Jhn 8:44 Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. The Children of the Devil 42Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and now am here. I have not come on my own; but he sent me. 43Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. 44You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! 46Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don't you believe me? 47He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God."Also read Genesis 5http://www.theseason.org/genesis/genesis5.htm

Dear reader, Not that i want to seem nitpicky but as not ALL scripture God inspired as the bible says: 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,3:17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Tim 3:16)so is this not the word of God or is it the word of man and God which one is it God Blessdaniel2macariuswww.ourchurch.com/member/t/Truth4Today/

John 19:11 "Jesus answered, "Thou couldest have no power at all against Me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered Me unto thee hath the greater sin."Jesus is saying that there is no power, except that God has ordained it. This is clarified by Paul in Romans 13. Jesus is putting the blame where it belonged for the killing. Who were the ones that delivered Jesus up to Pilate? Judas delivered Jesus to the Sanhedrin, and the Sanhedrin, delivered Jesus to Caiaphas, Annas, the chief priests, and all those tares/Kenites that passed judgment on Jesus took the blame. Those are the ones that will be held accountable for the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The church had the greater sin, then did the government that carried out the execution. The religious community had the greater sin, then the soldiers of the political system that held the spear, the whips, and placed the crown of thorns on Jesus head. Yet when Judas had seen the evil act that he had done, he repented in remorse, returned the silver

There is evidence of both just depends on how you see it16 "Brethren, the scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand by the mouth of David, concerning Judas who was guide to those who arrested Jesus. 17 For he was numbered among us, and was allotted his share in this ministry. 18 (Now this man bought a field with the reward of his wickedness; and falling headlong he burst open in the middle and all his bowels gushed out. Seems like a hard way to kill yourself http://home.austin.rr.com/selliott4/papers/judas.html

Regarding the original question: take a look at of 1 John 5: 16-17
16If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. 17All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death
What I get is that there is deadly sin, and sin that is not deadly which implies greater/ not greater sin.I've often wondered about this verse myself.

" There is sin leading to death. I do not say that he should pray about that. All unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin not leading todeath." ( 1 John 5:16-17)
There are sins that lead to death and sins that don'tTalking about spiritual death, not physical. Things like disobeying the speed limit, which is a sin, but it wouldn't cause spiritual death, but as you grow in your faith God may convict you of this, causing to not do it.

There is only one unforgivable sin and that is to refuse the holy spirit, otherwise no sin is greater than another.

"Watch for your life’s sake. Let not your lamps be quenched, nor your loins unloosed; but be ready, for you know not the hour in which our Lord comes. But you shall assemble together often, seeking the things which are befitting to your souls: for the whole time of your faith will not profit you, if you be not made complete in the last time"

I will teach u one of the first things that God taught me and it will show there is a difference in sin. God hates sex sins so much that He puts curses on those that commit them. God does not make a difference between male and female a ***** is a ***** whether male or female. Proverbs 5:3-6 It says that a *****'s ways r movable that u cannot know them. It means that u do not know what the person will do next and neither does that person. Proverbs 6:24-35 It tells of adultry where one or both r married to another. an adultrer will hunt for the precious life. It means that the persons will give up a certain amount of ever being satisifed with anything again, but I have also noticed this curse comes in different ways like a itch that needs to be scrathed. It depends on ur knowledge of God and truth as to how bad the curse will bo on u. THe bible also say that homosexuality is an abomination to God and He will turn them over to a reprobate mind to believe a lie and be damned. (Romans 1). There is a difference in sin, all sin will get u hell but not all sins will get u cursed. God will go the extra mile and more to help u overcome most sins but there r a few that if u commit them God will leave ur heart and allow the inborn nature back into ur heart. It happened to me because of illegal drug use. Sex sins God will leave u over, illegal drug use because it is a form of devil worship God will leave u over. Devil worship God will leave u over. If there r any others I do not know them. I hope this helps u.

"Jesus answered,"'You could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you from above. Therefore the one who delivered Me to you has the greater sin'" (John 19:11).I have always been taught and always believed that sin is sin, and no sin is worse than another. So, what does Jesus mean by "GREATER" sin?
The greater sin simply means being more responsible for what was about to happened to Jesus. If the Jews did not condemn/deliver Jesus to Pilate, then he would not be in a position to crucify Jesus….the Jews (mostly the religious leaders) wanted Jesus dead, but Pilate wanted to know on what ground was He to be crucified….the Jews attitude was bad; they knew and saw all the good works that jesus did, yet they still rejected Him. But sin is still sin; any amount of sin no matter how seemingly insignificant is still sin, and God will not live or tolerate sin forever; this is the reason why Jesus had to die for our sin, so that in His death, resurrection and our accepting Him as our savior and the receiving of the Holy Spirit, sin will finally and forever be no more.

Alphabet, Yes, sins have a different weight. notice Matt 12:31,32. Here we have what is the unforgivable sin, the sin against the Holy Spirit. This is the worst sin!! The apostle John tells us that some sins deserve death and others may not, 1John 5:16,17. John is talking about sins that deserve everlasting death. Jesus, in the Sermon on the Mount told about sins that could put a person in Gehenna, which is the same as the Lake of Fire, at Rev 20:14,15, Matt 5:22, Mark 9:43-48. We are all sinners, but the majority will come back to life in a resurrection, John 5:28,29, Acts 24:15. The ones who committ the unforgivable sin or ones who will not obey Jesus will be thrown into the Lake off Fire. In the Judgement Day it is not the severity of sins but will a person try to make progress toward stopping his sin or not. Today, because we all sin, we must try to do as close to God's will as we can, and then trust God to DECLARE us RIGHTEOUS on the basis of Jesus' ransom sacrifice, Gal 2:16, rom 5:12,19-21.
