Philippians 3:13-16 LITV
13) Brothers, I do not count myself to have laid hold, but one thing I do, forgetting the things behind, and stretching forward to those things before,
14) I press on after a mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
15) Then as many as are perfect, let us be of this mind; and if you think anything differently, God will also reveal this to you.
16) Yet as to where we have arrived, walk by the same rule, being of the same mind.

Romans 5:1-5 KJV
1) Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2) By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
3) And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4) And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
5) And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Isaiah 66:1-2 KJV
1) Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?
2) For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

Tribulation works endurance because these are things we can't just fix. We have to endure through them, because we don't control them. While we continue to try to control them from fleshiness, they will continue, or will repeat. Well, we are all unique, and God works with us individually, but for many/most of us, I think this is how it is.

We have to endure, because aren't up to the task. Learning to turn our lives over to God is in showing us how weak and beggardly we actually are. And as we see how holy God is, and we see who and what we are, we tremble at the distance we cannot cross! We need Him, we love Him, we want Him, and now we learn to stop thinking we deserve Him, that we are finally "good enough" for Him, that we've "qualified", we just want Him.

Drawing near to Him, He draws near to us.

Pressing toward the mark is opening your hands and letting go.

Much love!
Grab ahold of those bibles and stay well planted . The we are one world and her religoin have merged as one
and their love god will soon call for the removal and eradication of all fundamentalism in the world .
Mark , MARK THOSE WORDS WELL . But remember its real enemy is the fundamental bible believing JESUS following christain .
Soon many will cheer as the solution that all whose hope is in this world cometh . And that solution WONT TOLERATE true lambs .
Churches in full force will betray us , friends and family WILL betray us . Fear not what is nor what is to come .
CLING TO CHRIST and count the loss of all things as only gain for HIM . IN THE END WE HAVE A HOME of upmost beauty that awaits .

Drawing near to Him, He draws near to us.
The more I think about this, the more I come to this thought. The above calling of God in Christ Jesus is calling us to Himself. To be in intimate and continuous relationship with our Heavenly Father. To remain in His love, as we hope for His mercy.

Jesus said, You will all leave me, but I won't be alone, because My Father is with me, because I always do what pleases Him.

Jesus was with His Father in such a way that the presence of His Father was as substantial, or more so, then the presence of His disciples. Jesus' death provides for our eternal life, and our eternal life is to know God, and to know Jesus Christ. Not just, Who God is, but to actually know Him, as you know your family, and your coworkers, and your friends, and more so, so much more!

Only each of us individually can testify to the nature of our daily relationship with God, whether it's limited to the passing thought, or that we have devotion times, or that we inconsistently see ourselves moving in and out of God's presence, or that we are always aware of God's presence in our lives, with us, as we talk to Him, listen to Him, share with Him, basking in His love, walking in His light.

But if you say you love God, and you don't love your brother, can you really say you love God? But when you come to realize, God is with me now, He loves me, He is guarding me, caring for me, nurturing me, the more love you will have for others, guarding them, caring for them, nurturing them.

Much love!

There is history through past interactions. There is a pattern that repeats itself from thread to thread.

Much love!

The history is years and years of the pattern repeating itself (on this site and another) of you seeking out this mans threads and engaging him by saying he speaks ill of you.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 KJV
4) Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5) Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6) Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7) Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

NLT . . .
4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

In God's high calling, how high have we come?

Much love!

Fleshiness can lead us to think we are pursuing an higher calling of God, while yet remaining in the fleshy life. How can we know? We need to be able to give an honest look, followed by an honest assement of our minds, our hearts, the thoughts and intents of our hearts.

Paul himself, while not knowing of anything he was doing wrong, still he realized that only Jesus was the One fit to judge him. Only Jesus knows us well enough to judge us. If only Jesus is a fit judge, if not even the Apostle Paul judged himself, for lack of qualification, where does that leave us?

We have to really want to know the truth about ourselves. We have to guard against those hidden motives of the heart, that will turn a thought in our minds in a heartbeat from something good to something bad.

In a forum, we have the opportunity to go back and review our own words, and compare them to Scripture. Do our words truly embody God's admonitions? Are we being kind? Are we thinking evil of others? Are we rejoicing in 'taking someone down'? Provoking others for sake of our hidden agenda? Are we hoping the best outcomes for others? Are we being patient with others? Or laying a trap?

How honest will you be with yourself? It doesn't matter if you are not honest with me. And God already knows what is true. How honest will you be with yourself? That's where dishonesty will wreak the most havoc. With others? Much havoc to be wrought there also.

James tells us that if we ask God for wisdom, He will give it, plainly and simply. That's if we believe His promise. We need to believe, and ask, and receive.

And in unity? Are we experiencing unity, even if we have some disagreements? Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the children of God.

Much love!

Love is the high calling of God......LOVE!
Complete surrender of our being unto God through Christ.
NO greater love hath this, than a man will lay down his life for a friend.
Jesus is the epitome of God's love unto us.

Can we obtain this high calling of God in our lives? Yes, but ONLY as we yield ourselves unto and into him! We do not have the ability in our mortal hearts to love without expectations, without boundaries, without recepication, nor can we ever, for the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.May we crucify it with every breath we take!

Our greatest need must always be in Christ Jesus, nothing less will do. It is and must be second by second that we move and breathe and have our being in HIM, and ONLY HIM!

And there it is. That odd thing I grew up with. The absurdity of making a mask to wear and making others see as the victim the one who is doing the abusing. It’s called projection. I’ve watched you try for years and years to gather flying monkeys to aid you in “taking down” this man who keeps giving you narcissistic injury by speaking truth. And yes, I already know no one else will see what it is you do. You’ve perfected it so meticulously that only someone who knows all the patterns and twists and has survived it will be able to see it. It’s this: seeing that someone has something you want and trying to project any bad qualities onto them and take their goodness as yours. It angers you that he has been given something you weren’t and instead of seeking it you try to steal it. It’s jealousy, twisting, manipulating to get others to see him in a bad light, and trying to lay traps. The only thing that’s changed over the years I’ve watched it is that you’ve gotten more subtle and perfected your trade.
Im leaving, no need to ban me. I won’t be back.

I can't judge this particular situation to know what applies to who, but I do know in general what you're talking about. It's the devil's warfare against God's children....wrestling not with flesh and blood. God's children get negated and trampled to death as if we're invisible and worthless, and we get scapegoated and blamed for everything while perpetrators aren't held to account and take no responsibility for themselves. Even if nobody else can see the truth, God sees. And we can learn to rejoice when we are mistreated this way, because it's a mark of belonging to Christ, the Lord teaching us to eventually rise above it. Be encouraged sister. It's the devil, and people often know not what they're doing.

At the first all men forsook me , BUT THE LORD was with me . Paul said that as well .
If one truly has the LOVE of GOD shed upon the heart they will LOVE GOD , CHRIST above all
and from that they can love their neighbor as theirself .
Now i bring this up cause many love as does the world . EVEN SINNERS LOVE SINNERS .
There is a love that is not compatible with the Love of GOD .
And many have swallowed down the drink of the harlot whose love is not of GOD but rather is of the world .
Its a sensual love that while it can contain some good works , IT has no love for the TRUTH , FOR CHRIST above all .
Rather its a love that would cast aside the love of CHRIST and focuses not on His teachings and all sound doctrine
but casts aside truth for the sake of unity . ANY love that doeth that , cometh not of GOD
nor does it love its neighbor , nor does it love GOD .
The love of GOD pulls the speck out of an eye . One can see clearly how to help the other out .
POINTING TO CHRIST and all HIS reminders , all sound doctrine by which one can truly grow .
BUT there is a love that casts aside truth and has allowed in error . And as i say often and often do say
even a little error , even a little leaven will leaven the lump as error shall indeed beget only more error .
WE should have stuck to the biblical pattern and grown in the LOVE that comes from GOD
and not been lulled to sleep by the love that cometh of this world and ends in perdition and destruction .
ALWAYS GOOD TO STAY DUG IN THOSE BIBLES and to be in PRAYER . Now let all lift up the hands
and let the LORD be praised .

We should be praising and thanking and rejoicing in GOD when we are persecuted . FOR as the apostels did

I think this is a good description of God's working in us.

We have the Holy Spirit, yet if we do not live in His power, it's not because He is lacking in us, it's because we don't apprehend His power.

In times of tribulation, tribulation works endurance, and endurance, experience, and experience hope, that is, a sure trust in God's promised end. So then greater tribulation produces greater hope. Hope is sister to Faith. Tribulation pushes us away from the world into the arms of God, as we repudiate the world, and invest our trust in God. Buying that oil.

And as the entire church is pressed in tribulation, the entire church will know greater endurance, and greater experience, and greater hope. Not because of a second Pentecost, but because tribulation works endurance, and on to hope. Our hope does not disappoint because of the love of God outpoured into our hearts.

The hope that is built through tribulation is sure - why? Because of the love of God already "outpoured" into our hearts. Like we're just the conduit. We're the nord stream 2 pipeline of God's love, filled with His love, surging through us, now blow up the fleshy shell that keeps it from just pouring out in all directions!

Yes, I like your description above. We finally learn, through the workings of afflictions, to release God's love into the world, having secured our own hope in Him. That's why we withhold God's love from others. We think we need something more, can't give things away. We can't give ourselves away. We're wrapped up in appearances and station. God help us!!

We finally learn that Christ in us is all in all, and we don't have to withhold anything, because of the power of the Spirit Who lives in us.

Good stuff!

Much love!
When did you experience "finally learning" that Christ in us is all and all? It seems sometimes that we're talking about the same things in different words.

Jesus is coming soon, so is it wrong to be reaching for that personally, and all it means, and hasten His coming? The Bride preparing herself in anticipation of the Lord's return. Reaching for what lies ahead. God putting that hunger in our hearts and making us aware that we need preparing....getting rid of spots and wrinkles, putting on the wedding garment. (Whether we're alive and remain or die first, He is coming for every soul, and we only have this life to get prepared and be ready for Him.) It's not a second Pentecost though, and I haven't heard anyone say it is. I believe the feasts are a picture of personal growth and what we may attain and apprehend, so it's not wrong to be reaching for what comes after the feast of Pentecost in our personal walk with the Lord. All I know is to keep following, keep trusting, and His word is that light unto my path.

Yes, our trust and hope grows by experience.....when we go through things and experience the faithfulness and power of God in the things we go through. Which we couldn't experience if we didn't go through things. :) It's like the devil huffs and puffs at us and blows us around and throws sharp objects at us, but we find we're still standing at the end if it, because the LORD is faithfully keeping us according to His promises, and He has all power/authority over the devil in spades. Through wind, fire and floodwater, Jesus is with us and has promised that we will not be singed or drowned.

Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

It seems sometimes that we're talking about the same things in different words.
Yes, I'm getting that impression also.

:)

When did you experience "finally learning" that Christ in us is all and all?
I meant it more a generalize statement of how I see this part of our process, but I suppose that I'm still in process of this being the reality of my life. I still find in myself times when I hold back.

It's not a second Pentecost though, and I haven't heard anyone say it is.
There's a teaching out there that in the time nearing the end of the age, that there will be an outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the church, comparable to Pentecost. And that this outpouring will as a result immediately remove deception and immediately impart faith to all the redeemed. And divisions in the church will cease, and all the church will perform miracles of prophecy and healings and raising the dead, like that.

And as with everything else, there are many variations on that theme, but the basic idea being a corporate outpouring of the Spirit transforming the church.

All these things are examples to us, and I believe a sign of a true Christian is that desire to be rid of spots and wrinkles, to be clothed in pure clothing, not to be ashamed at His coming.

Time is short and getting shorter!

Amen!

God could just gift us with that sort of faith, but it seems to me that because He has appointed us for trials and tribulations, that somehow, that way is better. I think because it involves our participation, and that the whole idea of everything, that God created us so that we could participate in What He Is Doing.

Much love!

You make me sound like a stalker. With 26,000 posts, I imagine I've engaged a good number of people in discussion. I'm routinely interested in his posts, just as I am in yours. Both of you tend towards serious topics, and I like that.

I actually had in mind a different member. I don't know what other site you are thinking of.

In reference to the person in your comment, I think that the quality of communication has improved substantially, and I much appreciate it!

It’s this: seeing that someone has something you want and trying to project any bad qualities onto them and take their goodness as yours. It angers you that he has been given something you weren’t and instead of seeking it you try to steal it.
You are wrong about this, but I know you don't believe me.

people often know not what they're doing.

I think this is why we are to first love, and then everything else, like try to understand others when we find it difficult. Putting away anger, not letting it cloud our eyes.

If we put love for others first, we will judge ourselves in that light, and seek to put off all that is not of love.

Coming back to the topic of the thread,

Philippians 3:13-14 KJV
13) Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14) I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Lamentations 3:18-24 KJV
18) And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD:
19) Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
20) My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.

21) This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
22) It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23) They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
24) The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

Much love!

Yes, I'm getting that impression also.

:)

I meant it more a generalize statement of how I see this part of our process, but I suppose that I'm still in process of this being the reality of my life. I still find in myself times when I hold back.

All these things are examples to us, and I believe a sign of a true Christian is that desire to be rid of spots and wrinkles, to be clothed in pure clothing, not to be ashamed at His coming.

Time is short and getting shorter!

Amen!

God could just gift us with that sort of faith, but it seems to me that because He has appointed us for trials and tribulations, that somehow, that way is better. I think because it involves our participation, and that the whole idea of everything, that God created us so that we could participate in What He Is Doing.

Much love!
A lot of folks are looking for a wrong coming of Christ . The see the second coming as us ushering in WORLD peace .
THEY is waiting for anti christ and have no idea that is who they wait for .
As for me , I already know the DAY i long for and i already by grace know there will be no huge awakening near the end
only a falling away , WHICH I might add , IS going on right now . I have an idea . IF we want souls saved
GET UP and start procliaming CHRIST , cause the apostels never just sat around waiting for some kind of revival ,
THEY PREACHED IT . AND they sure never told the church about some big end time revival . THEY exhorted them to GET UP
and preach CHRIST TOO . THIS is our mission . PREACH JESUS TODAY , CAUSE NO MAN KNOWS what lies on the morrow .
Preach CHRIST TODAY as though this is your last day on this earth . CAUSE IT MIGHT WELL BE . And lift those hands
and praise the glorious LORD TODAY , cause lambs will also be praising HIM FOREVER in the KINGDOM .
