If Christ's death removed the barrier of death for man, and ONLY through Him and His death a man may reach the Father, then why is it that some people in the Old Testament like Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob also reached the Father without Christ??

The Old and the New Covenants. Man can never earn his way back to God.The way of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the same as today. They believed what God had told them, Abraham believed what God had told him and obeyed, so God accounted his faith unto him as righteousness.Abraham believed in what God had said about his son.Today we believe also what God had said about his Son. John 3:16 and this is accounted unto us as righteousness through Jesus Christ. The prophets all spoke about Christ so they too believed in Jesus and knew that he would die for our sins. The promise of the Messiah as the saviour was known well before he came. The prophets all spoke about him. So they believed in Jesus and what he would do too. And we like them are acceptable to God on the basis of our faith in Jesus Christ.Read Isaiah 53 and you will see how clearly Gods Spirit spoke through the prophets. And Peter confirms in 2 Peter 1:19-21 (King James Version) 19.We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20.Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21.For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.Faithful.

Jesus said:-"John 8:56: Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad."Abraham would have passed on his faith in Christ to Isaac & Jacob.Christ is preached to Adam & Eve:-Gen. 3:15: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

Simple, because they believe/had faith in the one who would send His Son to die for mankind. As Jesus said in, Matthew 10:40 (KJV) 40 He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. Because they believed God, and did what He told them, it is the same as believing in Jesus....after all besides for dyeing on a cross; Jesus came with a message from the Father, that’s why it’s equally important to believe the message that Jesus brought. Also, if you understand who Jesus is you will see that He was the One of the Old Testament. Jesus in the book of John is called the Word, which means Logos in the Greek, which means mind and speech. And it was this Logos, who created all things, which became flesh, died and rose again. So you could say, that they believe in Jesus long before He came as a man.

I believe in the Harrowing of Hell doctrine which says that after Christ's deathj on the cross He decended to hell to preach to the lost.

I Peter 3:18-20 - For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.Lovest thou in Christ Jesus (Yahshua) our Lord and Saviour.

Unlike ordinary people, they had a 'special relationship' with God, who allowed them to tap directly into the holy spirit which existed long before it took human form in Jesus.."But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel, whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting"- Micah 5:2"Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world" -John 17:24

Wrong. Christ has been around just as long as the Spirit.
