Give priority to your marriage and familyAfter creation the first thing on God’s mind was not education, national government, Israel or even the church; it was the husband / wife relationship. Our priorities should reflect this. The greatest gift you can give to your children is to love their Dad or Mom. The subtle trap that so easily besets us is that this priority becomes lost amid other pursuits, like work, ministry, children, and our own goals and dreams. In the FamilyLife Marriage Weekends we refer to these issues as “Extramarital Affairs”: anything that replaces the priority of the two of you.

Kind of like thunder said,( I am not married) But when I am in a relationship I tend not to put that girl before my main number priority,Jesus Christ!,Now I disagree with you the greatest gife I could ever give my children(whenever so I have some

) is to share the love of God with them and to teach them they can love me however much they want to,but hold God above me,for I can only offer them a small crumb when our Lord could offer them everything!

Amen Kriss. Ephesians 6: 1-3 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother which is the first commandment with promise: that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth. If this isn't learned first, it becomes very difficult for them to come to grips with the father they can't see! Nice post.

I use to rebel against my parents because I was seeking my own wants. But I learned you should put others needs before your own. It makes you a much happier person. Ephesians 6:2-3: "Honor your father and mother" (this is the first commandment with a promise), "that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land." Seeing your parents happy because you are helping out is a good reward. You'll find the more you help people, eventually you will actually enjoy doing chores!
