Where is the preaching of the cross on this forum?
*
1 Corinthians 1:17-18
17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.
Christ the Power and Wisdom of God (cf. Isaiah 29:14) 18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
NKJV
*
Galatians 6:11-15 -- Glory Only in the Cross
11 See with what large letters I have written to you with my own hand!
12 As many as desire to make a good showing in the flesh, these would compel you to be circumcised, only that they may not suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.
13 For not even those who are circumcised keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh.
14 But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation.
NKJV
*
13 For not even those who are circumcised keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh. """A ringing condemnation against those who claim they no longer sin in the flesh and keep the law."""
*
Ephesians 2:15-16
15 having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace,
16 and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.
NKJV

Gal_6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

1Co_1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Two very important verses of scriptures but I don't think you see what they really mean.

If the world is crucified to you then why do you say you must obey laws that the world says you must?

Under your preaching it is not the cross that is the power of God but your works of law keeping.

Sin comes in through the lusts of the world and of the flesh. If you are crucified with Christ you are dead to this world and the fleshly lusts. This death to the self and to the world makes us alive to God.

2Co_4:10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

So we are to be living sacrifices that show forth Christ and not ourselves.

Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Gal 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

So then the righteousnes of God is come to us..and we are examples of this righteousness...who walk according to heavenly power and not like ordinary sinful man.

Hi Richard,

I'm not clear what you meant by your comment after Gal 6:13.
13 For not even those who are circumcised keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh.
"""A ringing condemnation against those who claim they no longer sin in the flesh and keep the law."""
*

Are you saying that those who claim victory over sin, are thereby claiming to be keeping the law of Moses?

I am not Jewish and I have never tried to keep the law of Moses. Never! So your sniffer is as off towards me as it is towards the rest of what your mal-adjusted senses tell you.

Are you saying that those who claim victory over sin, are thereby claiming to be keeping the law of Moses?

You can read this scripture the same as I can. What does it mean to you?

To me it says that those that claim to be keeping the law and are sinless are making a false claim. Even those to whom the law was given could not keep it, nor can any man alive today.

We are made dead to sin through the power of the cross. It is presisely this preaching on the cross that is being resisted so strongly. This forum has a good number that preach constantly on the cross. It is the enemies of the cross that respond with insults and divergences from the truth that seek to belittle the power of the cross that destroys sin in us.

This is exactly why we need Christ!!

Mark 10:27 "...with man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God"

Praise God for His grace!!
