Okay so I have some questions that are really bugging me and making me feel anxious.

Firstly does God punish sins by physical flesh death instantly? For example if I was to commit a sin now and didn't ask for forgiveness soon would I in the flesh die for that sin soon. I mean flesh death not spiritual.

Secondly the rest of my family are not Christians but I pray for them to be forgiven, but will they die early and soon for again physically for not being Christians?

Lastly I am a Christian and a fairly sinful one and yeah I may have intentions to sin, so would I physically die soon for having this attitude? I have read that if a Christian keeps on committing sins, God will take their lives?? Is that mean by Physical or Spiritual??

I guess it all comes down to that I am worried about me and my family dying physically for being fairly sinful.

I thank anyone who can clear any of this up.

God bless!

In the book of Acts all the first Christians lived together and held everything in common so that if someone had money, they had to share it. There was a farmer called Ananaius who sold some land and didn't give the full amount to the Appostles to distribute. Both he and his wife lied about the money and God punnished them by makign them drop dead.

Also in te book of Acts, herod dropped dead while on his chariot because he spoke ill of the Church.

Sometimes i wodner if this might happen to me so I'm cosntantly asking God to forgive me. I worry that if i teven think about something sinful because thinking about it as as bad as doign it, then I might fall down the stairs or soemthing like that.

On the other hand, there are many people doing nasty things all the time and getting no comeuppance.

I think the best thing you cn do is jsut keeping asking God to forgive you whenever you think you have sinned.

Lastly, perhaps we should think of it as chastisement instead of punnishment. I am not qhite decided on this but certainly God has punnished people in the scriptures. Also, if you tkae communion, be very sure that you have confessed every sin you can think of because Paul warns us in 1 Corinthians 11 that thee are physical consequences.

God already knows everybodys sins, God wants us to do more than confess our sins to Him, being that He already knows them ,God wants us to do more than confess our sins to Him alone, which is also a good idea to do, but Jesus our Lord/God when He walked amongst us preached that we must confess our sins to one another, in doing it His way, God, I would suppose wants us to humble ourselves and perhaps wants us to feel embarrassed/[ self-conscious, uncomfortable ] so as it would help to act as a deterrent from committing the same sin again.
Jesus arranged for confessing our sins by giving His apostles the power and authority only to his apostles alone along with this power and authority passed on to their successors [ priests ] [ John 20:21-23 ] [ Luke 10: 16 ] Jesus wants not only the 1st century Christians to have their sins forgiven but "for all future Christians also".
According to the teachings of His infallible Church, Jesus by these words empowered the apostles and their successors , the bishops and priests of the CatholicChurch, to administer a sacrament for the forgiveness of sins committed after Baptism..Jesus obviously wanted the apostles to act as His responsible agents [ "As the Father has sent me, I also send you " ] , [ 2 Corinthians 5:20 ] granting forgiveness to all sinners who deserve it and withholding forgiveness solely from those who did not desreve it.

Hmm...

I think you guys are worrying about God's character. A loving God - A good God would not kill us because we happened to step out of line - if He did, Jesus would be foolish to tell us not to worry. People often like to emphasize (I am not sure why) that Jesus talked more about Hell than Heaven, but He talked the most about not worrying. Have faith that God is good and predictable (He never changes, remember?) - He wants to be in relationship with us!

Ananaius and his wife didn't have chance to ask foregiveness, they just dropped dead and they were believers weren't they?

keeping asking for forgiveness because you never know what migth happen to you. You might get run over by a bus with sins on your soul and therefore be in a state of rebellion against God, which God will reward with Hellfire.

You must also beg forgivness for every single little sin because a sin that is not confessed cannot be repented of and if you don't repent then you are in trouble.

It's a tough outlook, but Jesus told us that being a Christian would betough.

Hi Ben,

Sin always comes with a price and there are many examples in Scripture of people suffering the consequences of their sin. However, there is really no way to know how God will handle any sin as if there were some sort of blueprint. Sometimes the consequences of sin are clear and sometimes they're not. Death as an immediate consequence of sin is rare in Scripture, but that is not a license to do as you will. I would look at your worry as God's wake up call. You should pay attention to it.

If I were you I would spend some time in prayer. Ask for salvation for your family. Ask for God to give you the strength and desire to obey him. Also, it's a good idea to fellowship with other believers who can help to support you in your spiritual walk.

I pray that you find these things helpful. If I can be of further assistance, let me know.

it seems like the tone of these questions is, "how bad can people be and not be punished?"

the key thing is that God is good. he is a rewarder. it is good for us to follow God and bad for us to sin. Sin always leads to destruction.

No, God doesn't punish people prior to judgement, however we inevitably reap what we sow. God does correct those he loves; "For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth" (Proverbs 3:12)

So where does Ananaius fit in?

God to me is like a parent. Parents punnish so that their children to correct their behaviour and in some ways so doesthe state, which is why prisons are often called corectional facilities.

So i can udnerstad that God would punnish someone physically in order to correct them but how does killing them do this?

Here is the bottom line sin can hurt you whether you are a Christian or not. Following Jesus simply trains your heart to love your way through the pain and teaches you to be more selfless than selfish, which ultimately leads to salvation.

Asking is God is going to kill you if you step out of line is sort of like asking if you are at risk of being killed in a war zone if you are a civilian. The answer is yes, BTW
