A'udzubillaahiminasysyaithonirrojiimBismillaahirrohmaanirrohiimI've found this verse and make me corious to find the answer about the meaning of that verse from Christians. So is there any would helping to give the meaning on each verse of this Rome 13 ?KJV-Rome 1313:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. 13:2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. 13:3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 13:4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Contemporary English Version - Rome 13:13:1 Obey the rulers who have authority over you. Only God can give authority to anyone, and he puts these rulers in their places of power.13:2 People who oppose the authorities are opposing what God has done, and they will be punished.13:3 Rulers are a threat to evil people, not to good people. There is no need to be afraid of the authorities. Just do right, and they will praise you for it.13:4 After all, they are God's servants, and it is their duty to help you. If you do something wrong, you ought to be afraid, because these rulers have the right to punish you. They are God's servants who punish criminals to show how angry God is.For your kindly help, i shall say thank you.Best regards,Ricky WWallahu a'lam.

we see in this chapter how we should act as a Christian under any form of government in this world. Romans 13:1 "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.""Every living soul [or person is to] be subject unto the higher powers", which means to be obedient to the laws of that governments. There is no power, or government on this earth that is in existence but that God has allowed it to exist for His purpose. Even the people of Esau, the Russian people under the Communistic rule, were allowed to serve a purpose in the plan of God, and to fulfill prophecy. Every world empire from Babylon under Nebuchadnezzar to the final world religious government under Satan in his role as the Antichrist, are ordained or allowed by God. Why would this be? Because they are fulfilling the word of God in prophecy. Daniel wrote us the best example of what God is saying here in Romans. If you operate within the parameters of any civil law within a nation, then that nation must protect your rights for you, to do what it is that you do. As long as it is a legal profession or business. As a Christian we are to respect the authority of the land that we are in, whether as a citizen, or visitor. This is why Ezekiel could say; Libya will be doing this, and Russia would be doing that, and the government in Jerusalem will be doing such and such at the time of the end. God set the governing forces up in each nation, and He put the form of order that would rule. Some of these nations will have a negative purpose to God's plan and some will play a positive part in God's plan, which is His Word. Paul is giving us a doctrinal lecture here as to how we are to get along in our community. We are given instruction in civil matters, as to how we are to conduct ourselves with regard to the laws of our land or the land that we are in. If you follow these instructions, God will bless you. Basically this rule given here works under all governments, especially in the free world. If you obey the laws of the land, then the government of that land is obligated to protect your interest and all the rights that that government offers to it's citizens, or subjects if under a king. When a government exists over a people, that government is ordained by God, or God would cause it to be brought to an end. When a government rises it is ordained by God for a purpose, and when it falls, such as the Soviet Union falling in three days, it will be rebuilt in two weeks or whatever the time frame set by God.Romans 13:2 "Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation."The "power" spoken of here is the "government", so when you resist the government authority you resist the ordinance that God put into that government. An "ordinance" is an institution, or instrument that God is using for His purpose. God uses all sorts of ordinances within governments to carry out the fulfillment of His Word. When He said the whole world would worship the Antichrist, and the Political power would prepare the way for the Religious government to follow, then what we see today is the fulfillment of God's prophecy, as the entire world becomes active under the United Nations agencies. Romans 13:3 "For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:"The word "Rulers" covers from your local policeman on the beat, to the very top officials of government. They are not going to come against you as long as you do what is right. They will not harm anyone doing good, but they will when you do evil against your neighbor, or his land. In the question, "Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power?" is directed to those doing evil, and they should be afraid. When you do good the government in power will not only praise you, but also protect you in your good work, as a good citizen. Then all the time you could be planting seeds of God's Word, and doing God's work.In God's wisdom, He has allowed all systems of government to exist, and in His appointed time, those governments will be dissolved. As long as we follow the rules of the system we are in, we are granted the all rights of that system. We are to take advantage, with God's blessings, of what ever system of government you find yourself in. Romans 13:4 "For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil."Paul is saying that the policeman or any governmental official is a minister from God to you, for your good. They are servants of the people, for their protection. If you are doing things and stirring up matters that is against that government then be afraid, or that the government has the right to come down on you. There is a reason that the authority of the government and God has been placed on that official, for it is for the common good of all the people. Friend, that policeman is the minister of God, because God ordains the nation and all of the leaders. When some outside force or person is a threat to your family or the peace of the community, then your government and its officials are to protect you, and they are to execute wrath on them that bring evil to the community. It is not you that carries out the judgments of the law, but the government. When the government refuses to execute those judgments, then God will remove those in charge, and in America it is done at the ballot box, or by the means spelled out in the laws of the land. This is God's teachings and not ours. If you do something evil and against the law, then you are subjects to the punishment of that act of yours, by the law. Romans 13:5 "Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake."When you do what is right, by the law, you avoid the wrath that the breaking of the law brings. When you train your conscience as to what is right and wrong, then your conscience is your guide, and when there are not standards in place by Scriptural training, then the law of the land becomes the standard for what is right and wrong. When you have uncivilized people, you have no law, no standards, no discipline, nor do they even know how to respect any law and order. Those uncivil people will amount to nothing until they find the Lord, and establish discipline and principles in their lives.

You see Ricky. At the time Paul was writing Romans, it was under great sin. People where as bad, if not worse than the left side of America today. There were homosexuals, drunkards, and everything you can imagine. And God told Paul to minister to the Romans. Eventually, Paul got to talk to Augustus Caesar, the Emperor. And for a time, Rome was under God's command. Rome was Christian. However, after a few leaders, one of them was really bad. This particular leader had orgies and was drunk all of the time. And you know that citizens look up to their leaders. And they see that this is okay because the leader was doing it. So all of Rome started sinning again. God stopped helping Rome. And it eventually destroyed it self. And was captured by Barbarians. Those two scriptures you posted were guidelines of how leaders should be. And who citizens should follow. The first scripture said that people shouldn't look at their leaders to follow. They should look at God. Because He is the leader of all. And they should be like God.And the second scripture says that when the leaders do good and follow God, then they are with God, and don't have to fear him. But if they do bad, and sin, God will punish them. Just like how Rome fell.Oh, and Kriss covered it better than me. Mine was like a quick history lesson.

Needless to say Ricky W,He not teaching that you submit yourself to evil power. If someone makes a law as in Daniels time about whom you can and cannot worship. Then clearly Gods truth takes presedent over these evils and one must not do them.Paul was ensuring peace be kept.Faithful.

Ricky, I agree with Kriss, but would like to add something very important. We are to obey God first, even before government, when the two conflict. This is why we have what is known as the prison epistles. Epistles that were written from prison. The government made it illegal to preach the Gospel. Paul continued to preach the Gospel as commanded by God. When arrested, he submitted to the authorities. Dave

I'm not sure of the point that you are making. Neither God's Law, nor the law of the land permitted murder, or even adultry. David repented, David was still chastised by God.The Bible does not say what happened to Moses, but we know if it was murder that it was not God's will.I think that you are missing the point...Romans 3:9 What then? Are we better than they? Not at all. For we have previously charged both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin. 10 As it is written: “ There is none righteous, no, not one; 11 There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. 12 They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable: There is none who does good, no, not one.” ;(Psalms 14:1-3; Psalms 53:1-3; Ecclesiastes 7:20) 13 “ Their throat is an open tomb; With their tongues they have practiced deceit”; “ The poison of asps is under their lips”;(Psalm 5:9; Psalm 140:3) 14 “ Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.” (Psalm 10:7) 15 “ Their feet are swift to shed blood; 16 Destruction and misery are in their ways; 17 And the way of peace they have not known.”(Isaiah 59:7-8) 18 “ There is no fear of God before their eyes.”(Psalm 36:1)19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.21 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.Ricky, what does Jesus mean here...Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. ...Murder and adultry Begins in the Heart Matthew 5:21-30. If you are under the Law...Galatians 4:21 Tell me, you who want to be under the law, are you not aware of what the law says? James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. Romans 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.Without faith in Jesus Christ as Lord God and Saviour, you will be just as guilty before God as the adulterer or the murderer.Read more about justification here. http://www.christianityboard.com/justifica...some-t3607.html

That The Bible is full of sinful people, who behaved wrongly. It shows us, what kind of God we've got. Our God is not like us people, You are as much sinner than I or other people here now or other people in the Bible or Muhammed. We all are sinners and need the grace of God,which is in Jesus alone. You can't come to God without believing that Jesus died for your sins, because you can't be free from sin with your own works without Jesus sacrificing His life for your sins and everybody's sins. It just shows we are nothing without Jesus. That does not mean that when we get to know Jesus, we can just purposely live in sin. But we've got forgiveness in Him, if we repent our sins.
