1 Corinthians 1:18-20
GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

18 The message about the cross is nonsense to those who are being destroyed, but it is God’s power to us who are being saved. 19 Scripture says,

“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise.
I will reject the intelligence of intelligent people.”

20 Where is the wise person? Where is the scholar? Where is the persuasive speaker of our time? Hasn’t God turned the wisdom of the world into nonsense?

1 Corinthians 1:18-20
American Standard Version (ASV)

18 For the word of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us who are saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And the discernment of the discerning will I bring to nought.
20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

these are my thoughts please share yours
To give our own life to gain life does not make sense without knowing Jesus. Times wise people have believed that the earth was the center of the universe and that the world was flat and that some god held the earth in space so it would not fall. The word tells us the truth on all of these you just have to look because it is in places like Job and Psalms. However people may have went to bible to explain simple ideas like these and been over looked. If one chooses to believe the bible over worldly thinkers they do good.

You can go with KJV for actual translation which was accepted by the most of the English generations. Then next will be NIV. But this issue follows in my regional languages also. Our bible was written / translated in old traditional language. Now, new versions comes with normal easy words to make normal people to understand it and that bible is given with free of cost / low cost.

If i read that bible, which is not suiting to me, it appears to be with different meanings. So, illiterates, normal people can go with easy understandeable version. Meditators can go with traditional bible which was translated from original Hebrew / greek.

I dont see big issue from it. If there is something troubling with that particular version. then go with your usual version. No one is insisting you on that.

Be blessed.

Thanks.
