No matter how extreme a conviction may sound to others, if it edifies you, I want to hear about it.

What sort of worldly things has God led you away from. What did you replace them with?

I think the spirit has guided me towards the sheep and goats "Royal Law" ways more than the worldly ways. I'm still learning though and it's been a long journey of hit and misses. Peace!

The way I approach buying things is totally different now. I used to shop to alter my mood or out of boredom. Im praying I can be more content, have a minimalist mindset, and focus more on just buying what I need so I can give more

I read Jesus saying not to lay up treasures on earth but rather treasures in heaven and got convicted of my frivolous shopping habits, even though I was shopping at the thrift store.

It's more fulfilling to bless others.

When I returned to the LORD in 2007, I was quite a heavy social drinker, but what i did not know is that God was working on that aspect in my life so that he could use me for His purposes, it took three years from that point, but he slowly weened me off the desire to drink altogether.... One day, I had my last drink and never craved or desired another one, it was a total victory, over Alcohol, and I did not so much as try to stop drinking, that is what real sanctification and cleansing looks like. Within months he was using me to send the messages he had given me online, all the while being led and taught by the Holy Ghost as He refined my message and refined my life. I am truly His workmanship. It's like the wines and spirits Got replaced with the fulness of the Holy Spirit before he could truly use me and send me.... I would not trade that for so much as a sip of beer right now.

Yes I used to spend and buy my favorite things. Then I got married and still did it for a bit, but after I had children it turned the other way. Then I lost my children in the divorce and eventually became homeless. Then I got on a tight budget after that. Now thrift is my life ;)

Hi Wynona! I don't know if this qualifies but learning Hebrew and studying the bible in the "lishon kodesh" (holy tongue) has helped to give my another facet to my understanding of God and His ways. If we are caught up with the things of the Lord then we will not be drawn into the world.
