Good post Rocky. The only thing I'm not sure about is the "God's judgement" thingy.

I guess I look at it as more like God abandoning America, as a nation. But, IMO, that happened long ago.

MacArthur's admonition for the church to get it together is spot on.

Abandonment is judgement,to be a christian means to exist within the confines and protection of God's law and grace...when you are left to your own devices without God you are being judged.

Words have meanings...

Abandon -

1a : to give up to the control or influence of another person or agent
b : to give up with the intent of never again claiming a right or interest in <abandon property>

2: to withdraw from often in the face of danger or encroachment <abandon ship>

3: to withdraw protection, support, or help from <he abandoned his family>

Judgement - (as in this case) -

3a capitalized : the final judging of humankind by God
b : a divine sentence or decision; specifically : a calamity held to be sent by God

They are not interchangeable.

The results are..if God does not judge then he does not bless either.
