Apart from prayer, We need knowledge, Knowledge of what God has said about healing.
Isaiah 53: 3 says Jesus was a man of pain and acquainted with sickness.
V4 says, SURELY Jesus has bourne our sicknesses and carried our pains.
V5 says By His stripes we are healed.
Matt 8: 1--16 is all about healing for the physical body, And v17 says,
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah [Is 53: 3--5] saying, Himself [Jesus] took our infirmities and bare our sicknesses.
1 Pet 2: 24 says, By Jesus stripes we WERE healed.
Jesus has already paid the price for our healing.
So we receive it by faith.
In Isa. 53:4 the word for sorrows there in the Heb. should be pains. Jesus bare all pain on the cross to take away ours.
One day I was in agony pain, and Jesus had me get down on the floor and reach out to touch the hem of his garment. I was instantly healed went to bed and to sleep. My secret though is I don't use medicines or go to Drs. I have chosen to total trust him. It is important to learn all we can about faith for healing.
I have trusted and hurt for different trials in the past, including being cut in half. God delivered me , the thing to understand is we can shout ouch or we can shout , praise God, plead the blood, worship, say the word of God about his promises. He has commited himself to never lie or cause us shame, he will come through for us and you. Don't submit to laying in bed etc. Say Lord I am going to act like I am healed. We have learned to call sicknes a lie of the devil because Jesus redeemed us from the curse of sickness.. The devil can't stay in the presence of the Lord, cry out to him and give him glory and thanks for healing at Calvery. I wish that thou mayest prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers 3Jn.2. Amen. and peace.and grace.

I had a similar thing happen to me brodav9. Amen! He is so Good!
God does use Doctors as well, though so don't neglect using them when you need to. Luke was a Doctor but he was also a disciple of Christ.

I have much chronic pain from injuries when young. It only helps me to praise and worship Jesus more
