Merry Christmas!
I don’t know what your Christmas has been like, but this year has been a unique one for my family! It’s been a rollercoaster of emotion – joy, sorrow, gain, loss, and so much more. The one thing that it all comes back to, though, is Jesus.
This really is a time of year where we can come home, in one form or another. While we might not always have a physical place to go, we all have a Savior who is waiting with open arms. He has prepared a place for us and it has your name on it. All he requires in this arrangement is that we truly believe in him and live our life accordingly, to allow the Holy Spirit to work through us and bring others to the same knowledge.
Some 2,000+ years ago, the greatest gift ever was secured. While we might desire to dispute in how it’s celebrated, what the exact date might be, and so many other little meaningless details, this is a time where we can put all aside but Jesus. This is a time to party. It is a time of life, and a time of love no matter the circumstance and even when it’s difficult to see.
Luke 2:8-10 ESV
And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with fear. And the angel said to them, "Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.
The message was ultimately this:
John 1:9-13
The true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
From the team here at CB, we wish you a very Merry Christmas! I do pray and hope that this time takes on amazing meaning to you and your family. I pray that God will work through CB and through you directly in your life. As CS Lewis put it so well, “the Son of God became a man to enable men to become the sons of God.”
God Bless,
Denver
