Below are words from scripture, and testimony of believers, which all help inform our understanding.

What I'm interested in discussing, is how to understand the spiritual dynamic which gives the blood its power, and how this power is accessed with understanding by those who have begun to trust in Christ Jesus for eternal salvation.

What should a Christian know about the blood? What does it mean? What does it do? Why does it matter?

This is not the thread to discuss the Last Supper, transubstantiation, or, the rituals of any denominational church.

First, here is a song by Andrae Crouch which George Beverley Shea made famous in Billy Graham crusades -

The Blood Will Never Lose its Power

http://www.bensonsou...lyrics/0694.htm The whole song is on the first option.

The blood that Jesus shed for me
Way back on Calvary
The blood that gives me strength
From day to day
It will never lose its power.

It reaches to the highest mountain
And it flows to the lowest valley
The blood that gives me strength
From day to day
It will never lose its power.

It soothes my doubts and calms my fears
And it dries all my tears
The blood that gives me strength
From day to day
It will never lose its power.

It reaches to the highest mountain
And it flows to the lowest valley
The blood that gives me strength
From day to day
It will never lose its power.

It reaches to the highest mountain
And it flows to the lowest valley
The blood that gives me strength
From day to day
It will never lose
It will never lose
It will never lose its power

Here are two famous hymns, the singing of which in the Spirit, bring the power in the blood to bear on those receiving it.

Words and Tune by L E Jones.

Would you be free from the burden of sin?
There’s power in the blood, power in the blood;
Would you o’er evil a victory win?
There’s wonderful power in the blood.

Refrain
There is power, power, wonder working power
In the blood of the Lamb;
There is power, power, wonder working power
In the precious blood of the Lamb.

Would you be free from your passion and pride?
There’s power in the blood, power in the blood;
Come for a cleansing to Calvary’s tide;
There’s wonderful power in the blood.

Refrain

Would you be whiter, much whiter than snow?
There’s power in the blood, power in the blood;
Sin stains are lost in its life giving flow.
There’s wonderful power in the blood.

Refrain

Would you do service for Jesus your King?
There’s power in the blood, power in the blood;
Would you live daily His praises to sing?
There’s wonderful power in the blood.

Refrain

Words and Tune by Elisha A Hoffman

Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Refrain
Are you washed in the blood,
In the soul cleansing blood of the Lamb?
Are your garments spotless? Are they white as snow?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Are you walking daily by the Savior’s side?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Do you rest each moment in the Crucified?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Refrain

When the Bridegroom cometh will your robes be white?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Will your soul be ready for the mansions bright,
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Refrain

Lay aside the garments that are stained with sin,
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb;
There’s a fountain flowing for the soul unclean,
O be washed in the blood of the Lamb!

Refrain

Lastly, here are three pieces of scripture which seem to me to be connected to the power of the blood, all of which help to give our understanding perspective.

Isaiah 45:20 Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye [that are] escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray to a god [that] cannot save. 21 Tell ye, and bring [them] near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? [who] hath told it from that time? [have] not I the LORD? and [there is] no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; [there is] none beside me. 22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I [am] God, and [there is] none else. 23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth [in] righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. 24 Surely, shall [one] say, in the LORD have I righteousness and strength: [even] to him shall [men] come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.

Philippians 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient to death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth; 11 And [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Psalm 138:2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

Paul mentions "Faith in His blood". Some people don't understand why Paul would talk about "faith in his blood" but when you see all the benefits below, you will understand.

Rom_3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

because we are justified by it -
Rom_5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

and we have redemption through his blood
Eph_1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

We were alienated from God and have now been brought close to Him by the Blood of Christ.
Eph_2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

Again, we have redemption through his blood and the forgiveness of sins.
Col_1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

The blood of Christ purges our conscious of dead works
Heb_9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

And we are sanctified by His blood
Heb_13:12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.

I would say dragonfly, that His blood is very significant and so it is now easier maybe for some to understand why He needed to come in the flesh. There are more reasons for that, but the blood (we see many pictures of the blood in the OT) "shed for many for the remission of sins" is definitely high on the list.

Heb_10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

1Jn 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Those are wonderful songs you posted.

Thank you, Axehead and Rex. These verses are a great start to the thread. :)

These are interesting verses: Exodus 12:13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye [are]: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy [you], when I smite the land of Egypt.

Jonah 1:14 - 16 Wherefore they cried to the LORD, and said, We beseech thee, O LORD, we beseech thee, let us not perish for this man's life, and lay not upon us innocent blood: for thou, O LORD, hast done as it pleased thee. So they took up Jonah, and cast him forth into the sea: and the sea ceased from her raging. Then the men feared the LORD exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice unto the LORD, and made vows.

Compare Matthew 27:3 - 5 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What [is that] to us? see thou [to that]. And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.

Acts 13:38 Be it known to you therefore, men [and] brethren, that through this man [Jesus Christ] is preached to you the forgiveness of sins: 39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Was there a clause in the Mosaic law which meant Judas could not have escaped a death penalty for betraying Christ? (I'm not sure.)

I'm interested in hearing whether or not you believe this man found, looked in side the ARK and took blood samples from the mercy seat.
With the permission of 4 angels?

He mentioned a video of this event, where would that be?

Hi! 'DragonFly'
BTW: There is a purposed and significant difference to be discovered between when the Bible makes mention of the "Blood of Jesus" and the "Blood of Christ".

Let me give that some thought and investigation for a couple of weeks, please?

Oh, 'DragonFly', I do apologize.
I wasn't meaning to introduce a discussion about it. I was merely suggesting that maybe the difference between the two is a worthy one to investigate for yourself in the future.
I suspect that I'm already Posting too much in here as it is. :)

Hi MT,

It's okay. I wasn't meaning we would discuss it. What I had in mind was as you've stated. I will look out for it for myself, as I study.
