I am a true Metallica fan. Have been since the early 90's. Want to know the irony of this? I brought my children up NOT to listen to music like this. It was Satanic and just evil.But one day I was doing my dishes and my son had turned on MTV. Metallica's ONE was playing. I didn't know who they were, what they were about, but what I did know was that the music and lyrics were true to my soul. My soul bled for a soldier's sake. Since then, I have been a true Metallica fan. I have gone to over 10 concerts. I am a member of their fan club. I can tell you everything and anything about them. I am almost 53 years old. Yes, there are some songs that are not quite right. However, there are some things in my life that are not quite right either. Will I go to hell? NO. Will Metallica? I doubt it very much. They sing what is true and even though truth sometimes sounds evil or hateful it doesn't make it anymore than what it is. The truth. God stands for truth. God stands for those who are seeking the truth. God stands for love, justice. And those who prevail under all circumstances will come out the winners. Or in christian terms the blessed. AtALoss

And quite personally, I don't see how Metallica or any dark songs can preach truth if it doesn't teach what is in the bible.God only loves Melodies, psalms and hyms. (Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:16)And quite frankly, we should be careful on what we say. Matthew 12:34 - O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.Matthew 15:11 - Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.Just be careful on what you say...Jag

I never much cared for metal or heavy rock music - so I will plump for the "it must be evil" option.I can use it as an example of being offensive to my religious sensibilities and get it banned from all public buildings and areas.Other religions seem to find this an effective way of squashing public and "offensive" displays of freedom.My tongue is firmly in my cheek
I love metal, jazz, blues, and almost every genre that contains negative songs, but I don't necessarily listen to those songs. I feel as if you should be able to listen to anything you want. Because God did not intend to see us as sinners if we don't listen to Christ Tomlin or Michael W. Smith every minute. Listen to what makes your heart skip a beat and leaves you with goosebumps.
