in the name of the Lord. By all means use your judgement, and hold on to whatever is really good, Steer clear of evil in any form.

Romans 12:2

[sup]2[/sup] Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

I'm with everyone else, Wayne. God tells us not to do what the pagans do, and you can't claim ignorance because many people have shown you that a pentagram is not only worthless to Christians, but IS also an occult symbol (whether upside down or sideways, all it takes is a rotation). Jesus makes no mention of needing a man-made symbol for protection, so that is an idea of the world. It's also not the cross that is protecting you but the one, who is alive, that shed his blood on it, our Lord Jesus. We're to rely on God's will, not our own.

Just remember, there's no 'i' in Jesus :)

Wayne, I sense something a little deeper is going on here, so do you mind if we reason this out a bit, together?

I'm not one to be overly superstitious. I'm not scared of a symbol, nor do I believe that there are good symbols which are good for me to be near. I wanted you to know this because you'll know my thoughts and background on the subject. For example, the cross was used as a symbol dealing with life even before Christ came along. It was used by the Egpytians I know, and I'm pretty sure it's found in other cultures. I do believe in corruptions of original meaning when it comes to symbols.

The problem I'm seeing with what you're saying (and some of what others have said) is that if you need something to represent Jesus, then how important is that thing to you? Any sign/symbol/thing can become an idol. Some won't like me saying this, but even a cross can become an idol. I'm seeing a lot of defensive posture on this pentagram.

Are you seeing how much attention this is drawing?

I'd like for you to check out I Corinthians 8 when you have the time. It's a chapter where Paul talks about eating food, but this relates to symbols, actions, and other things. In the case, Paul speaks about what we do meaning something to someone else. In this case with the pentagram, you're wearing at item steeped in controversy. When most people see that item, they associate it with a certain thing. Whether you intend to or not, that message is what you're conveying to that person.

I mean, let's take another ancient symbol used to often illustrate God. The swastika. It once meant sun or God. Now it means something entirely different, and even the cultures which used the illustration have dropped it because it's come to mean something very evil and very specific. See how that works?

What does this pentagram look like? Is it simply a star, or does other material/symbols accompany it?

As I was reading I was thinking about faith. And I thought of this scripture. 2Cor. 5:7 We live by faith, not by sight. Do we need reminders such as any symbols or pictures etc. that are seen? We have a living hope in our hearts that is an anchor for the soul that is firm and secure. It is in our hearts that we set apart Christ as Lord. I believe this gives us peace that surpasses all understanding. So I don't think we need symbols or pictures etc., but this is just my belief and opinion.
