Firstly, I want to clarify that I am not interested in the procedure myself, but have noticed in some christian circles now that some ladies are undergoing this because they are not happy with the way God has made them. Now, I don't feel as though it is a problem if a woman has lost her breasts to cancer or if it is required(breast reduction) for health/comfortable reasons, but I wanted to know how others feel about this.Do you think it is permissable for a christian woman to make changes to her body if she isn't happy with it by means of plastic surgery? If not, what scripture verses would support it.I so, what scripture verses would support it?Thanks.:angel10:

In my opinion, such a procedure is done for the sake of vanity and pride--both of which are sin.:naughty:
I would like to add that it is also very expensive. Jesus wants us to live humbly so we can help others in need.love, hitomi

This doesn't go against Gods word necessarily . But if you are that concerned with physicallooks your priorities are wrong I have found few women I knew who have done this that it brings them any happiness. Usually because the problem was not trusting in God but rather trying to fix their self esteem or other personal problems by themselves rather than turning to God.Changing your body will not cure your spirit

If any girlfriend of mine had it done I'd ditch her straight away because I prefer natural-born women, not freakos..

I couldn't find anything about breast augmentation in the bible, but I would have to agree with Jon-Marc.

As for makeup etc I'd prefer a woman not to do that either, it makes then look like clowns..

Some women need a LITTLE makeup.

Some women (like my mother) have a natural beauty that doesn't require help. I can't stand seeing a woman with bright red lips. It reminds me of the days when that signified a prostitute and reminds me of that. I also don't care for any heavy makeup that looks so phony. My mother only wore makeup when she dressed up to go somewhere special--like a wedding anniversary celebration. Then she used just a little.

I just have one scripture to quote, "Greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world" so if you're concerned about your outside appearence, you're losing track of what really matters:simply stated - we need only to respect Gods oppinion who sees our heart and knows whether we are trying to promote ourselves to the world to gain the favor of men or women, which is in all ways trying to boast of ourselves, when what really matters is what's on the inside, our heart and as Jesus said,(matthew 5:8) "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see Godappearance means nothing, it's our heart we should be worried about and our mind which Im not going to get into.I can go in depth with this subject but I meant this to be a brief reply.

This begs the question...Whats is the difference between plastic surgery, tattoes, even dying your hair or body peircings? I could be splitting hairs (no pun intended), but I wouldn't want there to be a blatant double standard...

I saw a woman on Ripley's Believe It or Not who had over 700 piercings, and many of them were in her face. She looked grotesque and ugly in my opinion. She said she was going for 1,000 and probably wouldn't stop there. I can't imagine the reason for that. I've also seen people who covered nearly their entire bodies with tattoos. I had a cousin whose hair was never the same color each time I saw her. Some people will do anything to be noticed and not to be ordinary. Personally, I like being ordinary and not standing out in a crowd.

if you notice amy it says in the verse you quoted..."for we wrestle not against flesh and blood..." so you see, our flesh is not fighting the battle and yet the devil will constantly try to hurt us in the flesh with his wicked devices and corruption influence, stress, etc. but when the holy spirit is in us "he is our greatest weapon" because he is God and he cannot be defeated since he has clearly painted a picture of the end of satan's reign in His word...which is beyond contestation unless you don't believe in the bible.

Scripture says it so clearly, I can't say it better;"Everything is Permissible, not everything is beneficial" ~1 Corinthians 10:23 [1 Corinthians 6:12]
